Good Place to Begin.......2006-03-17

This book is a good place to begin if you haven't made the move to digital yet. Although some of the information is a little dated with the rapid changes in cameras, there is still much that is valuable within this book.

This book is an excellent tutorial about Subprime lending. The theories are applicable from the get go and should be studied for anyone considering entry into the Subprime market, credit cards, auto loans, etc.

Highly Overpriced.......2004-11-25

This tiny book does address the issue of lending to subprime market, but it is severely overpriced. It is a collection of papers on topic lending to subprime market. You can do much better with Managing Consumer Lending Business from David Lawrence, you get more information than here, plus the book is much better organized and easier to read. I was dissapointed.

More important info on diabetes .......2007-07-18

The authors have done an excellent job in improving on their own excellence! What does that mean? It means they have outdone themselves. For example, they have successfully added an informative chapter to this issue on the topic of children and Type 2 Diabetes. For years, we were told that type 2 was largely a middle age on-set disease. Now with the eating habits and the "Couch Potato-Computer games" mindset of the younger generation, that is no longer true. Even the required Physical Education (gym class) has been eliminated in many schools. Hence, diabetes among young people is on the rise.

The new edition contains seventeen comprehensive, very well written chapters with an excellent list of sources from diabetes organizations, support groups and magazines written for diabetics--and all within 410 pages.

Chapters contain information on related problems associated with diabetes including sexual problems (in men and women), high blood pressure, foot pain, blindness, vascular problems, nerves, kidney and urinary problems.

The chapter on food is especially fine and informative reading as it relates to health. Invariably, most diabetics are overweight which, looking at the rules of cause and effect, being overweight has led to diabetes. The authors cover the facts on diet-loss fads that usually fail because people cannot control themselves with self discipline. They point out that the U.S. Government, for the first time, through their U.S. Dept of Agriculture food pyramid, encourages physical exercise as part of a healthy eating strategy. We are making progress, folks.

There isn't time or space available to point out all of the great aspects of this book. To foresee a need for this book--one only needs to observe people as they enter the fast food or all-you-can-eat restaurants or compare little chubby children with their parents--to come to the conclusion that obesity is a nasty problem in the U.S. and, of course, diabetes is a more serious problem.

This book should be read by all type 2 diabetics in the country and more importantly, read by the millions of undetected diabetics who wish to save their limbs, their eyes and their lives.

Excellent book.......2007-06-02

I found this book to be chock full of interesting and invaluable information. It explains so much about the ways this disease affects you and how important your eating habits are. It also explains in detail how the different types of medications work. I would recommend this book to any woman who has Type 2 diabetes.

A Big Help.......2006-08-02

I've been a nurse for 20 years and thought I knew enough about diabetes. Then I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and found myself asking alot of the same questions that I've heard other patients ask. This book was a big help to me and will be a big help for my family in understanding how to live with and control this condition.

Canadian Diabetes Source Book, a must for Canadian Diabetics.......2005-07-13

First let me say that there are many books written on Type 2 diabetes but most are US authors. Its great to have a book written for Canadian. There are some subtle differences on how the US and Canadians approach diabetes as well as some of the products that are available.

This book offers up the standard fair for diabetics. So like many of the other books on the market it really is not that much difference. What sets the book apart is that it uses Canadian References, measurements and guidelines. This is important to know when you are trying to research the diease.

If you are going to get one book and are Canadian this book would be the one to buy, it offers up a wide variety of subjects. From What is Diabetes, diet, exercise, medicines and how to live with the diasease.
