I could have spent many more hours perusing the pages of this book as the pictures hold so much detail and meaning. The artist stays true to the scriptures while giving us a feel for the culture, geography and atmosphere of the life and ministry of Jesus that Americans might otherwise have a hard time picturing. He seems to particularily like drawing animals too, which adds a neat element to the drawings. Ultimately, this book drew me into the worshipping the Lord more, which, in the end, is the best purpose a book could ever have!

There are not enough superlatives to describe this book. The photos leap from the page and are simply splendid. The author is knowledgabe and writes in a clear, understandable manner. Covered well are famous designers plus those designers who are relatively unheard of in America but who produce a quality portfolio of work.
This is one of my prized books and would be the last I would ever part with. If there was a 10 star rating, this book would have earned it!

Story was decent, hardcover was nice, and all for a great price. There is no reason to give it a 1 for it being a comic. I reccomend this to any SG fan.

I just received my copy of POW. No where in the description does it mention this an illustrated / graphic novel or comic book. I thought I was getting a written novel. Not what I expected.

Get this great book while its available!.......2005-09-20
What your getting in this book: more abilities, skills, and advancement package picks to round out your Starfleet characters. Also more gear and more starships(10) as well info on playing intelligence operatives such as in Section 31 campaigns and eight new starfleet races like the Bolians and Tellarites. What this book misses is more info on actual starfleet ops spending only 2/12 pages on fleet ops and fleet command with no mention of the Academy, Starfleet HQ, and Starfleet medals and decorations to fill the new space on the new Starfleet personnel jacket. Also where is the Constellation class ship such as the U.S.S. Stargazer the mainstay of Starfleet during the Lost era? Slim but definitely worth it.......2004-01-21
Let me point out that I am a collector, not a player. I found this a really good read, and I think players would enjoy it even more, even at less than a hundred pages. On the technical side, there is a chapter that demonstrates specific skill use for Starfleet officers and introduces new skills, including combat skills like fencing, martial arts and Original Series brawling. There is another chapter on new abilities for Starfleet officers, which at least doubles the numbers, and includes much better packages for developing advanced characters, including traits. There are chapters on equipment and starships. These really capture the feel of Starfleet officers, especially the Original Series, at least in skills. There are also eight more species: Bolians, Centaurans, Deltans, Grazerites, Regulans, Tellarites, Tiburons and Zaldans. On the information side, there is a chapter on standard mission types and starship operations, a chapter on fleet organisation and history, and the starship section contains a lot of information on individual ships. There is also a section on starbases, their positions, characteristics and use. This all made fascinating reading. There is an amazing amount of information on Starfleet, through history, operationally and for interesting places crammed into this thin book. Also, there were very few technical flaws this time. In contrast to the Player's Guide, the chapter layout made a lot of sense. The only important (or at least obvious) flaw is that the table for the settings of the `isomagnetic disintegrator' is missing.

Bought this book look for a few financial tidbits we might be missing and there was probably enough to make it worthwhile. A lot of basics and tried and true methods are repeated in this book and just reemphasize that we are doing things 'right.' I like repeating these to my kids as we travel. If we are willing to do a little more work, could save a bit more money with some of her suggestions. I also have to chuckle at the repeated sales pitches in the book for newsletters and templates to help you save money...Overall, a good quick read that can save you some dough.

Although this book is about Hillary's character, I wouldn't call it an attack on her character. Filled with quotes from people who knew or met her and entertaining anecdotes, this book is a fun read.
I read this book after watching Al Franken and his two cronies conduct an ambush interview with Edward Klein. Franken's entire critique was based on two misspelled names as well as an opinion on the authors picture in the back of the book. Seeing how much Franken and company hated this book was enough to tell me that it was all true.
But this is not the sickening type of description of Hillary found in books like, 'Unlimited Acces' (Aldrich) and 'Dereliction of Duty' (Patterson). It's more of a biography. Parts of the book actually show Hillary in fairly good light.

When the impostor psychologist Dr Greta Penterschloss counsels Gomez and Morticia in the first Addams Family movie, she ensnares them by using the word "displacement." Mr & Mrs Addams eagerly enquire as to whether the condition is unpleasant. "Deeply," the good doctor replies, to their delight. So it is with this book - it is deeply unpleasant, but at the same time as absorbing as Harry Potter.
The unpleasantness is already evident on page one in the Prologue where Monica Lewinsky reminisces about an encounter at Radio City Music Hall in August 1996. From there it's downhill all the way.
Part One: The Big Girl, deals mainly with the revelation of the Lewinsky scandal whilst listing the others, like the cattle-futures windfall, Gennifer Flowers, the health-care debacle, travel office purge, purloined FBI files, the renting of the Lincoln Bedroom and the missing Rose Law Firm files.
Part Two: The Book Of Life, looks at Hillary's childhood, her school years, her first loves, her time at Wellesley College, her internship for a liberal Republican in Washington, Yale Law School, the meeting with Bill and the romance (if it can be called thus), her role in the impeachment of President Nixon, her move to Arkansas, the wedding in 1975 and the politics up to 1982.
Part Three: The White House Years, deals extensively with the running of the White House, the Bimbo problem and how Hillary handled it, her coven of close aides and supporters, the health care fiasco, the Ken Starr investigation and how she successfully played "the wronged woman."
Part Four: The Candidate, explores her successful senate run and Part V: The Road Back To The White House, her role as senator, their marriage of inconvenience since leaving the White House, the 2004 Democratic Convention, and her first moves towards the Presidency in 2008.
Chapter 34: Nixon's Disciple and the Epilogue recount the Nixon visit to the White House in 1993. Afterwards, the old president observed that she inspires fear. This section also speculates on what the "new, new Hillary" might look like: sincere, genuine, forbearing, open-minded, sunny and smiling. The make-over is in progress.
This riveting book concludes with acknowledgments, a bibliography, a note on sources, 31 pages of notes and an index. There are 30 black and white photographs, including the notorious one where She embraces Suha Arafat.
Sheologists now have a tasty variety of titles to choose from, including Barbra Olson's Hell to Pay, Christopher Andersen's American Evita, Bay Buchanan's The Extreme Makeover of Hillary (Rodham) Clinton, R. Emmett Tyrell's Madame Hillary: The Dark Road to the White House and two rather boring recent biographies: Her Way by Jeff Gerth & Don Van Natta Jr. and A Woman in Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton by Carl Bernstein. But for sheer unpleasantness, it's hard to beat this one by Edward Klein.
DEFINITELY NOT THE WHOLE TRUTH.......2007-08-07
Though presented asa book that is revealing, this book turns out to be a book that reveals nothing; and in fact it appears suspiciously to be a book designed to help Hillary by making it appear that while she is often criticized there is really nothing serious to criticize her for. There are quite a few books of this genre circulatung these days, and they definitely do not apppear to tell the whole truth about Hillary. This book does not do so. But why are there so many of these books? And where might there be a book that really does tell the whole story? Well, there are a lot of these books because people seem to sense that there really is much about Hillary that they need to know and want to know, so there is a market for these books that are "pitched" as "tell all" books; but to find a book (and yes, there is one) that really does "tell all" a reader needs to get and read, and then study, a book presented as a book "of fiction", which turns out to be in fact the book that tells the whole unvarnished true story to the reader who will get and read it; and that book is entitled "The Empress Project". As for this book by Klein, it is not really worth taking time to read. It is not going to reveal anything to the reader.The Empress Project

This is another right wing piece of trash written by trash for trash. There will always be a market for this sadly. Let's keep the war going in Iraq, kill off more of our American soldiers, and continue to move backwards.
Ed Klein will eat this book when Hillary Rodham Clinton is elected the 44th President of the United States as no candidate on either side is more qualified than She.
I want to restore the respect for America around the world, therefor, I will be voting for Hillary !

This book is an engaging first person account of the exploits of a rather daring Confederate foot soldier. The book is lifted from a series of newspaper articles John Blue wrote over 30 years after the War for Southern Independence ended. Blue does not get into the political and social issues of the day, but recounts in a straigtforward and interesting style the struggles of a soldier, including his experience as a prisoner of war and escapee. This book is particularly interesting to those familiar with the geography of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and the corridor through Brocks Gap into West Virginia where Blue grew up in site of what is still known as Hanging Rock.

Good Detail of Topics Relating to International Politics.......2006-03-01
I had to purchase this book as a second book for a class I had taken. This book helped cover many of the topics I had to study and this book did a better job of describing several topics relating to nationalism, imperialism history of international politics, foreign policies, international law and organization and human factors in international politics. I would recommend this book to anyone who is trying to learn the basics or even get more indepth details on certain topics of international politics.

An interesting book indeed, written by an excellent writer who took me in a journey through history beginning with the Peloponnesian war and passing through world war one and two and the cold war after that, and ending with the new world order.
The book starts with the two views of the anarchic politics ( Realism & Liberalism ) and a very wise explanation for both of them, and I liked the way the writer analyzed the two world wars and their reasons and I agree with him about the inevitability part as I believe that the war wasn't inevitable but I quote him by saying "Ironically the belief that war is inevitable played a major role in causing it", and also the part about ethics and morality is very interesting and I liked what the French diplomat said when he was asked about what's moral and his answer was "what's moral is whatever is good for France", and also the part about counterfactuals was very exciting.
I don't agree with the writer about some points concerning the Arab-Israeli conflict but the book as a whole is a very good one.
I agree with the "back to the future" theory in some points as all I see now is "the strong do what they have the power to do and the weak accepts what they have to accept".
I'll quote him again to end my review by saying "Has global society made war socially and morally unthinkable? We have to hope so, because the next hegemonic war would probably be the last".

The basis for "Understanding International Conflicts: An Introduction to Theory and History" is, as the author explains in the preface, a course on international conflicts in the modern world he taught for a long time in Harvard. Nye says that the aim of the book is "to introduce students to the complexities of international politics by giving them a good grounding in the traditional realist theory before turning to liberal and constructivist approaches that became more prominent after the Cold War". I believe he excels at doing exactly that...
I found the book very interesting, and full of examples taken from history that made the concepts easier to grasp. Moreover, it takes into account the three levels of causation: the individual, the state and the international system. It also includes suggested reading material, that allows the reader to delve deeper in those subjects she/he finds more interesting...
The book is very well organized. It was a foreword, a preface, 9 chapters and an index. Each chapter deals with a main theme, and some related topics. The themes of the chapters are:
chapter 1:"Is there an enduring logic of conflict in world politics?";
chapter 2: "Origins of the great 20th century conflicts";
chapter 3: "Balance of power and World War I";
chapter 4: "The failure of collective security and World War II";
chapter 5: "The Cold War";
chapter 6: "Intervention, institutions and regional and ethnic conflicts";
chapter 7: "Globalization and interdependence";
chapter 8: "The information revolution, transnational actors, and the diffusion of power";
chapter 9: "A new world order?".
All in all, I strongly recommend this book to those interested in international relations... I think the author was successful in doing what he set out to do: he didn't want to give all the answers, he merely tried to help the readers to look for them. In his own words: "provide our students with conceptual tools that will help them shape their own answers as the future unfolds".

First, it is vital for prospective buyers to understand that the existing reviews are three years out of date--this is a five-star tutorial on international relations that has been most recently updated after 9-11. If I were to recommend only two books on international relations, for any adult including nominally sophisticated world travelers, this would be the first book; the second would be Shultz, Godson, & Quester's wonderful edited work, "Security Studies for the 21st Century."
I really want to stress the utility of this work to adults, including those like myself who earned a couple of graduate degrees in the last century (smile). I was surprised to find no mention of the author's stellar service as Chairman of the National Intelligence Council--not only has he had full access to everything that can be known by secret as well as non-secret means, but he has kept current, and this undergraduate and affordable paperback was a great way for me--despite the 400+ books I've read (most of them reviewed on Amazon.com) in the past four plus years--to come up to speed on the rigorous methodical scholarly understanding of both historical and current theories and practices in international relations. This book is worth anyone's time, no matter how experienced or educated.
Each chapter has a very satisfactory mix of figures, maps, chronologies, and photos--a special value is a block chart showing the causes for major wars or periods of conflict at the three levels of analysis--international system, national, and key individual personalities, and I found these quite original and helpful.
Excellent reference and orientation work. Took five hours to read, with annotation--this is not a mind-glazer, it's a mind-exerciser.

One of the few textbooks I truly enjoyed, Nye's Understanding International Conflicts was a clear, easy-to-read, and yet insightful book. Its focus is on the three levels of influence on a state's behavior: the interstate system, intrastate politics, and individual. It is one of the few entry-level IA books to discuss the effect of personality on the actions of a state. Even in my graduate-level seminars and papers, I found it to be useful.
