This book called Kicked Out is really good its about this girl named Dime that likes this boy named Gabe and he likes her he brakes up with his ex- girlfriend to go out with her Dime also gets into lot of trouble she came home late and her mother an father always yell at her and she yells back. Her parents think the reason why shes like this is bacause her and he brother Darren got in a car accident and hes in a wheelchair and sometimes she fells bad for him and wishes she could take his place instead of her brother Darren being in a wheelchair.one nigt when Dime got home so late her parents were so angry they would yell at her and say " I wish you would start acting like your brother Darren." So she just ran to her room the next morning she came down stairs and saw her brother out sitting with his and her parents they tld her they were thinking about Dime living with her brother Darren for a while untill she got better with things. Dime was so excited she said yes and ran up stairs to pack to get ready to go to her brothers house. As soon as she got to Darrens house she called her bestfried Tiff and her boyfriend Gabe she told them to come over to see her new house. When Tiff and Gabe got there they started to act like it was there own house Gabe started to put the stereo on like it was his right in front of Darren and Dime. Dime didn't say anything because Gabe was her boyfriend and Dime didn't want him to get mad at her and Tiff was getting in Darren's refigerator like it was hers soon after they wanted to leave Gabe wanted Dime to come with hi but she hisitated for a minuet because of Darren because he cant make hin own dinner from the accident her cant move his legs or barly cant move his arms but she left with Gabe and Tiff anyways. She gotback so late after her parents called that her parents called again and Dime answered it and her mother yelled at her and said " Why were you out so late." dime didn't say anything so she hung up on her mother. One day Gabe was outside of school and Dime saw him with his arms around his ex- girlfriend Dime got so mad she dumped him for good she said " No boyfriends i don't need him anyways." Her and her brother Darren made a pak if she passed her drivers test and got her lisens they would drive all the way to California and so she did do as she was told and her and her brother darrn rode off to California together with Dime's new car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a good book!!

After Dime's older brother is relegated to a wheelchair as a parapalegic after a car accident, Darren's situation seems to hit his sister harder than in hits him. Dime, a motocycle enthusiasist with a dyed pink Mohawk, acts out in a attempt to live loud and fast instead of trying to live up to her good brother's reputation. When things get too tense at home, their parents allow Dime to accept Darren's invitation to move in with him for a while, but will distance alone solve their problems?

Like other books in the Orca Soundings series, the slim volume tackles an issue that might be appropriate for a rousing class discussion: in this case, differently abled / family relationships. This is a high-low book that has a vibrantly colorful main character, and every teens dream: getting some freedom from Mom and Dad in a safe environment. Simple yet varied vocabulary and language realistical enough to keep the attention of teens while remaining clean enough for classroom use are highlights of all the books in the series. Canadian author Goobie has a particular flair for creating dramatic yet believable situations, and is a rising star on the forefront of YA literature.
School and public librarians will be overjoyed to discover this high quality new series for reluctant and struggling readers. Highly recommended for middle school and up.

Fact or fiction?.......2006-05-23

This book is a fun, easy, very fast read. I could not put it down. But I am left wondering if it is true or not. As he readily indicates in the story, he is a habitual liar. He lies in order to try to make a buck. So, is his story truth or more lies? Who knows?

The book is billed as an insider's view, the true story, etc. But this guy failed. In fact, his character has very few morals whatsoever. So I wonder what the real insider view is, perhaps as written from someone with a bit more character and who did not fail.

If true, I feel sorry for the author because he obviously did not have much common sense and was repeatedly taken in by an individual he thought was his agent. If false, I feel sorry for all the people who will read it an believe it to be true.

A Great Read!.......2006-04-05

I bought this book because of the clever title, hoping the inside would be just as good, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. My So-Called Career In Hollywood is the true story of a struggling, on-the-fringe writer who tried to become rich and famous in show business. He came very close many times. The resulting book, which recounts his adventures on the set of some of the most famous TV shows in history (Lost In Space, The Partridge Family, Land Of The Giants, Happy Days, etc) is both very funny and tragically sad. A victim of the cruel and unforgiving Hollywood system, Ellery Klass spent most of his life "on the verge" of making it big, the brass ring always mere inches out of reach. Anyone who wants to work in Hollywood needs to read this sobering account of what it's really like behind the studio walls.

I love this book. I could not put it down. It is an honest and funny story about the author's experience writing for T.V. shows and about the stars he has met through the years. If you are looking for a, can't put down book, buy this one. You will not be disappointed. This book will not be re-sold by me. It will go into my bookcase to be re-read in the future. I do hope E. Klass writes another one as he still has more stories to tell and I would love to hear them.

I found this book to be very truthful and helpful in understanding the teaching of the JW's. Having some of my family involved in this cult I struggled to understand what they were witness to. They don't believe that God is in control of our lives nor do they believe Jesus is any more than a man yet they pray in His name. They don't believe that God heals the sick they believe that the healing comes from the person who is sick and the Dr.s They do pray that the person will have the strength to heal but the healing isn't from GOD. There seems to be a lot of double talk and this book helped me to understand the control that this cult has over the people who belong to it and answered my many questions. I would highly recommend it to any one that has any questions about this cult.

A heavily fictionalized book with little purpose other than to spread slanderous lies about the Jehovah's Witness religion.......2005-07-06

First let me start by saying that I only read this book, because my therapist (that my mother forces me to see) made me. In this book, The man claims to have been kicked out of the Jehovah's Witness religion because he believed that his daughter had been miraculously healed by god. From there what followed was nothing but Lies, half truth's, and inaccuracies about the teachings and practices of Jehovahs Witnesses. I honestly have difficulty believing the man ever was a Jehovah's Witness, more realistically, I think he new somebody who was and for one reason or another was dissatisfied with them. Probably the biggest lie that this book focusses on, is that, Mr. Trombley claims that Jehovahs Witness do not believe god heals people in this day and age, and that it is wrong to pray for those who are sick. Just go to one of the congregation meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses (at a Kingdom Hall) and chances are in the closing prayer, you might hear someone praying for a sick member in the congregation to get well. Another lie in this book is that Jehovah's Witnesses believe in some kind of "point system" that gets you into God's Kingdom. This is purely fictional on the part of Mr. Trombley. Mr. Trombley also claims that Jehovah's Witnesses base their information of of their own publications, when in reality they base their information (and their publications) on the Bible. Within their publications, every scripture used is referenced so that it can be looked up in ANY copy of the bible (Contrary to popular belief, the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is not a different Bible). In addition Jehovah's Witnesses only produce publications to encourage BIBLE study, as they view GODS WORD THE BIBLE as the supreme authority on all matters. I could go on all day refuting the lies in this book, but suffice it to say that this book that Mr. Trombley claims to be a story of his finding truth, is nothing more than a poorly written, heavily fictionalized, slanderous attack on the Jehovah's Witness religion.

I have this book assigned as a text book for one of my classes and it is superb. Very clear explaination from the very basics of statistics and how it builds up to thermodynamics and beyond. The book succintly explains all of the necessary math and has instructive examples to drive the point home. I really like this book!

Good enough to be self-study book.......2006-02-26

This book is really amazing, gives good examples and alot of questions. It is easy to follow, but it hasn't the whole math of many derivations.

Want to understand the physics if life? Need to read this!.......2003-08-02

The topic of this book, the physical chemistry of molecules, especially those relevant to biology, is one of the most challenging courses to a college student in chemist. But these authors have tried to make it easy for you - and they succeed. They used figures, pictures and analogies to help you to understand some of the most sophisticated concepts in science. For example entropy. The authors are leading researchers in the field and they brought a unique perspective to the subject; the writing is very lucid.

Not the scifi Mr. Wells is better known for.......1997-08-28

H. G. Wells is best known for "War of the Worlds" and "The Time Machine", 2 groundbreaking, classic science fiction titles. But "Kipps: The Story of a Simple Soul" is a heart-warming account of a young man suddenly thrown into a higher class and managing to eventually marry his childhood sweetheart and live out a dream.

I really enjoyed this book, and the main characters stayed with me, and the events became my own experiences. I can vividly remember sipping a cappucino when Kipps met Chitterlow. I remember the song playing on the radio when Kipps heard what Walshingham had done. And I remember the rain outside when it was clarified why the story had a narrator that was not involved in the story itself.

Yes, this is truly a 'feel-good' novel that will stay with me for a long time, and I recommend it to anyone who likes to just sit down and read, and meet likeable characters, without a lot of tech talk, gory action and confusing subplots. Don't pass this one up
