Excellent book for the price........2000-12-07

I've done a ton of research on Samoyeds, Huskies and Malamutes, and this is probably the best book for the money that I have come across. It only cost me a total of I think $8.00 or so to have it shipped to my door and it contains a surprisingly lot of information for its small size. Seriously interested people will probably want to get another book to supplement this, but this is a really good place to start for someone interested in learning about Samoyeds. Its affordable, covers a lot of areas, and has a lot of color pictures. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a very informative books, that gives you all the essentials of keeping a Sammie in a clear and concise manner. There might be more comprehensive books out there on the subject, but this one is really god for the beginning Sammie-lover!

Another fine addition to Culbertson and Randall's series of cemetery guides, this volume covers sixteen sites in Rome (including the Pantheon, St. Peter's Basilica and the Protestant Cemetery) and its environs, Umbria and Tuscany, Florence (including Santa Croce, the English Cemetery and the Duomo), Emilia-Romagna (Bologna, Ferrara, Ravenna, Predappio and Rimini), Northern regions (including Milan and Padua), and Venice (including the cemetery island of San Michele).

This is an invaluabe guide for travel in Italy. There are directions for getting to each site, maps of the cemeteries, and many photographs. There is a good bibliography and a complete index.

The End of an Epic.......2007-06-27

Dragon Ball Vol. 16 marks the end of Akira Toriyama's martial arts epic, Dragon Ball. In this particular volume, Goku battles Piccolo's son Demon Jr. in one of the greatest fights in the series. It brings a tear to my eye that Dragon Ball has ended, but at least in went out fighting. The story continues in Dragon Ball Z, but the sequel is never as good as the original, and DBZ lacks the charm and originality of the original. Than you, Akira Toriyama, for bringing us this epic.

The greatest battle ever! .......2007-03-21

This is by far the best volume in the entire Dragon Ball series. The battle between Goku and Piccolo is awesome and action packed, and also full of suspense. Possibly the coolest chapter in the book is "The Ten Count". This is the part where Goku unleashes all his strength against Piccolo and mortally wounds him. I highly recommend it for any reader of manga, whether you like Dragon Ball or not. If you don't like it, then you will after you read this.

Questions about stability arise in almost every control problem. There are many physical problems in which exponential stability is too strong and for which the concept of strong stability is appropriate. This book provides a solid mathematical framework for a structured approach to strongly stabilizable systems through integration of fundamental theory, physical applications, and numerical results. The author includes a mathematical framework for studying PDE models of large flexible structures, an important class of applications.

The author's structured approach focuses on two themes: the development of system theoretic results for strongly stable systems, and the formulation of these results for a class of dissipative systems with collocated actuators and sensors. The tools set forth in this book extend the scope of applicability of PDE control techniques, including the important aspect of numerical approximation. Most importantly, the author justifies all theory by providing physical examples for which the theory is relevant.

The book encompasses basic system theoretic notions, such as stability, stabilizability, detectability, coprime factorizations, and control related topics like Riccati equations, LQ optimal control, robust stabilization, nonlinear perturbations, and numerical approximation.

They were not the "Banquet Years," those anxious wartime years when poets and novelists were made to feel embarrassed by their impulse to write literature. And yet it was the attitude of those writers and critics in the 1930s and 1940s that shaped French literature--the ideas of Derrida, Foucault, de Man, Deleuze, and Ricoeur--and has so profoundly influenced literary enterprise in the English-speaking world since 1968. This literary history, the prehistory of postmodernism, is what Denis Hollier recovers in his interlocking studies of the main figures of French literary life before the age of anxiety gave way to the era of existentialist commitment.

Georges Bataille, Michel Leiris, Roger Caillois, André Malraux, the early Jean-Paul Sartre are the figures Hollier considers, writers torn between politics and the pleasures of the text. They appear here uneasily balancing the influences of the philosopher and the man of action. These studies convey the paradoxical heroism of writers fighting for a world that would extend no rights or privileges to writers, writing for a world in which literature would become a reprehensible frivolity. If the nineteenth century was that of the consecration of the writer, this was the time for their sacrificial death, and Hollier captures the comical pathos of these writers pursuing the ideal of "engagement" through an exercise in dispossession. His work identifies, as none has before, the master plot for literature that was crafted in the 1940s, a plot in which we are still very much entangled.
