Book Description
Recapture Your Health presents an empowering, easy-to-follow health-improvement protocol called the 3LS Wellness Program. This combination of unique relaxation, diet, and exercise techniques can reverse chronic conditions, heal degenerative diseases, improve lifestyle conditions, and help one achieve a state of vibrant health.
The 3LS Wellness Program supports the body to heal itself, thus a majority of conditions can be addressed. Sufferers of major conditions like fibromyalgia, arthritis, and diabetes, along with individuals experiencing common "nuisance" symptoms like recurrent headaches, allergies, and fatigue, will see improvement or complete reversal of their health problems. The 3LS can be a godsend to people who have tried everything and have not gotten better, who have puzzling or unusual symptoms, whose doctor cannot provide a diagnosis, or who don't have health insurance. It is also very effective for mental/emotional symptoms, and for people who have been injured and cannot find relief from pain.
This unique program is very adaptable to the interests, age, and ability of a broad range of the population. Part I describes the three basic practices and how to apply them in daily life in the real world, thus avoiding common social and other pitfalls that usually derail most people from improving their health. Part II discusses the basic causes of illness and how the program addresses them, so that they can be applied consciously rather than by rote. Separate chapters give additional self-help practices, tips for working with practitioners, and instructions for using the 3LS for mental and emotional symptoms including depression, anxiety, alcoholism, schizophrenia, ADD, etc. A helpful resource guide includes a long list of recommended books and troubleshooting sections keep people moving forward dynamically in their healing process. An appendix for practitioners of all modalities gives tips for offering the program to patients or clients, especially those whose symptoms have not been relieved by clinical methods.
The name "3LS" is derived from the image of a wooden 3-Legged Stool such as you might find on a dairy farm. The three practices, like the three legs of a stool, are the basic support for total health. Dr. Stoll developed the program during his 38+ years as a medical doctor, and Jan DeCourtney provides additional perspective as a certified massage therapist. Both authors have followed this program to help their own health and bring the program to life by including details that make all the difference in being successful. Recapture Your Health is written in an easy-to-read and understand format. Thousands of people have improved their health using this protocol.

Recapture Your Health.......2007-07-17
Recapture Your Health outlines a balanced solution to improving overall health. The authors call this program a 3LS solution named after the three legged stool which is perfectly balanced and fully functional without a lot of extras that aren't needed.
Like the three legged stool, the 3LS program contains three simple but sturdy elements (nutrition, exercise, and relaxation) that create a foundation for improved health. The nutrition section focuses primarily on minimizing damage caused by the high intake of refined foods in the modern diet. The authors promote a whole foods approach to nutrition that reduces and potentially eliminates all refined foods. This is very similar to the slow food philosophy that is gaining popularity.
Likewise, the exercise and relaxation portions of this program are not radical but are somewhat based in good common sense. Participants are expected to exercise twenty minutes three times a week of virtually any type of activity that gets them moving. Relaxation is guided through various types of formal relaxation exercises such as meditation or guided imagery completed for approximately twenty minutes twice a day.
A Recipe For Wellness.......2007-06-06
While conventional medicine tends to focus on covering up symptoms with medications, many of which cause dangerous side-effects, this book provides step-by-step instructions on how to potentially avoid the doctor's office altogether. Based on the premise of 'how to be healthy,' this book outlines what Dr. Stoll refers to as the '3-Legged Stool of Wellness' - Skilled Relaxation, A Whole Foods Diet, and Exercise. As simple as this sounds, there are many crucial aspects that one needs to be aware of in order to implement the Wellness lifestyle effectively. 'Recapture Your Health' provides all the knowledge, insight, frequently asked questions, and troubleshooting guides needed for anyone to do just what the title says. Jan DeCourtney's writing style makes this book both fun and motivational to read cover to cover as well as easy to use as a quick-reference using the detailed index in the back. Hats off to this book, a long-awaited tribute to a very important aspect of Walt Stoll's life's work of getting the truth about Wellness out to the public!
Priceless Information For Lifelong Health and Maintenance.......2007-04-25
Walt Stoll and Jan DeCourtney have given readers a chance to redeem their health or maintain it using three simple tools. Seemingly so simple, yet the authors have used their talents to give a good explanation of some of the who's, what's, and why's of the road back to health.
Even if you think you know the information to wellness they present, "Recapture Your Health" is still a great reference to have linking many common and not so common ailments to the modern day interpretation of stress. Many of us have used one of their key elements at one time or another, but in putting all the pieces of the puzzle together you have a great weapon to use in the war against disease.
If you have not yet had to deal with a serious illness or condition, you can certainly can go a long way to prevent it, according to the book, and maintain quality your quality of life for the years to come.
Something for everyone,
A+
Alternative Healing.......2007-02-07
"Recapture Your Health" focuses on relaxation, nutrition and exercise. This is the basis for the entire program so you can maintain optimal health. Not only does this show a way to a healthier lifestyle, it promises relief from a wide variety of chronic health conditions. Whether you are already suffering from a condition or want to take a more preventive approach, this book has many pertinent answers. The authors teach a more holistic approach and also explain the roots of illness.
What is the real cause of illness?
How can you reduce depression, anger and anxiety?
Is there a natural solution for chronic fatigue?
Throughout the book, personal examples are shown as people who followed this program explain how their symptoms disappeared. Some of the main things the authors recommend is the elimination of sugars, alcohol and caffeine. In order to follow the program there is also a handy list of foods you should include or avoid. If you enjoy reading labels, there is also a section about additives.
After following this program you can expect better sleep, happier moods and less headaches. As the authors say: "...most people lose health because of an unhealthy lifestyle." This book puts you on a fast track with a special section called "quick start guides." This allows you to get started even before you have read a third of the book.
The authors present a discussion about supplements, encourage healthy lifestyle changes and give lists of exercises like Pilates, Yoga and Walking. I also though their list of helpful ways to reduce stress was very helpful.
~The Rebecca Review
Fabulous Book everyone should read.......2007-01-19
Dr Stoll really empowers you to take control of your own health through his 3 pronged approach. (what he calls the "3 legged stool") I had never been exposed before to the whole foods concept - I guess I was living under a rock all these years. I like having the rationale behind things explained, like WHY skilled relaxation is important (we heal 24X faster than when sleeping) or WHY we should exercise 20 min 3X week (so we get at least 6 minutes past our "Second Wind") I found this book to be a compelling read and gave it to all my relatives as gifts. I also ordered The New Whole Foods Encyclopedia, and Raw Food, Real World.

Extremely helpful and even entertaining.......2005-07-31
This book is extremely useful in helping you understand the different avenues of anxiety disease. Dr. Leaman is very encouraging and also has a nice sense of humor and metaphor. I found it especially interesting to learn about what happens to us physiologically during an anxiety attack. Knowing how and why these functions occur is comforting to the mind, as is knowing you are not alone in the struggle to overcome anxiety.

Book Description
Intrigued by the mystique and challenge of the Marine Corps, eighteen-year-old Wesley Fox enlisted in the summer of 1950, shortly after the outbreak of the Korean War. He saw action with the First Marine Division in Korea and was wounded in 1951. After Korea, Fox advanced steadily in the enlisted ranks, reaching the rank of first sergeant, and, early in the Vietnam War, he received an appointment as second lieutenant. While serving as a rifle company commander with the Third Marine Division in 1969, he was twice wounded in a vicious battle during Operation Dewey Canyon. Early in this battle, every member of the companyâs command staff was either wounded or killed. In an all-or-nothing effort led by First Lieutenant Fox, his company repulsed the attack of a much larger enemy force and then counterattacked with devastating results. âFor conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty,â Fox received the Medal of Honor, which President Richard Nixon presented to him at the White House. Despite the personal sacrifice and frequent danger, Fox resolutely embraced the ethos of the Marine Corps, risking his life on numerous occasions and emerging as a leader in one of the most respected and feared fighting organizations in the world. Readers interested in U.S. military history from the second half of the twentieth century, in the Marine Corps, and in inspiring tales of personal achievement will find plenty of each in Foxâs extraordinary memoir.

Marine Rifleman- 43 Years in the Corps.......2007-06-10
A well written and represented book! This book gives the reader a totally " Gungy " feeling! Real to life excerts from day to day life with " Mother Green & her Machine" Col. Fox is a Marines Marine, his method of leadership and Esprit de Corps was like no other, I know , I served under his command and unknowingly absorbed many of his talents, wisdom and leadership trait's through following his training and command. Well worth it!!!!!!!!!!! Col. Fox is a Marine to model ones self after, a Great American!!!! ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK. Semper Fidelis
Marine Rifleman: Forty-three years in the Corps.......2007-05-12
Recommended reading for all Marines and Wannabees which includes just about everybody.
A must-read on leadership.......2006-07-13
Col. Fox's memoir is as educational as it is entertaining. This is a must-read book on leadership, which drives home two essential principles: the leader must set the example and the leader must look out for the welfare of subordinates (which includes correcting them or even steering them into better paths, if they don't fit the Marine mold). And he does it in an entertaining style. It's rare to find someone with his experience who is also such a fine writer.
Though he holds the Medal of Honor, Col. Fox isn't at all full of himself. He's not afraid to say when he made mistakes, or when the system made mistakes. I found myself both wishing I'd served under Fox, and grateful I didn't, because I'm not sure I could have measured up to his very high standards. We should all be eternally thankful for Americans of this caliber.
Give this book to the young man or woman thinking of joining the Corps.

Pass this book on to others!.......2005-04-13
I gave "Marine Rifleman" to my 17-year-old son last week, not to have him again revisit my Marine Corps "era" through this terrific book, but to have him exposed to these thoughts:
-- "Normal" people can have a successful military career. And Marines are not cold-blooded killers to begin with, nor trained as such.
-- Military careers can co-exist with a family lifestyle. The Fox family is a wonderful example.
-- We owe a considerable debt of gratitude to those who have served, especially in combat situations. Our comfortable life is largely due to the sacrifices of thousands of military personnel since 1900. Many of these sacrifices are short of serious wounds or death, but are not experienced by or even known to the public-at-large.
-- You can lead AND command without losing respect for your subordinates (very important today!!!), or having them lose respect for you.
Does "Marine Rifleman" bring out these lessons? You bet it does. Get the book, read it, pass it on to others. The reader does not have to be Marine-familiar. It will be one of their better reads from the bewildering choices in the bookstores. Especially for young people. Let them experience the personal growth of this man Fox as he maintains his spirit and integrity through a demanding career.
One Marine's Amazing Journey Through the Ranks.......2004-09-18
Every Marine that has served can easily tell you about the types of people in the Corps. There are the people who do their job and are just waiting to get out, the less than desirable bottom "10%" and then guys like Wesly Fox: the super-hardcore, gungy types who eat and sleep Marine Corps and epitomize the professionalism and dedication of the modern warrior. Col. Fox spent 43 year in, making it to 1st Sergeant before being commissioned and ultimately obtaining his bird. Many field grade officers today remember him as the CO of OCS, and his reputation carries his name throughout the Corps, even today, a decade since his retirement. Gungy Marines only come along maybe once a year in a unit, and Marines like Foxonly come along once in a great while.
The book is written by the author, and goes from chapter to chapter through each rank and his experiences in Korea, Vietnam, and all of his assignments (e.g. drill instructor, recruiter, MSG, etc.); He did it all. The prose is not extremely well written or memorable so much as the content of his story is remarkable. He seems to be a very warm and realistic man. There are almost no political views in the book, or rants about government or red tape, just his perspectives on the COrps and how it changed over 3 years. A great read, I feel it should be added to the Commandant's reading list.

Great Bio.......2007-07-22
This is a complete biography of Pastor Rogers. It covers every thing that one would want to know about him. I based my Masters church history thesis on this work and aced it. It is interesting and divotional. I would recommend it to Baptists and other denominations of Christian alike.
Great for young preachers. .......2007-01-19
The last section of this book features answers to questions that were posed to Dr. Rogers regarding preaching, pastoring and the ministry. You will find an eye opening look at how he prepared his sermons and his overall philosophy of ministry. A great tool for young preachers, or old preachers who want to go deeper.
What Is Included is Good, but Needs More Details and Anecdotes to Be a Really Good Biographical Look at the Man's Life!.......2006-08-04
LOVE WORTH FINDING: THE LIFE OF ADRIAN ROGERS & HIS PHILOSOPHY OF PREACHING by Joyce Rogers (his wife) is a pretty interesting book, but it is a little light on details. What is there is interesting, but it seems like many more details and anecdotes need to be added to be a comparable biography to other good bio books I have read.
Adrian and his wife have been a pair since the 4th grade! Adrian was a rowdy kid, tamed by the disciplines of discipleship to Christ. He played high school football, but was called to preach. He attended liberal Christian schooling and gritted his teeth to finish, since so many professors taught a doubting view of the Bible, and such. Adrian and Joyce got married, had three kids, and went from small pastoring jobs to bigger ones, until he finally got invited to Bellevue Baptist Church where he stayed and grew for 32 years. All the while, Adrian toyed with radio preaching. He made a name for himself, and Bellevue grew by leaps and bounds. He was named president of the Southern Baptist Convention three times.
The most in-depth chapter covers the Southern Baptist Convention. This is the longest chapter, and the most like other good biography books that I have read, filled with lots of details and behind the scenes information.
The rest of the chapters about the life of Adrian Rogers have some good information, but it seems like many more little scenes from his life, and others in his life, should have been included. Most chapters are pretty short. For instance, when talking about their children, there aren't enough details or funny stories about growing up. They seem to be born, have a couple of anecdotes mentioned, then they are next heard from already grown-up and with kids of their own.
The weakest chapter is a long one, containing short comments about Adrian from people who have known him. This reads like a chapter full of book cover blurbs! Lots of praise for Adrian, but little new insights. These would have fit in much better if they had all been sprinkled into the biography chapters, instead of all collected in a single chapter, perhaps.
The best chapters are a Q&A section asking Adrian questions about being a preacher. He has some interesting responses.
There is a 16 page b/w section of lots of photos.
I like listening to the late Adrian Rogers on the radio. He passed away and has been in Heaven since 2005, but his LOVE WORTH FINDING radio show continues on with replays of his many great sermons! This is similar to James Vernon McGee's radio shows, still going strong some two decades after his death!
This book is better than the more recent ADRIANISMS, which is a haphazardous collection of little sayings culled from his radio sermons and such, but they are not even sure which ones were original to Adrian, and which were borrowed or public domain sayings.
LOVE WORTH FINDING: THE LIFE OF ADRIAN ROGERS & HIS PHILOSOPHY OF PREACHING is a good way to learn a quick overview of the life story of Adrian Rogers, but I hope they go back and beef up most of the chapters, considerably, before they go into a second printing, in the future.
If you like listening to Adrian's LOVE WORTH FINDING radio shows, then you will find it interesting to learn about his life's story, in this book. You will learn the main landmarks of his life's journey, but not too many more details.
What a Godly Man!.......2006-03-22
Love Worth Finding is a tremendous ministry created by Adrian Rogers. He was my pastor (via television and radio) when I or one of my children were too sick to go to church. He was a Godly man on the same scale as Rev. Billy Graham. Morally impeccable and humble, what every man of God should be!
The book was a very interesting read because I'm fascinated with his ministry and his testimony. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good biography.
Love Work Finding: The Life of Adrian Rogers.......2006-03-12
This is an excellent book from the desk of Joyce Rogers, the wife of Adrian Rogers dealing with the integraty of her husband and pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis Tn.. A must read for any christian man, husband, and church leader.
Book Description
The name of the legendary Freiherr Manfred von Richthofen – the ‘Red Baron’ – still lives on. At a time when aviation was in its infancy and the ancient tradition of martial chivalry was in its final decline, when warfare on land had become a human hell and only the skies remained for nobility in combat, he was a symbol of honor and deadly skill.
Even in death Richthofen has created a myth not least in the way he met his final end. Many stories have been written concerning this event with a number of people claiming the credit for shooting him down. Extensive research has amassed convincing evidence that should provide the final word.
This is the superbly, indelibly thrilling story of the ‘Knight of the Air’ – the man he was, the life he led, the kills he made, the strange controversial fate he met, and the legend he has left for all time.

Reconstructs History Like A Crime Scene.......2005-08-21
As carefully as a detective studying a contemporary killing, Mr. Titler pores over first-hand accounts, interviews surviving eyewitnesses, studies archived documents and revisits the scene of the death of Germany's infamous Red Baron. Long before anyone dared suggest such a notion in front of a wide audience, Titler challenged the accepted account that the Baron was downed by Canadian flyer Roy Brown, and proves beyond a reasonable doubt, that a single bullet, a mere "lucky shot" from an Australian ground gunner, fatally injured the Red Baron in April 1918, and brought down his tri-plane.
An interesting read for any WWI buff, and an engrossing one for anyone seeking to ferret out truth from fiction in the vastness of historical reporting.

The Red Knight of Germany: The Story of Baron von Richthofen.......2002-09-07
The Red Knight of Germany: The Story of Baron von Richthofen Floyd Gibbons, 1927.
To begin, I can honestly classify this title as simply an excellent read. Gibbons succeeds in giving a full recollection of the occurances during the life of Richthofen, and the respect the author had for Richthofen is apparent throughout the book. It is written with the same views that I believe the pilots of the time would have had pertaining to aerial warfare, or flight alone. The romantic aspects of flight, which were held in higer regard in the times of elegant, open cockpits and gallant pilots than it is today, the book unfolds in a more-than-satisfying manner the events leading up to, and including, Richthofen's time as an aerial fighter. The book includes excerpts from Richthofen's own accounts of the war, through letters to his mother, the official requests for acknowledgement for many of the victories he attained, and quotes. Certainly the book is worthy of much more praise than I am able to give in a short review such as this. For anyone even remotely interested in the early days of Aerial warfare, and of course of special interest to those interested in the history of Germany's Ace of Aces.
First isn't the best........2000-04-17
This was the first biography written about Germany's great WWI air ace,Manfred von Richthofen, better known as "The Red Baron".This book was originaly written in the 1920's and is rather dated.Several superior bios of Richthofen have been written since Gibbons wrote this one.The books main week point is the authors attempt to portray Richthofen as a cold blooded killer, which subsequent biographies have shown to be totaly false. One of the books strong points is Gibbons' interviews with some of the British flyers who were lucky enough to survive being shot down by Richthofen.Their stories are quite interesting. This book makes an entertaining read, but anyone interested in a more factual account of Richthofen's life should buy one of the more recent biographies.

Book Description
This collection of seminal readings in international political economy charts the historical and theoretical evolution of the field from the eighteenth century to the present day. Bringing together classic works and leading contemporary arguments, this book outlines the development of three schools of IPE thought -- Liberalism, Marxism, and Realism -- and also includes recent syntheses of these approaches to show how conventional theoretical categories are giving way to more eclectic conceptual schemes. The second edition features an added section on the postmodern turn in the study of international political economy, and includes a number of new readings. The readings include works by Alexander Hamilton, Friedrich List, David Ricardo, Adam Smith, Lenin, Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Richard Cooper, Robert O. Keohane, Joseph S. Nye, Christopher Chase-Dunn, Robert Cox, Robert Gilpin, Mancur Olson, Richard Zeckhauser, Bruno S. Frey, Immanuel Wallerstein, Susan Strange, Donald J. Puchala, Raymond F. Hopkins, Alice A. Amsden, Peter M. Haas, David Harvey, and Michael J. Shapiro. I recommend this book to all persons interested in lions in the America's. It will appeal to and educate people with diverse opinions on the management of this wonderful species of cat. Mr. Shaw is not only a good biologist, he also tells it like it is, and in a well written way. I especially hope that North America's wildlife decision makers will read and heed Mr. Shaw's conclusions about lion management. This book is for the biologist, the rancher, the lion hunter, and the preservationist.
