Having purchased the wonderful Survival Guide for the Elementary/Middle School Art Teacher I expected this to also be a spiral bound book filled with tons of great ideas and projects. It is a relatively thin book with a few good ideas and the rest projects that I've done before. Maybe my expectations were too high.

There are not many books out there which is specifically for secondary level. A very resourceful book to have especially when you are in a sole charge department and have to teach across the different art fields at secondary level. It is also handy for those days when your mind goes blank and you have to come up with some quick exercises. Once you have gained confidence, you can also adapt them.

As a beginner teacher I found this book useful to fill in gaps in my own knowledge. It has step by step instructions for all basic art programs and is a good benchmark for when you are setting up your own programs. Things like plaster casting, clay modeling, pinhole photography, watercolours etc all have units of work. Although I did not use whole units I did use parts of the program to help create a foundation for my own work. Not a book you'd use everyday, but definately handy. I wish I had found it in my first year of teaching!

Great book for advanced art classes, but not for studio art.......2006-02-25

As a first year teacher I bought this book to help me out with the school year. There are many good projects in here for advanced classes, such as drawing and painting, sculpture, etc. However in this day in age its really sad that half the projects I would want to do for my studio classes I can't because they involve using knives, irons, etc. Its just to dangerous and I hate I have to think about my students stealing knives. Overall this book is great if you are able to teach advanced classes at the High School level. I would not recommend this book if you teach regular studio.

Wonderful tool for anyone involved in theater.......2007-04-30

This handy guide covers literally every aspect of putting on a production, and not only does it apply to high school theater, it is extremely helpful for any level of theater, from elementary, to high school, to amature, to community, to professional.
Margaret Johnson covers basics from selecting shows, to securing the theater, to casting and auditions to opening night.
The best part is that this book doesn't read like stereo instructions, there are personal touches from the author through out including her memories and stories of different shows she has worked on.
This book also includes audition sheets and other pages you can photo copy to pass out and have actors fill out.

Literally every question you could possibly have involving your theatrical production, this book covers it. Nothing will remain unanswered.

Also, it's important to note that I'm not a high school drama teacher, but I am a long-time theatrical passionate and I have been using this book as a holy grail while directing my first show.

Complete waste of Money.......1999-11-18

This book was basicly about 100 pages of "just buy a descrambler". The rest is composed of unrelated or useless information that is only there to add wieght to the book. Absolutely nothing about how to actually get channels for free. The bulk of the knowledge contained in this book could be gotten from a ten minute conversation with an average "radio shack employee". It is currently gathering dust untill winter when it can actually be of some use..

I think the book touches some good techniques but overall i consider it a average book. I really dont think its worth the money. But for starters its all right.

This book is a must have for any new mother. I was lucky enough to receive it as a gift with the birth of my first child. I referred to it often & it was very helpful. Items are easy to locate when you only have a few seconds to read. In addition, as my child grows older, I am able to continue using the book as a quick reference guide. It is a great gift for any new mother or as a gift for yourself.

I recently had the opportunity to read an amazing book called "Moms' Lifesavers, Tips to make Life Easier for New Mothers", by Christine Cohen and Joanne Tocci.

This is a wonderful resource for new moms or a refresher course for other moms.

Moms' Lifesavers starts with the basics before the baby arrives, and leads you through breastfeeding, preschool and beyond. I love the money saving tips and recipes for fun. Truly inventive! These two moms have done their homework, and it shows.

My personal favorite, is the milestone section. They have included a place for date and comments, from birth to age five. I am sure all moms want to complete a baby book with all the milestones, but that takes a lot of effort and TIME. Moms' Lifesavers has the perfect place to write about all those milestones and more. Everything right at your fingertips.

It is an indispensable guide you'll reach for every time!

My mother just gave me this book and I wish I'd had it six months ago when my baby was born. There are tons of baby books out there but this one gets to the point quickly -- and it doesn't weigh ten pounds. The teething chapter is great, the tips are smart, the authors are moms like me --- and it's like have a best friend that you can call at 3 in the morning. Bravo! I highly recommend it. It's the gift I'm giving to all my new mom friends.

If you're a modeler, you'll love this book. I was just looking for some info on the plane and it's history. Although that is also covered, it's not quite as in depth as I had wanted. Reviews of different A-10 model kits at the back of the book which were nice.

If you want to build an A-10 kit, get this book. For starters, it has in the back reviews of about a dozen kits. And if you want to do detail work on your model, all the photos you need are in here

If you're an aviation buff and want to read about the world's #1 tank killing plane, you'll find a lot in here as well. History from original concept through deployment, lots of photos of the plane in action.

Not A Great Read but Loaded With Information.......2005-11-13

I am always excited when another book by the Saban Center is produced so when Deadly Connections was released I had to get my hands on it. The book, while dry, is loaded with facts and diagrams on top terror supporting nations. If you aren't interested in Middle Eastern affairs or terrorism than this won't be worth your money.

The author does a supreme job with describing state connections to terrorist groups across the globe, from Syria sponsoring groups like the PFLP-GC to Iran giving aid to Islamists and Hizbullah. The graphs and diagrams presented also give the facts more credibility in addition to making it easier for some to understand. For most people studying Middle East history or writting a paper on Middle Eastern nations connections to terrorist activity I would highly recommend this book. For the average person just wanting to have basic knowledge on terrorism, this may not be for them.
