First, I am not a lawyer, but a praticing design/ contruction professional. I have used this book for years. I find it very well written and easy to use. I have loaned it to so many lawyers when thing get tight that I don't remember all of them. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has to deal with contracts and construction. When things start to go sour, its a great resource for all parties involved.

This is probably the most comprehensive construction law book I have ever read. It is an absolute must for a law student taking construction law.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too complicated.......2003-05-14

If you happen to be studying construction law IN LAW SCHOOL, then this is your book.

If, on the other hand, you are in the construction business and are looking for a practical book on construction law, keep looking. This is not your book. It is extremely difficult to read and Sweet writes in such a sophisticated manner that it borders on arrogance. It's not uncommon to find entire paragraphs that consist of one sentence. I found myself scratching my head and asking, "what in the hell did he just say?" Re-reading convoluted law text is not fun.

The beautifully buried Abu Simbel - Ramese of Egypt.......2001-05-29

It is an image collection of Egypt, taken by the French master Felix Teynard during 1851-52. The magnificent views of ancient monuments, architecture and landscape further reveals the unconsicous passage of time. These images were first published in Paris in 1958. One remarkable image is the Abu Simbel, which clearly showed the rightmost statue of Ramese still paritally buried under sand. Initially I found the picture of Abu Simbel (page 97) from 'Black & White' photography magazine, which is taken from the sand slope. I was deeply impressed and attracted by the beautiful portrait of the Ramese statue, the special angle that enforce the mystery of this ancient monument. And then I discovered this book 'Calotypes of Egypt' from a bookstore when I travelled to Cairo of Egypt in 2000.

Prior to this helpful little book, there was nowhere we men could turn to for a few pointers on how to traverse this tricky terrain. That's all changed now. I thought this book was a very touching story of how a man found out late in life that his entire family had been keeping an enormous secret from him his entire life.The secret of who his real father was.This book also tells the story of how he got to know his father throughout his life and felt he knew who he was but was never able to voice his thoughts aloud. It's hard to imagine going through life not knowing who you are,and then to find out to late that the only person you felt a connection to was actually your father,and now that man was gone.It's good for me to know that there are still people out there that can forgive someone the way this man did his mother.It was also very inspiring how he overcame his anger through prayer and with the help of GOD and his family.I recommend for anyone who enjoys heartfelt, truly touching and inspiring true stories to read this book!

The pelecaniformes are a large and important group of seabirds, containing many spectacular species. This book addresses the breeding biology of the six pelecaniform families, which comprise the closely-related core groups (pelicans, cormorants/shags, darters, gannets/boobies) and their more distant relatives, the frigate birds and tropic birds. Many fundamental questions can be addressed through the pelecaniformes: Why do they breed in colonies? What are the links between their feeding methods and their reproduction? What part does territorial and pairing behaviour play in their life-cycles? These and scores of comparable issues, including those related to man, are woven here into a richly interpretative text. The author's approach to the subject is threefold. First, the pelecaniformes are placed within the framework of four discrete disciplines, with chapters on evolutionary relationships, comparative behaviour, ecology, and the birds' relationship with humans. Secondly, each of the six families is discussed, elucidating the range of taxonomy, behaviour, and ecology within each. Finally, we progress to specific level, using the same structure as for the family accounts. In this way, each of the 60-odd species can be understood not just as discrete units, but as part of their family and order. The book is unique in its coverage of the entire order and in its combination of facts and interpretation. Pelicans, Cormorants, and their Allies will enable readers not only to identify the many spectacular species which make up this large and important group of seabirds, but also to understand their breeding biology.
