This is a beautifully designed book but it has little to do with authentic Vaastu or Vastu. The author has good intentions but is following coffee table books that are replete with errors about the science of vastu and the science and technology of vaastu. The true definition of these two words is unknown by the author. Unfortunately this is not the only author who has marketed this topic but does not understand the authentic science. It is being reduced to incense, mirrors, moving furniture etc. Authentic Vastu is far more than the smoke and mirrors presented in this text. I know that this bastardization of truth was not intended, but the author simply does not know what she does not know.

awesome book! even our cousin loved this book and so i passed it on to him. now i gotta get a new one for us! its very descriptive.. and also a good deal for the price. it works nicely for yoga lovers!
Almost as good as a personal consulting.......2002-12-04
I took a 7 week long (2hours a week) workshop with the author and read this book during the workshop and after. The book is almost like having Kathy inside your home to figure out how to make Vastu work for you! It's amazing the changes that have occured within my roommate and my sense of ease now that my house is vastu perfected :) I even began to bring it into the workplace and the changes were amazing. Before I left my job I took my meditation belongings home and the energy around me and throughout my small workplace immediately became less friendly. If you feel like you're looking for something and you're constantly running away from your apartment read this book! It will help you recognize exactly how to make your home a sanctuary for yourself, animals, family, and even roommates! Not to mention guests.
Best Book on Vastu!!!.......2002-11-18
I practice yoga--seriously. I just heard about vastu and bought this book after someone told me it was the best book to read on this ancient science. I enjoyed it immensely and found it so logical to follow and understand. I've started to re-organize much of my apartment. Already, it looks so much nicer and really does make me feel much more comfortable and calm. I highly recommend this book to everyone--especially people who do yoga--the two go together for sure.

Who knew you could change your life so much by simply moving your bed or computer? I couldn't recommend a better book to learn how to improve your health, your job, even your romantic life. Forget all those male/female books that try getting you to color your hair or spend crazy amounts of time at coffee shops. This book lets you know the most significant changes come from within.

A good introduction for a beginner.......2003-04-15
This is the first book I bought when I started learning this amazing craft. It has beautiful illustrations and pictures (in color), which really show some of the techniques better than you can describe them. It is short and to-the-point, but I did eventually buy a more detailed book. But this one remains the one that I check back with to answer quick questions! Definitely worth the money!

I am a beginner and I'm teaching myself. This book was very helpful in teaching me how to begin. It also has a lot of nice designs that I was not afraid to try. I found this book very helpful in getting started.

BEAUTIFUL AND LOVING BOOK!!!!!.......2007-06-17
Must admit that I am probably biased since my daughter,Dina Dembicki, was involved in the "making" of this beautiful tribute to the drivers and their "kids". Having seen what it takes to put it together makes me appreciate it all the more. Dina spent 12 to 18 hours a day doing the layout and putting the book together. As the Design and Print Production, Graphic Arts person, she spent every moment loving this book. Ryan and Krissie Newman are not only wonderful human beings and loving "pet parents" they are generous with their time and aid for all living animals. The Ryan Newman Foundation is responsible for the Catawba County Humane Society's new housing facility for which this book donated all net proceeds to the new building construction. These are the kind of folks who can be assured to make it to Heaven!! This book is now in it's 2nd printing thanks to all animal and NASCAR lovers who bought one. My thanks to them and everyone else responsible for making this book such an astounding success. By the way, Krissie is even prettier than her photo!

I have the book and I love it! It love the great pictures and stories. Its fun to see a fun side to our favorite country singers. The stories are so heartwarming. Especially Ty Herndon's story. His made me cry. What a poet. I love animals and I really enjoyed seeing that many of my favorite singers do too.

Not the satire like the strip became since the mid 1940s.......2005-12-20
The lil Abner of the 1930s was not the satire and farce like the strip became since the mid 1940s.
It was more of a suspense, ala Dick Tracy and Terry and the Pirates, with a bit of satire and farce thrown in, along with a soap opera love angle with Abner and Daisy Mae.
It also features comic characters that looked like real human beings, not the exaggerated drawings of the mid 1960s.
That said, Al Capp was a masterful storyteller. The stories and drawings capture the late 1930's period.
However, it stands on its own merit and deserves a 5.

I wish I'd had this book while I was growing up! I recommend it to young people as well as to their teachers and others who work with youngsters and need a better understanding of what children of alcoholic parents are going through. The poem on the dedication page is especially insightful. The author obviously has a thorough knowledge and understanding of this subject. Don't miss the eye-opening quiz at the beginning of the book! Agincourt is one of the most evocative names in English military history. Henry V's forces were tired, hungry, and faced a French army three to six times more numerous. However, they possessed several advantages, and English success resulted from the combination of heavily armoured men-at-arms with troops armed with the infamous longbow - the havoc this weapon wreaked was crucial. Using original fifteenth century evidence, including the surviving French battle plan and the accounts of men present in both armies, this title discusses the lead-up to the battle, the tactical dispositions of the two forces and the reasons for the ultimate English success.

If you want a quick overview of the battle of Agincourt, this is the book for you. Mr. Bennett does a good job of: providing an overview of the opposing commanders, discussing the troops (strengths and weaknesses), giving the political background, describing the battle field and (finally) describing the battle. He also explains the differing interpretations of the battle field and the position of the troops. He also talks about a recently discovered document of the French battle plans (and provides the text) that was recently found in the British Library. I would be remiss to not mention that the book actually starts with the battle of Harfluer and describes Henry's retreat through the French countryside before the final battle at Agincourt. As with all the books in this series, the illustration are terrific and the maps and battle plans are worth the price of admission. As with most books in this series, it is quickly read and is a great reference tool for the curious minded.
Good Overview.......2003-01-05
Agincourt 1415 (Campaign ; No. 9)by M. Bennett is a quality overview of an improbable military victory. In 1415, during the Hundred Years War, the English Army commanded by Henry V defeated a French Army many times its size. Bennett goes to great lengths to explain how this happened and concluded that it resulted more from the failures of the French to take advantage of their numerical advantage, then the brilliance of Henry V.
The book follows the typical Ospery format. The most significant difference is that Bennett goes to great lengths to discuss the controversies regarding the battle as well as the inadequacies of the commanding officers. Bennett does not go overboard with his praise for Henry V and discusses his success and failures.
All in all, this is a good read for one that wants an overview of the most famous battle of the Hundred Years War.

What a great book on Galileo told in an interesting story-like manner. There is a nice balance between his life and scientific work,nicely translated by Laura Fermi, widow of the famous Italian physicist Enrico Fermi of atomic reactor fame...I liked the short digressions to inform us of the times in which Galileo lived and struggled so much...The well-balanced view on the Inquisition which sentenced Galileo is nicely written...I have read five different books on Galileo---this is the best small-volume introduction to Galileo...essential reading for scientists and science teachers in high schools and colleges
