Not worth the money. The reproductions are good, but most of them are small and many of Leonardo's most famous drawings are not included. Also, I couldn't care less about the views of art critics. I just want to see the drawings.

It has many famous
drawings and paintings by DaVinci. For instance, the spectacular
"Adoration of the Magi" appears in full color. There are
numerous apprenticeship drawings and renditions on the anatomy
of humans and animals. For instance, there is a very detailed
rendition of a horse leg. This work would make a wonderful
gift for a teenager or art buff. The full-color drawings alone are worth several dollars
apiece. The book is a tremendous value .

The Definitive Tome on da Vinci as genius.......2003-05-03

LEONARDO DA VINCI: MASTER DRAFTSMAN is a magnificent addition to the library about this extraordinary Renaissance genius. Published as a 'catalogue' for the exhibition that just left the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the weighty book is successful on all levels. The Curator and driving force fo the exhibition, Carmen C. Bambach, has firmly established her credentials in this vast survey of da Vinci's drawings of human anatomy, both precise observations (eg 'Abdomen and Left Leg of a Nude Man Standing in Profile page 556) and artistic distortions ( the grotesque faces on pages 684 - 693), of his 'inventions' as a scientist, of simple observations ('A Copse of Trees'on page 469 for instance), of the technical aspects of drawing and painting (brilliantly executed examples of draping the figure as on pages 289 and 563), and sketches for numerous painting proposals. The first 225 pages of this elegant book are devoted to various essays about da Vinci, all written by erudite scholars who are immensely readable. The last half of the book is an in-depth presentation of the catalogue of the show, serenely annotated by Carmen Bambach. There are ample sections of documentation and easy references to the bibiliography and timeline for da Vinci's life. The drawings and paintings are beautifuly reproduced on first quality paper and the book, (though heavy as a lap book!), is artistically designed and produced. This magnificent volume will be the gold standard for da Vinci's drawings and should be part of every library on the Renaissance and on art history. Highly Recommended.

A MUST HAVE if you are a Will & Grace fan!!.......2007-08-31

I bought this book not expecting much. Maybe a few pictures and a few words from the actors. I had the Friends magazine and it didn't do anything for me. I felt it was just something they put out there to make money and so didn't put a lot of content into it. But being a Will & Grace fan, I figured I must buy it just to complete my collection. Boy, was I wrong!! This provides you with a colorful history of the whole series. It contains a LOT of information. I am sooo glad I bought this! It is worth the price. If you are even a remotely a will & grace fan, you need to get this. You will thoroughly enjoy this!

In the first episode, when Jack entered with two huge Louis Vuitton bag I knew this will be my favourite TV Show! And I was right. I have all the seasons and now I bought the book: Will & Grace Fabulously Uncensored.
I ordered this book with a little fear coz I really didn't know what to expect. But when it arrived I was so excited and enthralled!
The book is awesome! You can read about the the actors, you can know better the caracters and you can read about the episodes of 6 seasons. Yes, only 6, but who cares if you have 192 colourfull pages with many cool things on! In the end you can take a Quize about the show and you have a Glossary where you can finde all the meening of the words you think you know but you have no idea! :)

I thik this book is something you must have if you are a Will & Grace fan!

WILL AND GRACE AKA JACK AND KAREN.......2006-05-16

Wow, this is a thorough book on this unique sit com. This book plows some new ground and you can tell that the author is a true fan of the show. As the show comes to an end, this great book is an excellent resourse guide and it reminds you of why you loved the show in the first place. Personnally, I always loved when Will and Grace would get serious with each other and have a frank discussion about the dynamic of their friendship, it was raw and the harsh truth was crystal clear and for all to see. As for Karen and Jack, well they stole every scene they where in, I was also always a big fan of Rasario and Karen's friend/enemy, Beverly, it was always fun to watch him deny his obvious homosexuality. The show was groundbreaking in many ways, but I do wish that Will had been given more boyfriends and more of a love life, I mean who ever believed that this handsome, lean, lawyer, would have trouble finding dates, I mean, get real. The show also caught flack, and rightfully so, for all of the guest stars, it really got old and retarded the growth of the main characters, but a few like really hit is out of park, like the hilarious Michael Douglas, Macaulay Culkin, I love when his characture Soup, throws some money at Karen and tell her to get a wax, he likes a clean slate, lol, and the one and only Cher. Good-bye guy, I'll miss you, see ya in reruns.

As an avid Will & Grace fan, I highly recommend this hilarious book. It includes a brief summery for, quotes and great pictures from each episode (season 1-6), and: a behind the scenes look at the cast and crew; some wonderful explanations about the storylines; a very funny and informative look at the set design; an in-depth review of the characters, their relationships and friends, family and even wardrobe. My personal favourite part of this great book is the "Favourite Episode Of..." feature; writers, creators and cast pick some of their favourite moments. So we discover that Debra Messing loved the second season episode "Das Boob", and that Eric McCormack enjoyed working with real-life idol Barry Manilow in "Fanilow" (season 6).
Also you can read very honest tidbits from the people behind the show; they admit to their mistakes and least favourite moments on the show, and there's even the occasional serious discussion of the important meaning behind some of the material presented on Will & Grace.
I know most Will & Grace episodes by heart; I own the show on DVD. And this book really revealed things to me I did not know about this show. I got it as a gift from my best friends and it's honestly one of the best gifts I could have gotten. Even if you're not a heavy Will & Grace-er, this book will land you right into their zany and truly unique world- it's worth its cost, and it's a GREAT and incredibly fun read. Get it!

Interesting idea and selections, but the book is agressively poorly written. His entries provide no new perspectives on the selected works. He alternates self-praise for his "Idiosyncratic" selections with rage at anyone who would critize one of the works. Liner note writers, academics, SF critics and strawmen take hits while Williams delays engaging the works themselves.

I loved the concept of this book. I only wish I had read an excerpt before buying it. The choices are fine, even daring. However, instead of insight, the reader gets poorly written stream-of-consciousness ramblings that add up to nothing but the author's feeble attempt to justify his choices...some of which he hasn't even experienced himself. If you like trivia or history, do not buy this book. If you like an author who thinks he is hip, smart, and funny but is none of these things, go for it.

Renewed interst in the B-36 has made this fine volume even more useful and relevant - and the release of 1/144th scale Peacemaker kits add a further incentive for modelers (as well as aviation history buffs) to revisit this remarkable little 100-page book.

The B-36 served operationally for just 10 years, from 1948 to 1958 - it was slow for it's time, cruising at just 250 mph, but the Peacemaker flew so high that it was largely invulnerable for most of it's career. With an unrefueled combat range of 10,000 miles, missions of 40 hours were not uncommon - though they must have been butt-busters of monumental proportions. This book - from Specialty Press's excellent Warbird Tech series - does an excellent job of capturing the sheer enormity of this remarkable huge aircraft, known with irony and a bit of affection as "Magnesium Overcast." The war-winning atomic bomber, the B-29 Superfortress, looked like a Piper Cub when parked in the B-36's shadow (which Convair and the Air Force did a lot, for PR purposes).

It also captures the details, with sketches of the turrets and engine installations, close-up photos of cockpits and bomb bays and low-slug auxiliary jet engines. It should come as no surprise that the B-36 was frequently modified to fulfill special missions - perhaps most amazingly as an aircraft carrying an operational nuclear reactor (which did not power the plane, but only tested airborne radiation shielding). At least one B-36 was modified as an all-jet YB-60, intended as a competitor to the Boeing B-52 but - at a top speed roughly 100 mph less than the B-52 - too little, too late.

The book has a relative few color photos - most B-36s weren't all that colorful - but the author found a color shot of a gaudy B-36 used to drop test atom bombs over Nevada and the Pacific - this one looks like a cross between a circus wagon and an 8th Air Force "formation ship." Modelers who see this photo will absolutely want to figure out a way to build it. However, what it lacks in color it makes up for with line drawings - many from documents created by Convair and the Air Force for Peacemaker crews and ground crews - that really make this aircraft come to life.

Whether you like military technology and aviation history or whether you're a modeler looking for reference material and interesting ideas, the Warbird Tech Convair B-36 "Peacemaker" is a book you'll want to add to your personal library.

A Brief History.......2003-07-05

Considering this book is only 104 pages long it contains an incredible amount of data. This is an update from the original version of this book that I saw many years ago - it has a few more pages and is printed on much better (glossy) paper. It also has many new photographs. If you only want to spend $20 on a B-36 book, this is the one to get. If you want to spend double that amount, buy Magnesium Overcast by the same author - almost 300 pages of every detail you would ever want to see on the B-36, C-99, and B-60.

A simple but a great history.......2001-02-09

This book allow a history of one of the most controvertial bomber, the B-36. The book explain the evolution of this "monster" whit a singular name "Peacemaker", irony?. The B-36 servered to the future evolution of the bombers, and servered to the platform for a lot of experiments about new technologies.

100 pages of the most revealing look at this aircraft yet........1999-08-12

Mr. Jenkins has captured the history of the Peacemaker and its many variants in an easy to read 100 pages of text and rarely seen photographs.

The descriptions of the many systems of the B-36 are easy to understand and are supported with photos and drawings. The details provided of the many experimental versions of the aircraft give a rare glimpse of the state of development of military aviation during the 1940's and 1950's.

Because of the extreme secrecy that surrounded this aircraft during its service with SAC, very little was known about it publicly. Mr. Jenkins has done a superb job of bringing back to life an almost forgotten aircraft - an aircraft that is responsible for all of us being alive today. I hope that he will someday consider writing an even broader book about the Peacemaker and its' many contributions to present day aviation and to the preservation of world peace through strength.

This book is a "must read" for every student of aviation history.

He is an expert on American foreign policy and U.S. relations with the Middle East and Europe. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin and his Ph.D. at Harvard and has held fellowships from the Guggenheim, Rockefeller and Ford Foundations, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Lieber has taught at Harvard, Oxford and the University of California, Davis, and has been Visiting Fellow at St. Antony's College Oxford, the Harvard Center for International Affairs, the Atlantic Institute in Paris, the Brooking Institution in Washington, and Fudan University in Shanghai.

tucked under your arm for awhile. Since 2001, this reader has been
racing through Colin S Gray, Robert Haass, Keith Payne, Robert Kagan,

cannot be praised enough. Superior.
