While somewhat biased towards ESRI software, this book still managed to capture the essence of what real LAs are doing with GIS. What it lacks in technical detail, it more than makes up for with its very nice graphics and maps.

Pose books are good quick desktop references but I recomend that you work from video, real war or war movies.
You'll be able to develope more dynamic poses yourself.

There's ton's of refereces on the web these day's.

Too much $.......2000-01-18

This is a great collection for people who like to draw comicbook-like art. I definitely recommend it, but my wallet is hurting after picking this one up. I'd like to buy some of the other books in this series, but I'm not made of money unfortuantely, so if anyone knows where I might find them cheaper, please email me. (pfisher60@hotmail.com)

I recommend this book to you because it has large pictures, but keep in mind most of these ones were taken about last 80's and doesn't show the actual city skyline.

The author's approach in making this book user friendly is long overdue. I have recommended it to many of my peers. The motivational tips at the end of each chapter are easy to implement immediately and the results in morale and productivity are seen right away. Most managers don't have all the knowledge they need to handle the myriad of human relations issues they are bombarded with everyday and they don't really like doing it, so this book makes it easy to follow the guidelines and get back to the business of running my business with confidence that the HR issues are handle effectively, efficiently and with compassion. This helps me to instill loyalty and keep good people. Thanks for writing this. I hope to hear the author speak on the book sometime in the near future.

Drawing on scores of interviews with black and white tobacco workers in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Robert Korstad brings to life the forgotten heroes of Local 22 of the Food, Tobacco, Agricultural and Allied Workers of America-CIO. These workers confronted a system of racial capitalism that consigned African Americans to the basest jobs in the industry, perpetuated low wages for all southerners, and shored up white supremacy.

Galvanized by the emergence of the CIO, African Americans took the lead in a campaign that saw a strong labor movement and the reenfranchisement of the southern poor as keys to reforming the South--and a reformed South as central to the survival and expansion of the New Deal. In the window of opportunity opened by World War II, they blurred the boundaries between home and work as they linked civil rights and labor rights in a bid for justice at work and in the public sphere.

But civil rights unionism foundered in the maelstrom of the Cold War. Its defeat undermined later efforts by civil rights activists to raise issues of economic equality to the moral high ground occupied by the fight against legalized segregation and, Korstad contends, constrains the prospects for justice and democracy today.

This is a terrific book--an important history that brings together a story of race, labor unions, economic change, politics, and culture, but never loses sight of the actual people involved. Very well written--not dry and academic like some history, but also very rich analytically. Buy it and read it!

Fabulous story, fabulous storytelling.......2003-06-28

In this wonderful book, African American tobacco workers tell their own story of civil rights struggle and union organizing. It is long, but so was the struggle, and I couldn't put it down. Oral interviews give us the black workers' own accounts, sending, for once, the white supremacists to the back of the bus.
Read it. You will find a South you never thought you would find.

This amazing airplane first flew in 1949 and is still in front-line service with the RAF. It has served in a variety of roles including those of tactical bomber, photo-reconnaissance, navigational trainer, maritime strike, electronic countermeasures and target-towing. It was manufactured in the USA under license as the Martin B-57 and has been exported to Argentina, Chile, India, Peru, South Africa and other Commonwealth countries.

This book looks at the development of the aircraft during the early days of jet power and especially at its Rolls-Royce Avon power-plant. Each of the many marks and variants are described and illustrated by many remarkable and rare photographs. The type's record of service with RAF squadrons throughout its service life is given together with descriptions of the many experimental models that were used in the development of a variety of weapons and avionic systems.

Some really serious and genuine research and work has gone into this book. i love the color profiles and esp. the one of the NASA bird. cool.
i also love the easy reading style, just because i like aircraft doesn't mean i want to be bored with reams of data. this author seems to realise this and tho with plenty of data (and some thats new i think), has written a a very good book, maybe, dare i say it, one of the best on this really interesting bird.

It describes in detail all of the important bird areas and best birdwatching sites in the country. Total mercury and mercury species (methylmercury-MeHg, inorganic mercury - Hg^2^+) were determined in the aquatic ecosystem Zahlinice (Czech Republic). Four tissues (muscle, intestines, liver and kidney) of three bird species - cormorant, great crested grebe and Eurasian buzzard, muscle tissues of common carp, grass carp, northern pike, goldfish, common tench, perch and rudd, aquatic plants (reed mace and common reed), sediments and water were analysed. Relative contents of MeHg (of total Hg) were in the range from 71% to 94% and from 15% up to 62% in the muscle and intestines and in liver, respectively, for all birds. Statistically significant differences were found between contents of MeHg in liver tissues of young and adult cormorant populations (F"4"."6"0=56.71, P <10^-^5). Relative contents of MeHg in muscle tissues of fishes were in the range from 65.1% to 87.9% of total Hg.
