Thank goodness for this book........2004-01-06

My husband loves to gamble so he obviously loves the chapters of this book that reference the casinos and the actual games played within casinos. I, on the other hand, enjoy the other face of Las Vegas which includes the shows, shopping, restaurants and good deals. This book was such a helpful purchase for both of us.

One of the best books I've ever read.......2007-06-23

Two things you need to know before reading my review: 1) I love books more than anything living, breathing, and thinking in this world. However, I only like books that are a) written well, and b) have content worth my while. 2) Books only make me cry if I really love them. The characters, the plot, everything. It has to really get me into it. Ok, now we may begin.

I bawled my eyes out during the first book.
I bawled my eyes out during the second book.
I bawled my eyes out during the third book.
I still love all three.

These are the most amazing books I have ever read. They go on my top ten list (there's about a hundred books on my top ten list, just so you are aware of that fact). They are wonderful romance novels, but that's not all there is to them (though it is the most important part!). There is action in them too, and suspense. I highly recommend these. And don't let the title fool you, they aren't religious novels. Read them unless you absolutely MUST have a ridiculously happy ending. And I suggest having access to all three at the same time, because each book ends with a MAJOR cliffhanger. It's really more like one book with three parts :).

AMAZING BEYOND WORDS.......2006-12-11

Kissed by an angel was the PERFECT BOOK. I don't think I've ever read such an amzing book. It kept me entertained for so long, but at the same time it taught me important life lessons- live life with no regrets, mean it when you say I love you, and so much more. Elizabeth Chandler is so amazing- reading this book was like watching a movie. It put clear pictures in my head and kept me anxious to read more. I couldn't read this book before bed, if I did I know I'd stay up all night reading it. I wish all books were as good as this one- I just want to read it over and over and over! I'M TELLING YOU. BUY THIS BOOK. READ IT. BE HAPPY.

Touching... real heart warmer and tear jerker.......2006-08-27

This book was great. Rarely do I cry while reading books, but during this book, or books, I cried my heart out. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. There was drama, some comedy, and the best of all Romance. It also had myster and such, it was like all my favortie genre's in one. If you are thinking of buying it, do so. I recomend this book if you enjoy sad romance. The plot is wonderful. It keeps you reading 'till the end, and it is one of the books that you will want to read over and over. I have read it up to three times already, and that means something, 'cause I won't read a book again unless it is really good.

i thought Kissed by an Angel was the best book i've EVER read. honestly, i couldn't believe that i could find a book this good. i absolutely loved it. ivy and tristan were soo cute together and i loved how they got together. Elizabeth Chandler is one of my favorite authors because her writing is soo realistic. she is really talented and i wish that i knew more about her and the other books. i also LOVE her dark secrets series.

For turbulent flows at relatively low speeds there exists an excellent mathematical model in the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. Why then is the "problem of turbulence" so difficult? One reason is that these nonlinear partial differential equations appear to be insoluble, except through numerical simulations, which offer useful approximations, but little direct understanding. Three recent developments offer new hope. First, the discovery by experimentalists of coherent structures in certain turbulent flows. Secondly, the suggestion that strange attractors and other ideas from finite dimensional dynamical systems theory might play a role in the analysis of the governing equations. And, finally, the introduction of the Karhunen Loève or proper orthogonal decomposition. This book introduces these developments and describes how they may be combined to create low-dimensional models of turbulence, resolving only the coherent structures. This book will interest engineers, especially in the aerospace, chemical, civil, environmental and geophysical areas, as well as physicists and applied mathematicians concerned with turbulence.

Elementary vortices – those tubular swirling vortical structures with concentrated vorticity commonly observed in various kinds of turbulent flows – play key roles in turbulence dynamics (e.g. enhancement of mixing, diffusion and resistance) and characterize turbulence statistics (e.g. intermittency). Description:
The structure of large-scale turbulence under a broken solitary wave on a 1 in 50 plane slope was studied. Three-component velocity measurements were taken at different heights above a smooth bed in the middle surf zone using an acoustic Doppler velocimeter. The measured data showed that turbulent velocity components were well correlated in the middle part of the water column. The velocity correlations could be produced by an oblique vortex similar to the obliquely descending eddy observed previously by other investigators. The vertical distributions of the relative values of the components of the Reynolds stress tensor showed that the structure of turbulence evolved continuously between the free surface and the bottom. The evolution was related to transition from two-dimensional to three-dimensional flow structures and the effect of the solid bottom on flow structures. Time histories of measured turbulent kinetic energy and turbulence stresses showed episodic turbulent events near the free surface but more sporadic turbulence in the lower layer. Large or intense turbulent events were found to have short duration and time lag relative to the wave crest point. These events also maintained good correlations between the turbulence velocity components close to the bottom. Instantaneous turbulent velocity fields were measured near the bottom at the same cross-shore location by using a stereoscopic particle image velocimetry system. These measurements showed that the near-bed flow field was characterized by large-scale, coherent flow structures that were the sources of most of the turbulent kinetic energy and turbulence stresses. The types of organized flow structures observed included vortices and downbursts of turbulence descending directly from above, lateral spreading of turbulent fluid along the bed, and formation of vortices in shear layers between fluid streams. A common feature of the organized flow structures near the bed was the large turbulence velocities in the longitudinal and transverse directions, which reflected the influence of a solid bottom on the breaking-wave-generated turbulence arriving at the bed.
