casual living and ample size for all the grandkids.

Key West Style.......2002-01-16
I owned this book for several years until Mr.Right came along.
We built a cottage from this books plans. I love it. Watch out for closet space though, there isnt any but the ceilings are high and the choice of colors, especially if you turn to the Coral Beaches of Key West for inspiration are perfect for this house. I recommend the book. The pictures are watercolors though so you'll need to use your imagination.
High Expectations, Low results.......2001-07-19
I found this book to be a real disappointment; the "cottages" would be better identified as sea side mansions. Moreover, if you've done any type of browsing through home plan books, you'll recognize this collection--the plans have been printed in many other books albeit without the soft pastel colors added to the pictures of the "cottages" contained in this book. The colors, combined with a high grade printing paper make for a wonderful coffee table book but, zero practicality lies within the pages.
Many of the "cottages" featured are over 2000 sq. ft........2000-05-05
Although the designs are interesting and varied, I was disappointed to find that instead of a book of small cottages, over half the book contained houses large enough for a full family with room to spare. The term "cottages" in the title is misleading.
Fresh, original, beautifully illustrated designs.......1999-08-10
For anyone who has seen the movie, "The Truman Show," and wanted to move into his town, these are the houses you're looking for. The floor plans are delightful, and most are suited for the narrow lot restrictions in a waterfront community. Designed for privacy, and to make the most of a view lot, I would highly reccomend these plans for anyone building a dream vacation home.

My son received this book for Christmas and LOVES it. It's a great book for anyone that loves to draw - it breaks everything down for you and has a step by step illustration for every picture in the book.

Tackles Well the Concerns of Wedding & Portrait Photographers.......2005-11-28
"Wedding and Studio Portrait Photography: The Professional Way" by Jonathan Hilton
Johathan Hilton has written a useful and informative book for the professional. The book is divided into two sections, one on wedding photography and the other on portrait photography. As a bonus, at the end are the portfolios of three wedding and two portrait photographers that are inspirational to view.
The wedding section follows a wedding in logical sequence, from wedding preparations to the reception. Each image here is diagramed to show the way it was taken, the lights used, and what the photographer was trying to accomplish. In short, a useful reference. The images shown here would be a good checklist for wedding photographers, to make sure nothing is missed. There are plenty of useful sidebars with Hints and Tips.
This book was written in the pre-digital age, yet surprisingly has aged very well, since it focuses on techniques that are universal to all photographers, film or digital. Modern photographers will smile at the quaint discussion of camera gear, yet another reminder to publishers not to include this information as it dates your book too quickly. Still, "Wedding and Studio Portrait Photography" should not be overlooked because of this, since outdated equipment discussions are left quickly by page 13.
The portrait section revolves around "The Four Ages" i.e., babies, youth, maturity, and old age. This section has stunning images and the same wonderful diagrams as the wedding section, to allow the reader to recreate the images.
This is a well written book that tackles well the specific concerns of wedding and portrait photographers.
Recommended.
Informative, but photos are dull.......2004-01-23
I found this book helpful because most of the photos are accompanied by an illustration that explains how the lighting was achieved. However, the photos are very outdated (circa 1980) and a bit cheesy. They didn't inspire me to go out and replicate them. A better book is Bambi Cantrell's "The Art of Wedding Photography: Professional Techniques with Style". This one is much more modern and innovative.

I think that this book is great for war info on hand to hand combat. It works great with paintball, too because it shows you the most effective way to move under fire, set up smart, defensive lines, bases and anything else that an infantryman should know. Its awesome.
