Kyle's Bed & Breakfast is a great place to visit. I identify with many of the characters and plots of this on-going story. The guys are realistic and fun. The sex is not overdone, and often romantic. This book gives all the background you need to get started. I can't wait for a Volume Two! And if the saga ever ends, I hope Kyle and Brad end up together!

I love this "Situation comic", the characters are interesting and their personality defines itself during the story. You'll get lovingly et accustomed to them and their friends, dreawn with a realistic style very pleasant to the eye. Not only that, but the Author manages to introduce delicate issues in a very gentle and not at all superficial manner.
Kyle's B & B.......2006-07-03
Okay, I read a lot of gay comics and know that most of them today evolve around sex, but Kyle's B & B is way different, Greg Fox's work of art here evolves around five gay men living under one roof and having a more real life to it instead of just sex. They each experience relationships, heartbreaks, life hard choices, and happiness as almost a family. I actually love this comic book, it's one of the few comics I love to read over and over again. A book that I would love to live in........2005-12-12
Sometimes you read a book and it makes you wish you could be transported there and live and hang out with the characters. A book that you don't want to end. Kyles B&B is one of those books, although, thankfully, the comic strip continues in newspapers and magazines, so it is not really over. Like some of the other reviewers here, I am not a big comics fan, but this comic strip got me hooked after reading only a few episodes in a gay magazine. The characters are warm and funny, (well most of them. Some are pretty mean, but every story needs a villain). But mostly, they are real. They are people I grew to care deeply about as their various stories progress and intertwine over the episodes. I am grateful for this book, which collects the strip from the earliest episodes. And looking forward to seeing the next collection when it comes out.

I admit I haven't read most of this interminable soap opera. I always fall asleep. It is the story of a group of young men living in and around Kyle's Bed and Breakfast on Long Island, all drawn so similarly that one can't tell them apart except for very superficial tags: one is black, one Hispanic, one effeminate, one ancient (e.g., over 25). All are extremely attractive and impossibly buffed -- where do they find the time for hours at the gym, when they are either hating their buddy's new lover or falling in love with him on every second page, and endlessly dishing the rest of the time? No humor, no wit, no nothing except the extremely attractive youg men having incredibly boring conversations.
Oh, and one of them is closeted to provide "tension" to the plotline. How do extremely handsome, extremely wealthy young men in today's New York City react to the realization that they are gay? They agonize with the internalized homophobia of a Kansas farmboy circa 1953.

This book is such fun to browse. I especially enjoyed reading the quotes from so many "famous people"! I purchased 4 of these books and am, of course, keeping one for my home and giving the other 3 as birthday gifts to special members of my family, ages 73, 65, and 60.
I was so glad that you carried it because otherwise, I probably would not have known about it and received such enjoyment from it.

The population distribution of the country is changing and the number of Senior Citizens (is that still the PC de rigueur word for retirees?) is a large enough body that books on every aspect of aging are selling well.
Randy Voorhees has gathered a large number of statements about aging that in this small but warmly humorous book give vent to some of the frustrations and the belly laughs that a wide variety of people have written about growing older. It is a jewel of a book and one to be shared with friends at retirement parties, little gifts for fellow travelers who are taking aging far too seriously, and, in all, just an entertaining collection is wisdom and quips that bring a smile to both the older and the soon to be older ones.
One of this reader's favorites is by Dennis Miller: 'If you get to thirty-five and your job still involves wearing a name tag, you've probably made a serious vocational error.' I don't think any of us love getting older, but -- if we are lucky -- age does happen. This is a quote book that puts life and the the passing of time into perspective. I bought a copy for a birthday present because I liked the title, but before I wrapped it, I read it. The next day I bought a copy for myself. It is one of those books you can go back to time and time again.

Good opening book.......2005-06-07
This is a very good book on the closed Ruy Lopez. For the positional player this is an excellent choice, as this opening demands a good strategic understanding and can lead to a lot of different pawn structures. White players are usually not so experienced with it, as it is rare on amateur level. With Flear's excellent selection of mostly current games you can try to find your way through all the different sidelines.
Flear does not take a "repertoire approach" and does not clearly indicate always, which variations he recommends. As they are all played by top players, this approach is understandable. But you need to look a little bit behind the annotated games to develop your own repertoire.
Needless to say that playing 1.e4 e5 you will have to study many other openings as well, not to mention other Ruy Lopez variations, where white avoids the main lines.

I am in real estate and I offer a copy or recommend this read to everyone who has a property to sell. I was impressed with the method. Proven results show that sellers who followed her ideas have gotten better offers. Many of the ideas are offered in the staging shows you see on HGTV. Martha's advice is practical and even has tips on how to keep the house looking great during the period of the listing even when you are very busy and have kids running around the house. Its a great resource!

This was a wonderful book! I am a realtor and believe in giving my clients the best possible chances for the most return on selling their home. I was very pleased with her method. The clients that have followed her ideas have gotten better offers, not just higher ones. I have even fallen into the trance of "I want to buy this house" when I show a home to my buyers that another realtor has listed and had their sellers stage the home for selling. If you watch any of those staging house shows on TV you will see how important it is to have the house look ready to move in. Martha's advice is practical and even has tips on how to keep the house looking great during the period of the listing even when you are very busy and have kids running around the house. I highly recommend this book!

As a home stager and realtor, I would recommend this book to anyone selling their home. Although a lot of the ideas seem obvious and common sense, many times these things are overlooked. This book also provides some useful checklists and reminders.

Readers of Black Hawk Down know Mark Bowden can tell an exciting story about as well as any writer at work today. Killing Pablo is further proof. It describes the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar, a notorious Colombian drug lord who became one of the narcotic trade's first billionaires. Pablo--Bowden refers to him by his first name throughout the book--started out as a petty thief and wound up running a massive smuggling empire. At his height in the 1980s, he owned fleets of boats and planes, plus 19 separate residences in Medellin, each with its own helipad. Violence marked everything he did: "He wasn't an entrepreneur, and he wasn't even an especially talented businessman. He was just ruthless." He bought off police, politicians, and judges throughout his country, and killed many others who wouldn't cooperate. The Colombian government tried to capture him, but without much luck; he evaded them time after time. "Now and then the police achieved enough surprise to catch him, literally, with his pants down. In [1988], about one thousand national police raided one of his mansions," writes Bowden. "Pablo fled in his underwear, avoiding the police cordon on foot." He got away, again, but his days were numbered. He was making powerful enemies in both Colombia and the United States. The final straw probably came when Pablo's men murdered a popular politician and, three months later, planted a bomb on a plane, killing 110 people, including two Americans.
The bulk of Killing Pablo describes what happened when the U.S. government put its resources behind the hunt for Pablo. Bowden describes the search in gripping detail, from the massive electronic-surveillance effort to bureaucratic infighting between rival U.S. agencies. This is an outstanding work of reportorial journalism, too: in the epilogue, Bowden drops tantalizing hints that it was an American--not a Colombian--who delivered the killing shot to Pablo in 1993. Too long.......2007-08-25
Mark Bowden wrote Black Hawk Down, as everybody knows. I was looking forward to any book by Mr. Bowden, but this one is too much. If there was ever a guy who needed to be killed it was Pablo Escobar. However, reading the endless corruption and stupidity of Columbians was depressing, and furthered my low opinions of them. There is hardly a living soul in this sorry country who is not vile or evil. Anyway, the book runs on too long and I finally just turned to the page where he was finally shot, almost by accident.
A decent true-life thriller, but that's all........2007-08-21
If you want a vivid portrait of Pablo Escobar, his personality, and his methods, this book does the job. Halfway through the volume, though, it just becomes another thriller, the story of a chase that could have taken place anywhere on earth (with of course lots of detail on surveillance gizmos, military hardware, and the colorful individuals involved--a bit like Tom Clancy). But there is virtually no backbround, nothing that helps explain why Colombia became such a huge supplier of drugs. (If it hadn't been Pablo, it would've been some other guy.) Moreover, Bowden takes for granted the notion that the cause of the drug problems is the evil men in Colombia, while never considering the fact of enormous drug demand in the U.S. Without the vast gringo appetite for drugs, there would have been no Pablo. Supply and demand is a two-way street!
On another note, Bowden's referring to the Contras in Nicaragua as "pro-democracy" forces is questionable. Those people were terrorists who killed some 50,000 people.

Black Hawk Down is one of my favorite books. From page 2 onward, there's not one dull moment. I wish the same could be said for Killing Pablo. This book really drags and at about the halfway point you're wishing that they'd cut to the chase already and kill the SOB.

Despite the apparent flaws the previous reader and reviewer points out, this is still a well researched book and these flaws do not take away from this thrilling and appalling story of Pablo Escobar. What I really liked was the description not only of Escobar but also of the country he grew up in and that let him live such a violent life and have such a horrific career. A very good read!

Killing Pablo was alot easier then finding Pablo...go behind the scenes of the drug war as Pablo is hunted down with all the latest eletronic gadgetry and eventually located..Mark Bowden writes a compelling, page turner...Pablo Escobar rises to the top of the drug cartel much like Scarface only this is a true story just as compelling..

Susie Stalin aka Medea (child killer) Benjamin is a really disturbed maniac and should be ashamed of herself. This woman is devoid of any intellectual honesty. A puppet of the Left she disgraces peace. As anyone know there is no peace without justice. Apparently Ms Benjamin would rather live enslaved in a Communist state than as a free individual.
The best I can say about this book is it's comic in its infantile brashness.

I'm about 75 pages into this book so far, and I love it. It offers up a lot of food for thought, including ideas for moving from a "dominator" model in our society to a more democratic "partnership" model, how to educate your children in peacebuilding, and so on.

This book was a great buy for me. Although it is very general as animals and plants go, it opens up the wonder of Asia to the reader. Its pictures are extremely magnificent; they are the main focus of the book. It is said a picture tells a thousand words, and it is very true for this book. The color and great shots are just as good as it gets, next to being there.
