good introduction to heating lighting and cooling systems in buildings. Covers basic physical principles, human response, design response to site and ong emphasis on passive systems with lighter coverage of mechanical and electrical systems. Lots of wroked examples, case studies, design guidelines, and illustrations by the author. Useful both as a text for architecture students as well as a refresher for practitioners.

The text starts with basic information relating to the environment and site analysis, then provides detailed design concepts for practical use. Even the individual who just wants a single source for receiving a working knowledge of how to evaluate a site's characteristics with regard to the environment would benefit from this text.

this is not hard core yoga, but really who can do that at work anyway? this book has nice, effective yoga moves that can be done at work without changing clothes or drawing alot of attention to yourself. the book is small but hardcover, i have mine on my desk and it always grabs peoples attention. i've reached for this in stressful moments and was glad i had it. the book would make a nice gife. i also have the lovers' yoga and i really, really like that one!

When do you need this book ? Got buried by hundreds of unread e-mails and a project deliverable deadline closing fast.
Just one simple pose, fold yourself down, you will feel "hope". That ! Is the greatest benefit from this book.
It works for me and my co-workers, it probably can work for you as well, as long as you mind your physical limitation, don't push too much or get hurt.

Office Yoga is a wonderful book for just about anyone. If you sit at a desk, at home in front of the TV or fly I recommend this book to stretch your muscles and mind. The simple to follow techniques can be done anywhere and in a short period of time, and what a difference they make. I carry this book with me when I travel...its like having your own private yoga instructor!

Sometimes, I'll come across a little book that will
surprise you . . . such was the case with OFFICE YOGA by
Darrin Zeer . . . though only 93 pages (in a smallish 4.5 x 6
binding), it nevertheless contained many useful techniques that
make it the perfect desk accessory for busy professionals.

I also liked the accompanying illustrations by Michael
Klein . . . they made it easy to follow Zeer's advice.

Among the ideas that caught my attention were the following:
* Red Light Rejuvenation

This also works on planes and trains.

Sit back, relax, and gently roll your head in circles.

Shrug your shoulders up and down, breathing in rhythm as you do.

Become on with the traffic flow.

* Antidote for road rage

Stop-and-go traffic make you nuts? Loosen up your windpipes

This book is a great light introduction to Yoga. It breaks up activities for morning, work and after work. The work activities are not to difficult, time consuming or attention getting.

This critique of political risk insurance (PRI), the type of insurance used by large-scale mining projects, includes six case studies that show how PRI has severe negative social and environmental impacts on mining communities. Included are descriptions of such landmark cases as the Omai gold mine in Guyana, which was insured through PRI by the World Bank and the Canadian government and whose waste facilities completely collapsed, causing the country's worst environmental disaster in recorded history. Mid-Appalachian Frontier: A Guide to Historic Sites of the French and Indian War.......2007-01-09

I spend a lot of time doing historic re-enactments of the French and Indian War time period and found this book to be an excellent source of information.

Great F&I War guide.......2005-10-14

This is an excellent guide to historic sites associated with the French and Indian War in the mid-Appalachian region (PA, VA, MD, WV, and extreme western NY). Sites are arranged in chapters mainly according to location, though sometimes by events (Pontiac's War, Braddock's March). Western PA, the Conococheague Valley in central PA, and the Virginia Frontier are examples of chapters headings.

Swift describes each site in terms of its historical significance, gives specific driving instructions for locating each site, and includes photographs of what can be seen today at each site. Swift is thorough (nothing of any significance is left out, including sites located on private property) and informative. A must-have book for anyone interested in the F&I War, especially for those who might want to see sites for themselves.

Important French & Indian War sites.......2002-12-22

I thought that this was an excellent book that listed many of the important F&I sites(and a lot of the minor ones too).He puts a face on the people who were involved in this great "War for Empire".
