The book introduces German talented structural engineer:Jorg schlaich and his office's work.
The work ranges from super-long span bridge, or tiny, but state-of-art footbridge, solar power system and so on.
The book covers his early career:Munich Olympic stadium, to most recent work like Frank Gehry's DG Bank Berlin.
Especially, in my opinion,arch-shaped bridge (pathway has curved plan) is most significant one.
If you want to know most up-to-date structural technique, this is the one.
Regrettably,explanation for each project is not long enough because of much number of projects.

As a husband whose wife does not go to church with him, I read this book from the perspective of a man having a similar problem but with his wife - the same spiritual truths apply to men! If a man would implement what this book instructs, he too could learn to operate in faith and allow God to move on his situation. Armed with knowledge of the scriptures and an understanding of the actions I can take, I have every expectation that my wife will soon be going to church with me! This book provided me with the hope and tools that not only this situation but any situation I may face can be turned around by God

Faith in Action.......2007-06-25

As a single woman, never married, I was not sure how this book would apply to me. I found this book to be an outstanding account of "Faith in Action." The biblical references and examples of standing in faith for God's promises apply to all of us. I was moved by the honesty of the author to share her experience and the willingness of her husband to allow this story to be told. I also learned a lot about the importance of respecting your husband, standing on the promises of God (regardless of how the situation looks) and faith that the Lord will accomplish his plan for our life if we don't give up. It is a story of hope, perseverence and victory! I highly recommend it.

When I started reading this book I could not put it down. I was astounded by its practicality to my every day life. The principles used in this book can be applied to any situation. The book is a loaded with scriptures and also real life experiences which gives you hope that you are not alone. Loved the book, and greatly recommend it.

Excellent Read!.......2007-04-12

This book lends instruction on how to get the promises of God to manifest in your life. The best kind of prayer is ANSWERED PRAYER. It is a read that will get you excited about what is truly available to you through the scriptures. I have never read a book that offers instruction on 'How to be baptized in the Holy Spirit'. These principles apply to anything that you are praying for, not just a husband who isn't going to church. It's worth its weight in scriptures!

In this book you are always guessing. I had read this book awhile back and it is a very remembered book. It is a very big mystery story and is a little sad. It is definitely one of Marilyn's best.

Fast. Tight. Enjoyable........2002-08-16

Unequally Yoked is the third mystery in the Tempe Crabtree series. Though reading a series in order seems to make the most sense, Marilyn Meredith is successful at reintroducing continuing characters with in a fresh way each time, that the books easily stand solid on their own.

A homeless family is spending nights in a campsite, sleeping in tents and using the back of a stationwagon for their house. The woman, Jan, has three children. The man, Andy Muldock, is their stepfather. Muldock had his own family at one time. His wife left had left him and his kids had been taken away from him. He had been abusing drugs and had been getting violent with his kids.

Tempe Crabtree is a deputy in the small town of Bear Creek. Her daily tasks have her working to keep peace and harmony. However, Crabtree, as always, gets caught up in an investigation that takes her beyond her daily assignments as a police deputy. Jan's youngest daughter, Vicky, turns up missing. Crabtree is assigned the job of locating the missing girl. Based on Muldock's shady past and some incriminating evidence, it seems more likely that foul play has occurred, rather than the child wandering off and getting lost in the night.

In this particular installment, Crabtree's search for answers, her quest for the truth, cause an enormous amount of turmoil in her recent marriage to area preacher, Hutch. Crabtree, who is part Native American Yanduchi, allows herself to be open and explore some of the rituals of her ancestry. Fearing the spiritual methods clash with Christian beliefs, then tension between husband and wife threaten to keep Crabrtee from wholeheartedly hunting down everything it is that she is looking for to ease some of Jan's suffering.

Though each book has been entertaining and fast-paced, to date, Unequally Yoked is my favorite. It is a little grittier and hard-boiled. There is more tension. A knot was in my stomach, chapter after chapter, anxious to see what would happen. The good thing, though I finished this fine mystery thriller, is that I still have Intervention to read-the fourth book in the Tempe Crabtree series.

I couldn't put this book down! It held my interest till the very end. Marilyn Meredith writes a great story, a must read. I cannot wait for the next in the Tempe Crabtree series.

Solid, if speculative reconstruction of a great ancient event.......2006-10-07

Rodney Castleden's "The Attack On Troy" is a solid reconstruction, necessarily with a good deal of speculation, of the events behind the epic poems of Homer. Castleden accepts the historical reality of the (or at least "a") Trojan War,) as do many modern archaeologists and historians of the ancient war, and in this book he presents palusible evidence for so doing. Castelden, like many others, places this war about 1250 BCE, at the end of the VIh phase of the city, but he does not neglect discussion of alternatives favored by others. Perhaps the most tenuous bit of speculation on Castleden's part is his equation of the mysterious but flambouyant figure of Piyamaradus (found in Hittite clay tablet records dealing with western Anatolia) with the Greek hero Achilles. However, for the most part Castleden backs up his reconstruction of events with frequent references to archaological work of the recent past.

Another reviewer at this site charged Castelden with displaying a pathological hatred of Germans, especially the early archaeologist Hermann Schliemann. This attack puzzles me, as I see nothing highly negative in Castelden's relatively few references to Schliemann (whose excavation methods were undeniably crude by modern standards and his treatment of colleagues less than generous) and no evidence of this supposed pathological hatred of anything German.
