The girls head to London only to be enslaved and degraded at the hands of the sex-mad Dr. Jeckll!
Customer Reviews:
What in the Hell!?.......2006-10-10
This is the continuation of the the two witches, Lilian and Agatha, who just escaped the horrorible fate of the institute now burned down to the ground. Cold and only have each other the women try to find refuge in London. Suddenly they come across a carriage and a man named Dr. Jekyll offers them a ride and something to drink. What they don't know is that the drink is drugged and they find themselves in a dungeon strapped to the bed naked with other women who are suffering the same fate. The girls now know that they are being held captive by the evil Mr. Hyde. They drug the girls with a device that they insert in their vaginas (Spoiler) called "Enema" which brings up their sex drive and Mr. Hyde, his servant, and their fat lesbian maid all take advantage of their helplessness. Along with that,Sherlock Holmes comes on the scene trying to investigate the prostitution murderings of Jack the Ripper!
I like this book because it was more thrilling than the first. It had alot of sex in it but it also brought in some drama, plot, and gory violence. Not too mention wondering if the girls were ever going to get the hell out of their sex prison and defeat the evil Mr. Hyde before its too late.
2nd in the Series, and the best book of that series.......2005-03-29
Collection of six black and white adult graphic books released 1995-1996 by Solano Lopez & Barreiro.
London, 19th century. Lilian Cunnington and Agatha are the sole survivors of their witch school, which burned to the ground. Wandering along a roadway after the fire, wearing little, they are picked up by an rather nice doctor passing by in a privately owned stagecoach. Dr. Jekyll takes them home with him to London.
While Dr. Jekyll is detained, the girls are offered some lovely tea. Unfortunately for them, it has been drugged. Now they are prisoners, constantly feed drugs, in the basement of a nightclub like establishment with other female prisoners. The drugged women provide entertainment at the nightclub/brothel-like place (without the private rooms).
The book includes Dr. Jekyll, Jack the Ripper, Sherlock Holmes (and Dr. Watson), bestiality, drugs, murder, violence, sex, Dr. Sigmund Freud (helping a Mr. Robert Louis Stevenson), Albert Einstein, some masked man (possibly a royal), a nun, Conan Doyle, Winston Churchill, and some attempted ritual sacrifices.
The drawing is rather good, though somewhat hindered by being black & white. The plot is strong, and the characterization and personalities of the main characters are quite developed. Overall, a better book than its predecessor (and, so far, the best book in the series, which so far is up to Volume 6).
Note, names used above are spelled like they are in the book).
Charmed this isn't.......2001-02-28
This is a quantom leap forwards from the first YW book. It's evident both the writers and artist have learned from their prior experience.
The story takes place straight after the end of book 1 where our heroines are picked up in a coach containing the famous Dr Jeckle This sets the town for the rest of the book with a strong story, driven along alternately by sex and cameos of famous Victorian londoners (Sherlock Holmes, Jack the Ripper, etc).
Special praise must be made of the art already the strongest part of the series this looks amazing here especialy as they remember that this is a porn comic and put some sex scenes in there this time .
This time it's definately worth a look my only criticism is that a better introduction so that anyone who missed book 1 could pick the story up painlessly would have helped. If you've read book 1 this is a must if you haven't I'd start here and not worry too much at the references you don't get

Good overall reference........2007-07-19
Good overall reference for filmmaking, for the beginner. For the experienced, good reminder of the basics that one might have forgotten.
Filmmaking for Dummies.......2005-07-19
The book is very helpful. It brings a lot of good information for new filmmakers. You can find tricks, terminologies, tips, techniques, and more to start your career as a new filmaker. There are many good material to learn. The author uses recent movies as examples. It covers many aspects of the filmmaking industry and how to make a low budget film. Beside, the book brings a lot of links to interesting web pages related with the filmaking industry.
Well written, but content is misguided.......2004-04-16
I read this book, as well as others, because I'm taking a stab at filming a screenplay with some other people. I have enjoyed some of the other dummies books, but I thought this one was off target. It is very high level. For example, in the first or second chapter, he goes over what the job roles are for the production assistant, and ten other job titles you might see at the end of a Hollywood movie, and I'm thinking to myself, am I really going to have a full-time grip on my movie? I was hoping this book would focus on the nuts and bolts of making a small-budget / zero-budget film, but it talked about numbers that apply to people who aren't going to be reading a dummies book. On the whole, I thought it was a real surface look at independent filmmaking, and would be appropriate for someone who wanted to learn about it, but not do it. You would be better off buying IFILM Filmmakers Handbook and some individual books on lighting and sound if you really want information about how to make your own film. A lot of the information in this book can be found on the web, also.
Perty Good Book.......2004-03-09
Hey. Well, I got lade off at the plant, so I got this book. Its a reall good book. Now Im going make a movie about how I used to work at the plant, get me one of them oscars. Next thing, Im moving to hollywood. Or maybe even california!
Do like me ant get this book.
The Best Filmmaking Course on a Budget!.......2003-09-06
I always love to learn about subjects that interest me, and even though I may have read through dozens of books on a subject to gain the maximum know-how about it, it's always a thrill to pick up a read that is truly superb. Bryan M. Stoller, the author of Filmmaking for Dummies, has accomplished one of the best jobs on this subject matter that I've found so far over the years. He's categorical and precise and I'd call it the best Filmmaking Course on a budget. The reader can learn in this inexpensive book just as much as in many 8-week filmmaking courses that often cost thousands of dollars and the good part is that with this book you already have the notes printed in front of you. The author offers a volume of resources discussing the differences of using actual film vs. video and new 24fps digital camcorders like the Panasonic AG-DVX100 Cinema Camera. He has excellent chapters on lighting, sound and camera filters, as well as on the commercial aspect of idependent film distribution and film festivals, etc. This is a very practical, right-to-the point book and it's an enormous resource from a qualified guy who's been interested in filmmaking for a long time and who has at least 20 years of on-hand in-the-field experience. Stoller also offers very helpful Website addresses for further information, even where to buy or rent equipment, etc., etc. Every aspiring and even professional filmmaker will definitely benefit from this book. Amazingly, this book is so updated as if it was just written a few weeks ago including the newest technological developments regarding digital film formats.
Book Description
Why does the brain create music? In Beethoven's Anvil, cognitive scientist and jazz musician William Benzon finds the key to music's function in the very complexity of musical experience. Music demands that our symbol-processing capacities, motor skills, and emotional and communicative skills all work in close coordination--not only within our own heads but also with the heads (and bodies) of others. Music is at once deeply personal and highly social, highly disciplined yet open to emotional nuance and interpretation. It's precisely this coordination of different mental functions, Benzon argues, that underlies our deep need to create and participate in music. At once daring and scholarly, this remarkable book offers a sweeping vision of a vital, underappreciated force in our minds and our culture.

Nice Ideas, but No Focus or Foundation.......2002-11-27
I cannot recommend this book. He puts forth some interesting ideas, but it is all conjecture. There is no scientific or historical foundation. It's all "could be", and "might be", and "may be", which becomes very frustrating. It also lacks focus. It drifts from topic to topic without a coherent driving thesis. Save your time and money.
A lucid conjecture about music and foundations of society.......2002-07-24
It took a cognitive scientist who is also a musician to notice an obvious but scientifically ignored linkage: making music together is something that enables humans to improvise cooperation on the fly. Benzon uses his own experiences as a musician to tie the extensive citations in biology, psychology, sociology, and economics into a sense-making narrative. Benzon believes that when people make music together they create a kind of shared brain-state that exists in no single head, but emerges from the synchronized communications of a group. and uses an impressive body of knowledge to back up his case. Benzon might be proved right and he might be proved wrong, but he uses solid science and creative conjecture to make a highly readable as well as reasonable case.
Explores links between music and brain functioning.......2002-01-06
Music and culture are discussed, not with the usual artistic focus, but with a healthy blend of science and sociology added to the mix. Is music a luxury, an art, or a biological need? William Benzon's Beethoven's Anvil explores links between music and brain functioning, using the history of music and its evolution to draw some important arguments about music's importance to brain functioning as a whole.
Book Description
This book examines the various norms for the logic and methodology of science, placing them in the context of the cognitive interests and explanatory ideals that motivate science. Various themes in the philosophy of science are examined, including the views of K. Popper, T. Kuhn and L. Laudan. Characteristic cases of scientific theories are examined in order to illustrate and justify the proposed norms. These include, on the one hand, the emergence of the science of Galileo, Kepler and Newton from the older metaphysical style of explanation to be found in Aristotle, and, on the other hand, Darwin's theory of natural selection.
Also included are characteristic cases of pseudoscience, including creation science, Lysenkoism, Velikovsky, UFOs and ancient astronauts, astrology, parapsychology, and various kinds of alternative medicine. From these examples and the more theoretical discussion, there emerge a series of norms for demarcating science and pseudoscience.
Various aspects of the scientific method are examined in detail, including the role of hypotheses, the logical structure of theories, how these relate to the experimental methods of John Stuart Mill. The book concludes with a discussion of various problems concerning data collection; for example, what do we say about observational reports of the existence of UFOs? In this context there is a discussion of some of the issues raised in the so-called "science wars." It is concluded that the sociology of science can at times be helpful to the scientific community in improving their methods of investigation.

it is a snoozer.......2004-11-24
This book puts one to sleep in the first few pages.
I studied at Brooklyn College and have found his books much like his teaching technique. In my opinion, both, are taught from a left wing perspective with limited useful information.
This book is an example of how textbooks are probably one of the most overpriced items in the book industry. this book is worth about $9.99, if anything

Book Description
"This valuable source for a systematic and comprehensive understanding of Durkheim's ideas on the family constitutes a major addition to the literature on the family, social theory, women's studies, and family law. Highly recommended for upper-division undergraduates and above."
-CHOICE
Emile Durkheim on the Family is intended to bring attention to this classical sociologistâs work on the family. Durkheimâs writings in this area are little known, but the family was nevertheless one of his primary interests, the subject of an intended book that was never written. Durkheimâs ideas on the family appear only in scattered sources and a number of those sources have not been translated into English. Durkheimâs Sociology of the family has not heretofore been presented and analyzed holistically.
The purpose of Lamannaâs book is to bring together Durkheimâs ideas on the family from diverse sources and to present his family sociology systematically and comprehensively. Quotations from Durkheimâs writing or speaking enrich the analysis. Durkheimâs work on the family is situated in its historical context and comparisons are drawn to present-day sociology of the family is situated in its historical context and comparisons are drawn to present-day sociology of the family and family issues.
Chapter topics include:
- Durkheimâs life and times
- His evolutionary theory of the family
- Methodologies for studying the family
- The changing relationship of kin
- Conjugal family and the state
- The interior of the family
- Family policy
- Gender
- Sexuality
An examination of Durkheimâs work on the family reveals its close connections to his wee-known books and theories.
Emile Durkheim on the Family should interest audiences in sociology of the family, social theory, family science, European intellectual history womenâs studies, legal history, and those generally interested in family studies and / or nineteenth and early twentieth century Europe.

Best Book on Forts Henry and Donelson.......2006-03-27
The events of February, 1862 at Forts Henry and Donelson have long been overshadowed by other Civil War events. While most people, then and now, focus on the Eastern Theatre of the war, it was in the west that the war was won and lost. The fall of these forts opened the door to the Deep South and the end of the Confederacy. In my opinion, these events are among the ten most important events of the war, far more important than Gettysburg.
Unlike in Virginia where the rivers run east-west forming a barrier to the south, the rivers in Tennessee run north-south providing access to the Deep South. The front in Virginia was relatively narrow (Chesapeake Bay to Blue Ridge Mountains) while in Tennessee the front stretched hundreds of miles from the Mississippi River to the Appalachian Mountains. To cover this extensive area the Confederates had a much smaller force than in Virginia. Futhermore, while the Confederacy had an advantage in generalhip in Virginia, the Union had the superior generalship in Tennessee. The result was inevitable and began at the river forts.
Fort Henry on the Tennessee River, partially under the water, easily fell to Union gun boats on February 6. The river was open all the way to Muscle Shoals in northern Alabama. Ten days later, the Confederates surrendered at Fort Donleson on the Cumberland River. This forced the Confederate evacuation of Nashville, an important industrially city of the South. The combination of losses forced the Confederates to withdraw from central and western Tennessee to Corinth, Mississippi than foresaw the Battle of Shiloh.
Benjamin Franklin Cooling has written the best book on this campaign. His experience as historian at Fort Donleson National Battlefield make him well qualified to write on the subject. His knowledge of the material and especially the terrain pay dividends.
Yet there are some flaws. At times, Cooling strays away from military history toward academic's fascination with social history. As some of you know, in the aftermath of the Vietnam War, academics declared war on military history. In their opinion, military history is unworthy of study and have turned to social history even when writing on military topics. But as Dr. Gary Gallagher has said, when you take the military component of history from the study of war, you have nothing. Luckily, Cooling's lapses into social history don't last long and he quickly returns to the reality of war.
For me the book is not an easy read. At times he seems to lose focus on the topic. For example, during his chapter on the aftermath of the Confederate surrender at Fort Donelson he gets away from the specifics of the Confederate experience in prison to a general discussion of Civil War prison experience.
There are lots of good illustrations of events and photos of the chief participants, but the maps are small and are just okay.
Brilliant!.......2005-01-13
The Twin Rivers Campaign, as the Union campaign against Fort Henry, Fort Heiman, and Fort Donelson is also known, possibly was the most important weeks of the Civil War. In the West, as well as East, the Confederates held that vital upperhand in warfare--the momentum. But, after the Twin River forts were captured by a Federal army-navy force and Nashville fell, the momentum lay with the Union. The fall of these forts signaled the beginning of the Confederate collapse in the West, which ultimately decided the war.
Benjamin Franklin Cooling, author of several Civil War studies, conveys the actions of both Federal and Confederate authorities before and during the campaign, as well as give the frontline soldiers their say in the matter. The campaign is described in good detail, and with great writing. With this campaign being so little written about, it is a great joy to read Mr. Cooling's book. Since he wrote this study, one other volume on this campaign has been published (which I haven't read yet. Hopefully, the Twin Rivers Campaign will gain the attention it deserves, as it is a very interesting topic to study and learn about.
The maps in this book, while not the best, are well above average. They cover the fighting at the fort in very good detail, and are plentiful enough considering that, compared to other battles, relatively little fighting actually took place at Fort Donelson. The illustrations are helpful as well. I would say get this book, enjoy it, and then go visit Fort Donelson National Battlefield. It is a very nice battlefield.
Book Description
This groundbreaking book represents the most systematic examination to date of the often-invoked but rarely examined declaration that "history matters." Most contemporary social scientists unconsciously take a "snapshot" view of the social world. Yet the meaning of social events or processes is frequently distorted when they are ripped from their temporal context. Paul Pierson argues that placing politics in time--constructing "moving pictures" rather than snapshots--can vastly enrich our understanding of complex social dynamics, and greatly improve the theories and methods that we use to explain them.
Politics in Time opens a new window on the temporal aspects of the social world. It explores a range of important features and implications of evolving social processes: the variety of processes that unfold over significant periods of time, the circumstances under which such different processes are likely to occur, and above all, the significance of these temporal dimensions of social life for our understanding of important political and social outcomes. Ranging widely across the social sciences, Pierson's analysis reveals the high price social science pays when it becomes ahistorical. And it provides a wealth of ideas for restoring our sense of historical process. By placing politics back in time, Pierson's book is destined to have a resounding and enduring impact on the work of scholars and students in fields from political science, history, and sociology to economics and policy analysis.
