The first third of thid book covers capturing digital images. The last 2 thirds mimic the manual that comes with the software. This is a typical computer users manual full of fluff and not much substance. Sorry but I took the book back to the store. So I would suggest looking around for a better book then this one.

This book INTRODUCES Elements, and as such was a great resource for me. Many people get this program bundled with hardware, like a digital camera (as I did,) and since there was no manual involved in the bundle I welcomed the introductory chapters which may have been redundant for others. Very thorough, very explanatory- definitely a valuable first guide to Elements.

Because of their mutually influencing interactions, information systems and modern manufacturing systems are intertwined. They have been so integrated that information systems have become an embedded and critical component of any effective manufacturing system. Required Reading for the Parents.......2006-06-13
As a youth leader, I would make this required reading for every parent if I had the budget and the power. Since I have neither, I will simply give my strong endorsement. The heart of this book is one of partnership. This is a theme that I feel passionate about and "After You Drop Them Off" provides a clear picture for becoming allies. The detailed descriptions and clearly communicated heart is important for both `rookie' and `veteran' parents.
Clark has a great skill of painting a picture of biblical principles in action in the relationship between a youth leader and a parent. I especially appreciated the perspective on being considerate to the youth leader as an individual. Whether that is through caring while constructively criticizing or simply encouraging your students leader without prompting, I feel like I would personally want to be treated this way.
This is also a great book for youth leaders. Not only will your head be continually nodding in agreement as you read, but it gives you insight into the parents world. Having worked with students for nearly nine years and not yet having my own children, it is easy to misunderstand where parents are coming from.
Any parent that wants to take an active role in the life of their young person should pick up a copy of "After You Drop Them Off". It will provide clarity and practical steps that parents can take to better their relationship with the allies they have in youth leaders.

One of the most divided regions of the Confederacy, East Tennessee was the site of fierce Unionist resistance to secession, Confederate rule, and the Southern war effort. It was also the scene of unrelenting 'irregular,' or guerrilla, warfare between Union and Confederate supporters, a conflict that permanently altered the region's political, economic, and social landscape. In this study, Noel Fisher examines the military and political struggle for control of East Tennessee from the secession crisis through the early years of Reconstruction, focusing particularly on the military and political significance of the region's irregular activity.
Fisher portrays in grim detail the brutality and ruthlessness employed not only by partisan bands but also by Confederate and Union troops under constant threat of guerrilla attack and government officials frustrated by unstinting dissent. He demonstrates that, generally, guerrillas were neither the romantic, daring figures of Civil War legend nor mere thieves and murderers, but rather were ordinary men and women who fought to live under a government of their choice and to drive out those who did not share their views.

Outstanding look at the other Civil War.......1999-11-07
The traditional picture of the Civil War, all the men of the North doing battle against all the people of the South, is a wildly inaccurate one. There was considerable Confederate sympathy here and there in the North. And bands of Unionists all over the South continued armed resistance to the Confederate government from secession until the end of the war. These battles were particularly brutal in Missouri, western Virginia, and in East Tennessee.
This book examines Tennessee's civil war. It looks at East Tennessee's difference from the rest of the state, starting from the colonial period and extending to the present day. It chronicles East Tennessee's unsuccessful attempt to follow West Virginia's lead and become a separate state. It documents the Confederate government's inept and occasionally brutal handling of the situation. And it looks at the postwar period, when Unionists in Tennessee took their revenge.
Vital.
One of the best books on a terribly neglected subject.......1997-11-16
In one of the best books written to date on the subject of partisanship and guerilla warfare in Eastern Tennessee during the Civil War, Noel Fisher gives the reader a distinct feeling of what it must have been like to live in a mountainous region that not only suffered from the Civil War as a whole, but from its own civil war as well.
From my perspective, as a descendant of a Unionist veteran of the East Tennessee region, I could emphasize for my ancestors as well as for others who espoused the Unionist cause. Descendants of the Confederacy will likewise feel for the deprivations their ancestors faced.
The book is remarkably well balanced and makes good use of many primary resources. Perhaps its one fault lies with fact that I was hoping for more personal experiences of the outrages that both Unionists and seccessionists suffered and inflicted upon one another. For this, I still have to be content with "The Thrilling Adventures of Daniel Ellis" by Daniel Ellis and with "History of the Thirteenth Regiment, Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry" by Samuel W. Scott and Samuel P. Angel. Perhaps at a later date someone will write the definitive history of the Civil War in the rugged reaches of East Tennessee, but until then, this will suffice.

While this is a nicely organized and easy to use guide, it has so few birds in it that I would recommend almost anything else over it. If you're a rank beginner, you might find it useful. If you have ANY experience at all, don't bother.
A Little Gem.......2006-08-14
This is a wonderful little book that is easy to use, even by a novice bird watcher. It is organized by the predominant color of the bird, starting with black and progressing through the colors to yellow. If males and females look different each will be listed separately, with a page reference to the other, a feature that I found very helpful.
Each bird entry consists of two pages. The first page is a nice photo of the bird. The second page includes a small diagram showing the bird's range, and the following description fields: size, male, female, juvenile, nest, eggs, incubation, fledging, migration, food, comparison to similar birds, and Stan's notes.
Finding birds by their predominant color was very easy to do. Where I wasn't quite sure which of two or three entries was the right one, the size, comparison to similar birds, or Stan's notes narrowed the choice down to the right bird. If you are a beginning bird watcher like me, I don't know of a better book. Advanced bird watchers may already know everything in this book and want something more detailed and comprehensive, but for the rest of us, I don't think you can beat the compact size and usefulness of this little gem.

I found this to be a great easy to use guide. It is intelligently organized, easy to use, and loaded with color pictures and detailed descriptions. I have really enjoyed having this handy this summer. An excellent value for the price.
