Para cualquiera que este interesado en la vida del Che Guevara, este es un gran libro que en sus propias palabras e imagenes muestran su realidad, su ideologia y su ser. Las fotos son muy buenas, tienen esa nota de melancolia, de nostalgia, de ganas de luchar por algo. Creo que es un libro que pasa lo policitica y cae en lo personal, en la figura de el en todos sus aspectos. Un libro muy recomendable para tener en la mesa de centro de tu casa y compartirlo, habra mas de uno que se quedara enganchado a el.

But if you're a lover of the cuddly cat who's a bit round at the edges, you know you want this, and you're gonna get it! And you should because it's a colorful addition to you other books.
It's fun and I'd say aimed at older children-i.e. adults, as it contains a few recipes that use alcahol, but, you'll also find several child friendly recipes where your little darlings can help you-or vice versa. And like Garfield's fabulous dictionary, you have a sprinkling of his strips here-of course!
Most of the recipes are easy and straightforward and divided into sections e.g. Fundamentals has chicken, meat, fish and where would our great nation be without pizza! There's Pasta-Palooza, Partyfood, Thrill of the Grill, Cool Kid Food and Snack Attack all topped off nicely with Sweets and Treats-so a little something from each food group then.
Not the healthiest recipes-I have to be brutally honest, BUT if you eat right for 80% of the time, you can get away with these naughty recipes the other 20%. And while I'm here, I highly recommend McKeith's You Are What You Eat book and it's sibling cookbook. And did you know there's a Friends cookbook? Yep-go for it. And why not check out the books by Olde England's REAL royalty-Delia Smith and Nigella Lawson. And maybe Jamie Oliver if you can understand his slang...Delicious. Okay, now I'm hungry.

Our son loves to cook. He also loves Garfield. He is living away from home during his college break, and, being an ever concerned mother, when I saw this book I thought what a great book to send to our son for his summer fun, and it could be a great survival book. I picked it up out of a sense of fun and mother's happiness, and, to my delight, I found a serious cook book lay deliciously hidden beneath the cover. Ahh, "Decadent Roasted Blue Chees Potatoes," "Magnifico Mushroom Risotto," "Beat Me. Whip Me. Make Me Eat Rosemary Scalloped Potatoes," ah yes, like the great Native American Tradition, this is a book for the Heyokas out there, and the jesters. It is cooking with heart, with fun, and what fellow or gal with a great sense of humor and a great palate wouldn't just love the greatness of this hidden treasure book of fun and food.

Of course, there is ever-practical advice, such as Garfied's Fine Dining Faux Pas (Lord only knows who your child might be dating, and they can kindly leave this page open so that the "would-be date" will not embarrass your child while dining in a fine establishment). Thus, the advice, and this is just one of many, that one should not gargle with your aperitif, could simply be one of many saving graces.

I highly recommend this book. I readily admit I have kept the copy I bought for our son, and ordered many more for the rest of our children so that after a hard day, they may laugh and cook and be oh so glad to have an outrageous mother who has taught them love, laughter, and fine dining make for a happier day.

misleading title, disappointing.......2003-09-28

This is the only book I found dealing with direction, but it is not a complete guide to improving my lack of direction. The suggestions I already do (write directions etc) and the book just acknowledges I'm not the only one who has this problem but I was looking for a solution, and the author only admits more research needs to be done. I'm glad I bought this book used; it was a waste of money and ruined my expectations.

The book just gives some ideas about why people get lost. It really doesn't tell you anything that don't already know, and does not give you any useful suggestions on how to improve your sense of orientation.
There are so many great books out there, that this really doesn't justify the expense nor the time.

Anyone who would purchase a book such as this one has recognized that they have a sense of direction problem. The content of the book consists of one relative story after another and only serves to make one aware that others have the same problem. I found the book to be of no benefit whatsoever. Very repetitious and boring.

Since 1908 there have been more than 85 films from more than 13 countries based on the work of Poe - this book covers them all. It's excellent researched and good writen - the author has viewed most of them personally. There is also a included list of poe-inspired films, poe-films by country of origin, poe titles and films adapted from them and a bibliography. In one word: a reference source book. The only negative point is perhaps the only small amount of pictures.

This book is good for a quick overview of some valuation methods, but I found it to be a little too simplified, although it's not bad for mom-and-pop retail and service businesses. If you are actually don't going to do the calculations and want more professional results, take a look at "Unlocking the Value of Your Business".

This book wasn't bad, especially for the price, but there are better ones out there. ("The Upstart Guide to Buying, Valuing and Selling Your Business" for example.) About half the book is special situations or special types of companies, which is great if you happen to be one of those but not if you aren't. This book did cover the basics of business valuation, but I actually found it more useful for looking at the value of a business as a tool to improve its operations.

I was an Army Brat growing up so when I saw this book at the PX (AAFES) while visiting my parents I knew I HAD to read it. After reading Kate's story, I feel an incredible amount of appreciation for everything that our service men and women sacrifice and endure. The amount of loyalty Kate and Mike have for this country is what being a soldier is truly about.

Reading this story I felt new compassion for those who serve in the military. Most of us know someone either in the war or associated with the military. Only a few know what it is really like. One of those people happens to be Kate. Heart of a Solider is a one of a kind story that will make you think about the sacrifice others give to bring us freedom and others wanting freedom. Kate Blaise is an amazing woman and author. I met Kate a few years ago thru my college roommate. Never did I realize everything that she had been through. Reading her accounts of life and how she carried through her trials and tribulations was very uplifting. I met Kate's husband one time, but through her writings, I feel like I knew him all along. I picked up this book for myself and my husband, Mike's cousin. We had the pleasure of reading some of Kate's emails that she sent home during her time overseas. It was great to read her stories and get a unique perspective of the soldier's lives in Iraq and some of their more comical experiences. After reading her article in Golf for Women magazine, I wondered if she'd ever write a book because she can tell a story so well.

What I didn't expect was to read this book and feel transcended. Kate's memories are now my memories too. She has shared her life with anyone who wants to read about it, and her honesty will blow you away. Through her experiences I have gained insight into the character of the men and women who willingly and selflessly defend our freedoms and fight for it for others. Before reading this book, I had no real faces and no first hand experiences to equate with what it means to be a soldier except what I've seen on the news. Capt. Kate Blaise and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Mike Blaise and those who served with them are people we can all be proud of, no matter what side of the debate you're on.

This book is also a wonderful tribute to Mike's life. Ironically, the only time I met him was at a funeral several years ago. Through the pages of The Heart of A Soldier, I got to know Mike a little, and a lot about what he stood for (his faith, his family and freedom). Bless you Kate!

As Kate Blaise's collaborator on "The Heart of a Soldier," I feel Phillip's surprisingly personal attack on Kate and her book deserves a response. To say that Kate's story is not "true" because it does not conform to Phillip's preconceived notions of the female combat experience is narrow-minded at best. Yes, Kate loves her country. Yes, she loved Mike. Her book is her way of describing her marriage and her experiences. If Kate had an ax to grind regarding her military service, her book might have met Phillips' negative expectations. Perhaps Phillips should write her own book about the military rather than needlessly denigrating the work of an incredible woman whom she has never met and clearly cannot understand. Phillips is alive and able to tell her own story. Mike Blaise was not so lucky.

Received the book very quickly and promptly. It is the second to last edition and not the most current which I actually ended up needing, but that was probably my fault.

If you're looking for a factual history of immigration in United States history, this is not the text to read. If political science, sociology and theoretical arguments are your cup of tea, then this is for you. This book was obviously written for academians, but it is not unreadable to normal folks. Most of us, though, are likely not interested in the viewpoint used by the authors. Somewhat recommended, but many finer studies of immigration are available.

The second Jewish Revolt against the Roman dominion (132-135 CE) considerably changed the political and cultural landscape of Jewish Palestine. Judaea was almost completely devastated, and Jewish life shifted from Judaea to the Galilee. The Roman victory, however, was won at great cost. The last decade has seen some stunning developments in research on the Bar Kokhba War. In particular, recent archaeological findings provide new material for evaluation. This volume is based on a conference which took place in November 2001 at Princeton University and gathers a distinguished array of scholars working at the forefront of research on the Bar Kokhba period. It appraises the state of the subject in light of the present scholarly discussion and evaluates the historical importance of this major event and its repercussions for the subsequent history of the Jews in Roman Palestine. A concluding essay investigates the use of Bar Kokhba's image in modern Israeli culture.
