This is an enjoyable book for me, primarily because it was written by a friend of my mother's with my mother Elizabeth Holster's drawings in the book.
Accomplished Work for a poorly understood medium.......2002-07-06
The CPSA is doing good work on behalf of the colored pencil. Recently they have established an annual experimental show for those artists using the medium for more avant garde ideas. This is good for demonstrating the versatiity color pencil can offer. With this book based on the fifth annual show (the CPSA is about to have it's 10th) we see a greater depth of subject matter being handled by artists. Still...some 34 works/pages in this book are devoted to the traditional fruit/flowers crowd. Some indeed are exceptional, others not. I am, however, drawn to those artists who are doing other bolder more imaginative work. Luckily some very good examples are included in this book. I recommend you add the book to your library if you are a color pencil artist.
Great coffee table book, inpirational.......2001-04-30
This is a beautiful coffee table book for colored pencil artists and enthusiasts. Subjects span a wide range from people to landscapes to animals and still life works. There is something here to suit almost anyone's taste. This wonderful variety truly shows off the possibilities of the medium.
Some of my favorites include Donna Basile's close-up baby face, Carol Tomasik's "Flying Fish", and an American Indian on horse titled "Me-A-Pa-Te" by Stan Pawelczyk. I also enjoyed Elizabeth Holster's "Isle Royale Portage"; this landscape could easily be mistaken for a photograph it is so vivid. I would have to say my absolute favorite is by "Wing Nuts" by Mike Russell. It's hard to describe, but it's very unique. It shows sunflowers and bees in a fantasy scene.
I really like that instead of just listing the basics about each piece, like title, size and paper used, they also include commentary from the artist who created it. This gives you insight into what the artist was thinking and adds a personal touch to the book. A Directory of artists, as well as a glossary, is also included in the back. This makes a great gift for any colored pencil artist.
Juried Colored Pencil Art Works.......2000-05-28
This is the annual exhibition for colored pencil work and the good news is that the range of styles is getting wider. This medium has tended to attract only those artists with a photo-realistic style in the past. Now, more artists with styles not quite so realistic are becoming attracted to this medium as well. One still doesn't see the versatility that one sees in work from other media but that may well be coming. I bought this book and am enjoying studying the work within it.

Post-Modern Quirk-Fest.......2000-05-31
A quick summary of Dean Haspiel's post-modern quirk-fest is a hard thing to nail down, but I'll give it a try. Our protagonist, the aforementioned Billy Dogma, is a hopeless, loquacious romantic: all he wants is to hang with his girlfriend, the beautiful Jane Legit. Unfortunately, the world's a little more practical place than that, so he's gotta swim with the sharks if he's gonna make ends meet. They can try and make him compromise his integrity, as long as they don't mind a faceful of fist every now and then! Truly "getting" Haspiel's Billy Dogma stories requires a little bit of work on the reader's part, and maybe a second or third reading, but it's well worth the effort. Having the whole kit and kaboodle in one big chunk is helpful, too. And at seven bucks for almost a hundred pages, can you really say no?
Improvisational Dysfunction.......1999-11-23
Haspiel's stream-of-consciousness existential musings are engagingly brought to life by the motley crew of characters, including gun-toting Billy Dogma, his girlfriend Jane Legit, down-on-his-luck superhero Max Trope, and many others. The writing is often poetic-- although maybe not purposefully so?-- and the drawing is dynamic and sometimes beautiful.

Gracias Padre Celestial por la Iluminación! La respuesta que tantas veces se busca....por que mis decretos no funcionan bien...Simplemente por que no estas haciendo los decretos de los Maestros Ascendidos, como bien te lo explica este libro en la página 103, ("Las palabras de un Maestro Ascendido llevan la totalidad del Patrón de Vida del Maestro Ascendido que las dictó. Por consiguiente, contienen la plena Victoria y Perfección de Maestro Ascendido"...) y teniendo tantos decretos realizados por los Maestros para toda situación por que primero no energizamos los mismos?
Recomendaciones para la Escuela del "YO SOY".......2005-12-27
Una de las gratas sorpresas que obtuve al leer este libro fue el constatar que los Maestros Ascendidos vertieron Su Radiación y ayuda concreta a la implementación y sostenimiento de escuelas cuyos directivos y docentes eran estudiantes de la Luz para ese entonces.
De ahí que en este número, incluyendo los dos anteriores y el siguiente, podemos encontrar instrucciones precisas para dirigir establecimientos escolares de cualquier nivel de educación. Por ejemplo, una de las ideas que dieron los Maestros Ascendidos consistía en establecer como hábito que los estudiantes -antes de comenzar sus clases diarias- se dirijieran a sus Presencias "YO SOY" con el decreto: "Encaro el Eterno Amanecer y llama de medio día de mi "Magna Presencia "YO SOY", y acepto ahora Su Magno Esplendor y Actividad visible y tangiblemente manifestos en mi ser y mundo por siempre."

La Amabilidad de Lady Nada en nosotros.......2005-12-27
En este segundo volumen hay que destacar el Discurso dado por la Maestra Lady Nada en 1937 ya que en él esta Maestra le indica a los estudiantes de la Luz a ser amables; a decir y sentir únicamente palabras y sentimientos amables, ya que ese comportamiento acarrea la descarga de todos los Poderes Internos dentro de nosotros.
La develación de este aspecto de la Ley ha sido para mí de mucho confort ya que por mucho tiempo había pensado que esos Poderes Internos se descargaban a punta de fuego, fuerza, empuje y todas esas cualidades que el ser humano despliega cuando quiere que las cosas sean "a su manera", teniendo en cada caso sólo magros resultados. De ahí que al leer y refleccionar en las Palabras de la esta bendita Maetra Ascendida sólo me queda dar gracias a Dios por haberme ayudado a entender esto, antes de que fuese demasiado tarde.

Explicación de la Lámina de la Presencia "YO SOY".......2005-12-27
En este volumen es sumanente destacable la clase sobre la Lámina de la Presencia "YO SOY". Si bien es la sección número 4 de esta enseñanza (las otras tres aparecen en los volúmnes anteriores de "La Voz del YO SOY") esta parte brilla de manera singular ya que devela algo que está confuso en la mayoría de los estudiantes de la Luz. Esto es: la ubicación del Cristo Interno. ¿Está en la Llama Triple? ¿Está entre el ser externo y la Presencia "YO SOY"? ¿Dónde está?
Estas preguntas muestran cuánto le gusta a la mente concreta que las cosas estén fijas. Nada más opuesto a la esencia del Cristo Interno la cual es -como lo muestra esta instrucción- el movimiento constante en el cual trae desde la Presencia "YO SOY" y el Cuerpo Causal del individuo todo el bien que requiere para traer Perfección al plano de la forma en que habita. Siempre y cuando esté armonioso. De no cumplirse eso, el Cristo Interno se ubica en un lugar entre la Presencia "YO SOY" y el Cuerpo Causal hasta que el ser externo se aquiete. Esto, querido lecto, es de gran importancia para nuestra comprensión de lo que debemos tener más claro que todo: cómo es y cómo actúa el Ser Divino anclado en nuestros corazones.

Enseñanza del Maestro K-17.......2005-12-27
De entre todas las joyas de Luz que contiene este libro, si hay una que me ha marcado este año 2005 es la dada por el Maestro K-17 en un Discurso dado el 6 de enero de 1939.
En ella dice algo que me había estado afectando sin saberlo. Muchas veces me preguntaba qué estaba pasando que aparentemente mis decretos y Llamados a la Luz no producían los resultados que esperaba.
¿Qué me dijo el Maestro Ascendido K-17? "Sea lo que fuere que hagan, amados estudiantes, no permitan que se entrometa en sus vidas nada arrogante ni dominante hacia su prójimo. Es lo más desintegrador que podrían hacer. Puede que se deba a que Yo he tenido mucho que ver con esa cualidad en la humanidad, pero Me parece que hacer pasar la Luz por la arrogancia es lo más difícil que hay."

Me encanta esta clase en el capítulo 91 reflejo de conciencia. Tu vida se refleja en los diversos espejos de tu alma, multiplicando tu dicha o tu desdicha. Si elevamos nuestras facultades de pensamiento y sentimiento al máximo de nuestras posibilidades al mensajero de la Presencia de Dios, nuestro santo ser crístico, nos traerá el amor, luz y poder que necesitamos en esta octava de manifestación para generar perfección.
El poder del canto.......2005-12-27
En este volumen creo importante destacar el Discurso de la Diosa de la Luz, titulado "Tres Puertas a la Liberación". Las Puertas a las que se refiere fueron actividades de los Maestros Ascendidos manifestadas en los años treinta las cuales ocurrieron debido a que los estudiantes conscientes acoplaron a sus decretos, cantos a la Presencia "YO SOY" y a la Hueste Ascendida.
De hecho, cantar es uno de los mejores antídotos para cualquier depresión y sin duda que abre la puerta a buenos sentimientos de parte del prójimo y de la vida elemental que se deleita en la radiación amorosa de un canto elevado a su reino.
De ahí el señalamiento de esta Maestra cuando dice en el discurso mencionado, "¿Me dirá alguo de ustedes que ustedes pueden cantar y no ser felices? De no estar felices y comenzar a cantar, pronto lo estarían. Es poco lo que el mundo exterior ha sabido de lo que el Poder de la verdadera música entraña para el mundo".
Enseñanza para los jóvenes.......2005-12-27
Es una maravilla poder contar con la Enseñanza contenida en estos libros que reunen lo publicado a través de la Revista "La Voz del "YO SOY" ya que hay aspectos de la Ley que no aparecen en ningún otro lugar de las casi 10 mil páginas de la Instrucción dada por los Maestros Ascendidos durante el siglo XX.
Es por eso que sinceramente recomiendo la lectura de este Libro, en especial, la sección dedicada a la iluminación de los jóvenes que aparece en el apéndice 2 bajo el título de "América Joven". En ella podemos ver, no sólo el fervoroso interés de los Maestros Ascendidos hacia los jóvenes de América, sino que se dan instrucciones claras y prácticas para orientar la edución de la gente joven de acuerdo a la Enseñanza del "YO SOY". Incluso es en esta sección en la que aparecieron publicados en los años treinta los famosos decretos para la erradicación de las entidades que habitaban EE.UU. las cuales fueron eliminadas por la Poderosa Astrea y otros Seres de Luz.
Exigiendo obediencia a la energía discordante.......2005-12-27
Este libro contiene la Enseñanzas de algunos de los Maestros Ascendidos acerca de la forma de utilizar de manera práctica la Ley Divina. La Instrucción de la Señora Cósmica Daphne me resultó singularmente práctica y maravillosa para aplicar en nuestras vidas diarias. Se trata de controlar nuestros mundos y relaciones (especialmente de lo que tenemos cerca) por medio del Llamado constante a la Gran Presencia "YO SOY" para que se haga cargo de personas, lugares condiciones y cosas. Nosotros no podemos saber lo que es mejor para una persona así que acudimos a Quien sí sabe: la Presencia de Dios individualizada en cada uno. Gracias Señora Daphne...

En este libro donde aparecen por vez primera la Presencia de tantos poderosos Seres de Luz -como el Maestro Cosmos, la Diosa de la Pureza, la Diosa de la Justicia y otros- es menester nombrar a la Maestra Rosa de Luz, cuya dulzura resalta con vapor propio.
Sin embargo, tal dulzura no debería engañar a nadie, pues ser dulce no implica letargo ni falta de firmeza. De hecho, esta Maestra se destaca por señalar de manera categórica que en la mayoría de los seres humanos el intelecto le ha dicho al corazón: "¡Cállate! ¡Aquí mando yo!". Lo cual ha sido un error. El corazón, dice esta Maestra, es la única facultad en el cuerpo que realmente conoce la Verdad. De ahí que es muy útil constantemente preguntarle al intelecto, "¿Tomaste esto del corazón?" Book Description
The world famous monastery at Monte Cassino was a key strongpoint on the Nazis' Gustav Line blocking the Allied advance on Rome.
From January to March 1944 there were four distinct battles for Cassino which was fiercely defended by German elite forces. Troops from USA, Britain, Poland, Canada, France and India were all thrown into the fray with appalling loss of life.

According to Barnatt, the evolution of cyberspace and computer mediated interaction is having a profound effect on civilization--it is altering our very perception of reality. In this thought-provoking book, he explores what our future view of reality is likely to be and how it will change our organizations--business, political and social. Barnatt emphasizes that this is by no means the first time humanity has dealt with shifts in our fundamental understanding of reality--religious, scientific and social revolutions have created many such periods. And so he holds that our best means of understanding what's to come is not merely to compare today to yesterday but to examine previous periods of massive change. He accomplishes this by analyzing five facets of the way we, as organizational creatures, view reality: the types of goals we set, the types of roles individuals play in organizational life, the types of media used to transmit ideas, the physical area that an organization can expect to dominate, and the types of work functions that enable the organization to function. He looks at all these facets in terms of fundamental structure rather than superficial form. For example, he sees the most important change in media to be the transition from single channel to multi-channel to the coming mega-channel rather than the obvious changes in speed and reach--although those are important as well. This fascinating book places the evolution of organization into historic perspective with emphasis on technology. The author examines the past, present and future of organization, focusing on: primary accomplishments; member status in organization, (slave, employee); communication of knowledge; geographic dominance; and the structure of work. The book analyzes the shift from feudal to cybernetic, organic organizations. Barnatt concludes with a profile of the future organization. This is the second of the"Future Trilogy." The first book, "Cyber Business," focuses on technology. This is an engrossing and highly informative work which we strongly recommend!
