Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

The pictures are beautiful.......2002-02-25
This book is full of beautiful pictures which I would buy the book just for that reason alone. It also has alot of interesting Celtic information. Recommended.
Fantastic illustrations, fascinating text.......2000-09-07
The illustrations are breathtaking- I want framed copies of them all! The text is well thought out and the concept of the lunar zodiac is expounded with great clarity. There is something here that will interest everyone into Celtic lore.
Beautiful Coffee Table book!.......2000-07-14
This books is chocked full of information and correspondences on the Celtic and Greek level for each lunar tree. I ignore the astrology part because that really isn't the meat of the book for me. The author has done an excellent job of coordinating the legends for an understanding of the myth around the particular tree. Why do I say its an excellent coffee table book, the illustrations are excellent. This is a lovely produced book and an excellent gift for people interested in the subject area.
An excellent compliment to traditional astrology.......2000-03-27
If you're tired of the same old boring astrology books, Helena Paterson puts a new spin on things with her Celtic astrology resources. I have found that her system compliments my personality more than traditional astrology, and her celtic moon sign kit (another product of hers) makes casting your chart that much easier. Not for everone, but I certainly enjoyed it.
Buy it for the illustrations.......1999-10-29
Don't buy this book for the text. It's really not very good at all. But the beautiful illustrations are worth it. We tore up the book and framed the Illos.

Customer Reviews:
Unfortunate.......2005-09-17
There is little value to this book, if any. As another reviewer mentioned, it is similar to Kisma Stepanich' Feary Wicca, which is also entirely without merit. The author knows little about the subject on which she writes, a common Lewellyn Publications issue. Yet another book that attempts to re-write history in favor of the authors' fantacy. Unfortunate.
A deeply spiritual book........1999-05-18
While this book does not offer a comprehensive system of astrology like most text books. It offers myriad clues as to unexplored possibilities within the given conceptual terrain. Instead of telling you how or why a particular mythic device works in the Celtic, Lunar astrological context set forth, it provides examples from the Druidic spiritual index of folklore and tradition to inspire polyvalent readings. A true do-it-yourself book, admittedly not for everyone (especially those wanting to be force fed knowledge), this book instead offers a magnificent starting point for any celtic-zodiac vision quest!
A total Distortion of Astrological Concepts.......1999-01-16
One of the most disappointing reads of my life. This author's comprehension of astrology is totally lacking. She has cobbled together a mish-mash of Celtic gobbledegook and a bit of the Celtic Tree Calendar, and created - what? The most contorted excuse of a system imaginable.
For my money, this isn't worth buying, and I didn't buy it. Kisma Stepanich's "Faery Wicca" is either based on this purported "Celtic Astrology" or is one of the influences that Paterson used to create this abomination. In either case, the research is faulty, the theory unworkable, and the whole concept in need of major revision.
Not well thought through.......1998-11-02
The problem with this "lunar zodiac" is that there's nothing lunar about it. Patterson divides up the solar year into 13 pieces rather than 12, but that doesn't make it lunar--in fact, there's closer to 12 lunar months in a year than 13. It's a bit more complicated, but this simplified version doesn't really do anything for you that solar astrology doesn't already do--except with a Celtic gloss.
Informative and complex but a great additive to the standard.......1998-07-19
This book was great reading. I already know a bit about the standard astrology set up, and this book was very interesting. At times a little hard to follow, but keep treading through it and everything falls into place. A unique 13 house system with quite a few additional stars to learn. The Celtic basis is what perked my interest in this book, and I wasn't disappointed. On the whole, whether or not you know about Astrology, this is a must read.

This is a wonderful book.......2001-05-25
I met Pat Lisi and his wife at a photography class for the Women in the Outdoors program last fall in Appleton WI. He taught us patiently how to use our cameras, and I ended up having my photo of a Red-Tail Hawk published! His book is wonderful. We take it with us as we travel, and you wouldn't believe how many waterfalls you pass by as you travel, without knowing you are so very close to one. Without this book I wouldn't know where they are--so now we check the book, stop by the falls, and date the page in the book as we visit. Its a great book, a great gift for anyone, especially yourself! Thanks Pat for the book, and for the photography tips.
A nice walk through guide.......2000-01-26
The book proivdes a nice walk through of wisconsin waterfalls. The author also did a very nice job with the photos.
Book Description
Word on the street is that being a guy these days can be kinda rough. Well, here are ten fictional stories, some funny, some sad, that deal with that very subject. Stories about being a guy, written by guys. From Walter Dean Myers's story about a black kid who takes a white girl to the prom, to Mo Willems's comedy about an invincible kid who goes to a high school for superheroes, to graphic novelist Craig Thompson's story about the skaters vs. the wussy football players, each manages to ever-so-subtly reflect the modern-day concerns of guyhood.
Gathering together some of the most exciting writers of today and tomorrow, Every Man for Himself offers teen readers a great selection of honest and real stories about everyday guys who get pummeled by some life lessons . . . and still manage to come out on top.

Slow But Very Interesting.......2006-06-14
This was a slow but very interesting book. A book combined with short stories bye many different authors. Lots of these stories were good and a lot were slow. Some were just sort of I didn't even know what was going on. One thing good about this book was the emotions I felt when reading it. I felt so many different emotions such as surprised, sort of creeped out, very glad and extremely sad. This book has taught me some very important life lessons though. Some of those are to stand up for my rights. Also to not judge anyone and to talk to them first to get to know them. My favorite story in this book was the Prom Prize by Walter Dean Myers. It was about an African American boy named Fly Williams. His friends thought it was funny if they ran a contest where girls put there names into a box and whatever name they drew Fly would have to go with her to the prom. It's a good story about teen pressure and what to do if you do get pressured. All together this is a really moving book and might help you in everyday life.

Book Description
This monograph presents the mechanics of vibration, buckling and bending of elastic structures with inclined members such as x-braced high rise frames and conical shells. More than giving detailed derivations of basic equations,
Mechanics of Elastic Structures with Inclined Members is mainly oriented towards practical problem-solving. The book can be used as a textbook for graduate students concentrating on structural mechanics, or as a reference book for engineers and researchers in the fields of engineering mechanics, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and aerospace engineering.
Book Description
A fascinating study in self-satire that brings to life the Hollywood years of F. Scott Fitzgerald
The setting: Hollywood: the character: Pat Hobby, a down-and-out screenwriter trying to break back into show business, but having better luck getting into bars. Written between 1939 and 1940, when F. Scott Fitzgerald was working for Universal Studios, the seventeen Pat Hobby stories were first published in Esquire magazine and present a bitterly humorous portrait of a once-successful writer who becomes a forgotten hack on a Hollywood lot. "This was not art" Pat Hobby often said, "this was an industry" where whom "you sat with at lunch was more important than what you dictated in your office."
The Pat Hobby sequence, as Arnold Gingrich writes in his introduction, is Fitzgerald's "last word from his last home, for much of what he felt about Hollywood and about himself permeated these stories."
Customer Reviews:
Fitzgerald's Pat Hobby.......2006-08-31
Fitzgerald's early fiction often deals with the case of the young man who harbors elaborate and perhaps outlandish aspirations for success. In the Pat Hobby stories -- Fitzgerald's last published work -- we see depicted a 49-year-old man whose dreams have collided with a bleak reality. Years after his brief heyday as a well-paid film writer in the days of silent films, he is now quite simply a failure.
And yet Pat Hobby is a unique type of loser, one who sympathizes with the bosses and moguls rather than his fellow downtrodden peers at the bottom of the totem pole. Witness for example the startling scene in which Hobby, with righteous indignation, takes a lunch tray to attack an extra who had the audacity to sit at the VIP table in the studio canteen and refused to move. This scene offers a fascinating insight into Fitzgerald's own psychology, if one views Hobby as an alter ego for the author, while also raising broader questions about American culture.
"A Patriotic Short" is the story which best encapsulates these questions, as Hobby bitterly reflects on the contrast between his illustrious past, when he had a house with a swimming pool that was once admired by the President himself, and his current menial assignment editing a lame film script. Here, in just a few pages, Fitzgerald deftly weaves together the American obsessions with celebrity, the presidency, and of course the swimming pool, into a commentary on the idea of success itself.
Any mention of a swimming pool by Fitzgerald evokes the sad fate of Jay Gatsby. And though we might find Hobby a less sympathetic character than Gatsby, in many ways he represents the other side of the same debased coin. Both are tragic figures, equally unable to fulfill their dreams of glamour, and perhaps both equally the victims of the American ethos of success.
The original thing........2006-06-02
Of all Fitzgerald's works, these stories are most accessible, especially for those who saw the golden age of television. Of course, my approach to these short stories was from the height of "Gatsby," and the knowledge of the great film,"The Bad and the Beautiful," so I was taken by surprise with the charm, humor and the creative inspiration found in these Hollywood toss-offs. Not only are they insider truths but hung-over fantasies all at once. Groucho and Robert Cummings came to mind as I laughed out loud. Mel Brooks and Woody Allen should pay him dividends,as well as the TV studios who borrowed from his charming, off-beat take on the Hollywood system.
More Heartbreak from the Dream Dump.......2003-08-15
Most people know F. Scott Fitzgerald as one of the deans of the lost generation and an icon of the jazz-age. But toward the end of his life, in the late 1930's, Fitzgerald was also a writer for MGM studios, and these stories represent brilliantly and tragically this period of his life.
Through the eyes of Fitzgerald's Pat Hobby, Hollywood hack writer, we see a different side of golden age tinseltown, where an extraordinary number of talented writers and artists migrated to in the 1930's and 40's, only to butt their heads against militant mediocrity and the "studio system." As an archetype, Pat Hobby stands in for them brilliantly.

The Brilliant Pat Hobby Stories.......2002-11-11
The Brilliant Pat Hobby Stories are just as the title says, brillliant. I have never red a collection of stories as this. The wit of Mr. Fitzgerald is astonishing as he captures ones attention and then ends the story with a dramatic twist that will leave one rolling on the floor.
I have read nothing like these stories and I know that I will never read anything like them again. When my brother convinced me to read these stories I was, at first, a little skeptical about F. Scott Fitzgerald. I had heard my brother rant and rave about him before but now I understand why he was ranting and raving about him so.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this collection of Pat Hobby Short stories. I am now excited to pick up the next F. Scott Fitzgerald Book that my brother will let me borrow.
Hollywood Without The Glamour and Glitz.......2001-10-17
Pat Hobby, once a successful Hollywood screenwriter, is nothing more than a pathetic has been. Broke, tired, and scrambling to find work, Pat takes on some unconventional methods to fill his pockets and put his name back on the big screen. But things don't turn out as smooth as Pat hopes. After all, as Pat himself repeatedly states, "I'm just a writer," and, "it's a dog's life." Pat's antics backfire and in almost every story he is left with nothing but humiliation.
The Pat Hobby stories were written between 1939 and 1940, when Fitzgerald himself was struggling to keep afloat in Hollywood. Fitzgerald paints the Hollywood scene as cold, calculating, and manipulative. A place where kissing up is more important than the quality of your talents, a place where the writer gets no respect, and a place that most likely today harbors the same attitude that Fitzgerald so deftly described in his final days.
In reading the Pat Hobby Stories, one can feel Fitzgerald's own sense of poor self-worth, despair, and hopelessness. Yet ironically, a twist of dark humor is thrown into the stories, evoking in the reader an ambiguous response of laughing at Pat Hobby while pitying him at the same time. This collection is not only entertaining and easy to read, but is one that will give you broader insight into the late great F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Customer Reviews:
great for Royal Copenhagen plate collectors.......2004-10-19
I have always been fascinated by the beautiful blue and white Royal Copenhagen Christmas plates. This book not only tells you about the various plates, it also provides a short history of Denmark.
It also includes the legend of the Christmas plates, which I was unfamiliar with - apparently, there was a Christmas custom of wealthy folks giving their servants plates with all sorts of wonderful food on it. The servants, being poor, admired the beauty of the plates and began to hang them on the walls for decorations. Later, the servants of one employer began copmparing their plates with the servants of another employer. The plates started to become more important than the gifts and much work was done to make them more decorative. The plates began to have the year put on them, so the receivers would know exactly which plate was given which year. Thus the custom of the Christmas plate was started.
There is much more info in this book - it contains pictures of the plates and the background of the scene depicted on the plate. If you are interested in the Royal Copenhagen Christmas plates, this book will be a great resource for you.
