This book provided the information I needed and was more thorough than the new Lonely Planet equivalent, Trekking the Andes. I bought both and I'll take the Bradt guide to the Andes.

We love the Bradt guides, because they're "personal", innovative, well-written and in-depth. If you like to explore the non-obvious, to get off the beaten track (without necessarily missing out on the highlights), this is the guide you're looking for!!

in dire need of some decent editing.......2004-11-30

Although writing the perfect trekking guide is an almost impossible excerise, there is certainly room for improvement in Bradt's latest offering. Whilst generic lonely planet guide blueprint is limited, the layout employed here is quite confusing and random, with maps, route descriptions, silly anecdotes, natural history, local culture and general travel advice thrown in together in a very messy fashion which limits the usefulness of the book as a reference material. The content itself is extremely bloated with superfluous info and suffers from inconsistent writing - at times it feels more like a disparate collection of internet postings than a trekking guide. Whilst is great to see the alternate and no less spectacular routes getting a mention, some serious thought needs to be given to the editing process - it is a difficult task to write a concise and informative guide, but this is what is necessary to stand out from the dross.

This story was alot of fun. Alfred Kropp is a great character and a constant laugh. Our whole family loved the book- good thriller, lots of action and a fun plot. We have shared the book with many others and we all agree- Alfred Kropp rocks!

Blast of the Past and Present.......2007-04-26

The Extrodinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp by Rick Yancey is one of the best modern fiction books that has been written in the last year. It mixes a bit of the past with the modern technology. From swords and arrows to Ferraris and helicoptors!
It starts when Alfred Kropp, a kind of dumb kid, gets tangled in a sceam of a mysterious man. He and his uncle are asked to steal a sword from a rich man. It will unravel into a huge mess that Alfred will have to clean up. He will have to travel the world to try and get that one sword back because that sword has the power to save or destroy the world. It can't land in the wrong hands, or horrible things will happen. So read this book, I see what will happen to Alfred Kropp.
This book will take a Fantasy lover's imagination to the extreme. I love this book, I recommend it to everyone. I was so hooked that I finished it in about six hours. You will love this book. It won't disappoint you.

Extrordanary Indeed.......2007-03-01

If you enjoy fast paced,thrilling, action packed bookes, this is the book for you. Its about a boy named Alfred Kropp whos life keeps getting worse by the minute. His life does not get much better when he and his uncle steal Excalibur, a legendary sword. Now he must keep this sword out of the hands of an evil man.
This book is great when it comes to action! Jets, ships, guns, swords, castles, knights, and even a pretty girl are included in this book.
The only problem is that there are a lot of characters. Its hard to keep track of them.
Over all, its a wonderful book. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves action.

The book was recommended to me by one of my students. I decided to give it a try and really enjoyed it. I was disappointed by the ending. I expected Alfred to become someone great, maybe even follow in his father's footsteps. Instead, he goes back to foster care and lives among people who have no idea what he has been through. What happens to Natalia? Do they get together in the future? All of my students who read it asked the same questions. However, we all agreed the book was great.

This book is an incredible book about a 15 year old kid who has nothing in
common with other kids but being a knight changes his life forever!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Alfred. Everything he does is with a heart and never gives up for his true love!! This book is great. Rick Yancey is a great author. I hope there is another!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stochastic Modeling of Scientific Data combines stochastic modeling and statistical inference in a variety of standard and less common models, such as point processes, Markov random fields and hidden Markov models in a clear, thoughtful and succinct manner. I thought this book was going to be kind of a boring history but is really good and interesting,it is about the trojan war and the greek Gods and Godness. I definitely recommend this book to who ever is into the greeks and enjoy some of the poetry that the writer use to express the dialogue in between the personalities, is really good!!!

este clasico de lectura obligatoria para todos los estudiantes de letras es muy bueno aunque no puedo negar que varias veces mientras lo leia me quede dormido y me aburri muchisimo. el estilo de homero, la disgresion que comete de principio a fin (una disgresion es una salida abrupta de un tema para tocar otro muy levemente relacionado)hace que el libro se vuelva pesado. pero es emocionante ver personajes que parecen inmortales y que luchan por recuperar la mujer que les fue arrebatada en una guerra que se extiende por diez anos....
