Book Description

Customer Reviews:
Homeland Security are a Joke.......2007-04-27
Mark I. Field paints a glamorous interesiting life as a flight courier. what he didn'and couldn't account for were the morons at Homeland Security and TSA. I called 26 different companies and they were all out of business due to the moronic procedures of Homeland Security and TSA. These are the geniuses who were taking away our toenail clippers in fear we might steal a 747 with them. I haver served in security myself and it is common knowledge that a couriered set of documents is safef by far that freight stored in a warehouse for days on end,
T. Tulp
Out of time and out of place.......2004-07-01
The author is less than honest with the reader. Here?s why. You cannot travel when you want to because travel dates are set by the courier company, which of course is not practical for the average traveler. Other hassles involve not going directly to your desired destination. For example, if your destination is London you may wind up being transferred first at Amsterdam before going on. Most courier packages are ?one-way? ? and a return flight is not easy to book. If you chose to courier a package you ?must meet a representative upon arrival?, and in some cases this can take hours before the item is ?back-tracked? and deemed ?clear to proceed? (as happened to me once in Ireland); not to mention the many forms that you will be forced to fill out. The author does not bother to mention that most courier companies request that you ?become a member? for an average annual fee of $45. Or the fact that it is next to impossible to travel with a loved one because the odds of finding two packages going to the same place at the same time are astronomical. But the worst is yet to come. Courier packages are not widely available as they were before 911 because private security companies are now picking up the slack. When they are available, they are subject to new and evolving international laws which may bring the courier ?under suspicion?, even though, as the author misleadingly claims, ?He never touches the package?. Courier traveling is based on a gap in international law which authorities are currently attempting to close. Couriers may soon be held liable if it can be demonstrated to some degree that ?proximity? or ?association by proxy? can be established. Many people have been questioned or held ?under suspicion? on Money Laundering charges and some have even been arrested. Many illegal items are shipped through courier packages often not to the knowledge of the courier company, but as a matter of fact to the authorities. The companies themselves are covered by insurance and by various disclaimer laws that do not apply to the courier. Shipping companies courier their packages through customs faster and cheaper as luggage. But this expediency sacrifices security for the sake of saving money. In a post 911 world this simply should not be allowed. Under international law, any given country is allowed to hold packages for hours or days and in some cases for weeks at a time. It is not worth the hassle or the risk! This is the kind of book someone can paste together in a few days, or hours from readily available sources on the Internet. The author is verbose; writes with a hustler?s mentality; and does not bother to give the reader more than a few pages of his own writing. It is a waste of paper.
Out of time and out of place.......2004-07-01
The author is less than honest with the reader. Here's why. There is the limitation of `luggage allotment' - often not more than one carry-on bag is permitted to a courier. You cannot travel when you want to because travel dates are set by the courier company, which of course is not practical for the average traveler. Other hassles involve not going directly to your desired destination. For example, if your destination is London you may wind up being transferred first at Amsterdam before going on. Wrong book.......2003-06-02
I was reading Kelly Monachans book, not this one. Ignore my reviews.
The straight review........2003-06-02
The first poster said:
"The 152 pages of large type, photos and unneeded banner separators created the impression of lot of fluff. The same text could be contained in 1/2 as many pages."
There is no photos in the whole book. The book is 200 pages not including glossery and index. And its normal type.
To set the record straight, this book gives me much more info than is available on the web. Some of it is common sense and fluff but even so you will only get a tenth of the info in this book on the web. The company resources in the book are outdated but this book is printed in 99, resources likely gathered in 98. Take it for what its worth. Go to the library and pay $0 for the book. If your in it for the money its better than $50 for a yearly website membership.

Customer Reviews:
the worst ending to the series ever.......2007-03-19
this is supposedly the last book of the entire series. it leaves no closure. it ends on a cliff. one that i felt like jumping off of after i finished this book. i invested so much of my youth in these books and she ends it like this? im tempted to think that she just wanted to get it over with. or she ran out of creative juices? or she just quit and they had to publish the book so someone else just jotted down an ending. i was so upset with this ending that im tempted to get rid of all my pine hollow books and just stick the saddle club. what was she thinking? if she ever reads this i hope what she goes away with is WRITE ANOTHER BOOK! one that ends with some closure. i have no clue if these people get on with thier lives or what happens. and that is just not fair to someone who has read these books for years and years. who read them over and over till they were dog earred. who felt like a member of the saddle club and felt like she knew the people like read friends and who used to get in trouble for reading these books instead of doing chores. its just completely unfair.
Cliff Hanger.......2006-07-24
Ok..ive read all the Pine Hollow books and Bonnie Bryant really really needs to write another one. This book ends on a cliff hanger. I love that Carole and Ben are finally together. As you find out in this book they are like perfect together! I love the way Scott treats Lisa also and of course Stevie and Phil are together still and always will be!
Im not going to give away any details but i really want to know what the whole pine hollow gang does next!
end leaves you hanging.......2005-09-15
This book marks the end of the Pine Hollow series. Stevie begins training for eventing. Carole and Ben make slightly more progress in the romance department, as do Lisa and Scott. Callie begins once again to enjoy Scooby after she gives George a restraining order. And there is a devastating fire, but I won't give away the end.
Some nitpicks about the horse aspect of the series.
1. With the breeds I'm familiar with, the horse receives its name at birth and it is registered under that name. That is also the show name. While the rider can nickname the horse anything he/she wants, there is no way for the rider to change the show name/registered name on the spur of the moment, as was portrayed here.
2. At most stables, different ages ride together. Age does not denote experience level. All beginners aren't in elementary school, all intermediate riders aren't in junior high, etc. In real life, people take riding lessons alongside people of different abilities (though similar). Time constraints demand this. Also all teenagers don't suddenly stop taking lessons and train their horses mostly themselves, though they may have permission to ride independently.
3. Callie is an endurance rider. Wouldn't she want a stable with a coach that specialized in the sport? In none of the books does she have a lesson with Max or anyone else, except for therapeutic riding. Is it realistic for someone at the top level of competition not to need a coach, regardless of experience?
4. People who can afford fancy gadgets and purebred horses aren't all rich snobs. Even the snobs that I've known aren't anywhere near the ones portrayed here. Nor are people who compete at the highest levels mostly rich snobs either. That's just an unfair stereotype.
5. Stevie, Lisa and Carole in a much earlier book experienced a terrifying barn fire firsthand. Stevie, especially, risked her life to save the horses. With that in mind, it makes no sense that fear of being a tattletale would keep them from alerting Max to a real problem in his barn. And if Max is around enough to give lessons and supervise the stable, wouldn't he eventually figure out that Maureen is smoking at the barn? He's not supposed to be that clueless.
Ooooh !!!!!.......2005-04-26
This was a tear jerker i have read the saddle club since for about10years and almost think of the characters and pine hollow as being real so i was just as stunned as the characters when well u ll have to read it Please write more I wanna know what happens next where do the characters and the saved horses go from there do they start from scratch or go somewhere else please pleeeeeaaaaassssssssseeeeeee write more !!!!!!! The pine hollows books have been a very nice change of pace from the childish saddle club books they were just getting good and now this tragedy I'm still in shock!!
Soooooo Sad.......2005-04-23
ok first of all she seriously needs to write another book! everybody should read this book. if you are reading this miss bryant pleeeeeeaaaase write some more books!

Book Description
The intent of
Essential IVF is to present current issues in clinical IVF that encompass the varied activities of those engaged in this field. By integrating clinical, basic research and laboratory-related aspects of human reproduction, readers with diverse interests should obtain a more complete understanding of the impact, importance and relevance of each in the progress of infertility treatment and an appreciation of whether emerging technologies will or should contribute to this progress in the near future. The topics selected for this volume include research that has begun to explain the origins of different follicular, gamete, embryo and uterine competence as well as specific laboratory procedures and protocols that may have important clinical implications for the generation of developmentally viable embryos. Comprehensive reviews and discussions of past and contemporary studies in clinically-oriented chapters provide a biological and outcome-based context in which current practices and protocols in human IVF may need to be reconsidered.

Product Description
This textbook covers the essentials of atmospheric radiation at a level appropriate to advanced undergraduates and first-year graduate students. It was written specifically to be readable and technically accessible to students having no prior background in the subject area and who may or may not intend to continue with more advanced study of radiation or remote sensing. The author emphasizes physical insight, first and foremost, but backed by the essential mathematical relationships. The second edition adds new exercises, improved figures, a table of symbols, and discussions of new topics, such as the Poynting vector and the energy balance within the atmosphere. The book web page includes additional resources for courses taught using this book, including downloadable/printable PDF figures as well as solutions to most problems (for instructors of recognized courses only).
Customer Reviews:
Excellent book!.......2005-02-11
An excellent introductory book on atmospheric radiation that fills a previously huge void in the books available on this topic. Written in a style that differs from any textbook I've ever experienced. The book covers a wide spectrum of issues related to atmospheric radiation, but doesn't overwhelm the reader in the process. Practical examples and applications of the theories and ideas presented abound. A very refreshing...dare I say enjoyable...scientific book.
Perfect book for an introductory level.......2005-01-14
This book was used in my graduate atmospheric radiation class. It was far supperior to the book used in my undergrad class (wallace and hobbs introduction to atmospheric sciences) not that W&H was a bad book but this book is much more focused since it is not as broad as W&H book.
Good aspects of this book is that it starts with a good fundemental background before it delves into the real meat of the course (being radiative calculations for both long wave and short wave theory). The book is very easy to read for someone with introductory knowledge of radiative theory and is not much tougher without this introductory knowledge. The figures are clear and concise and the topics are well organized.
Downfall of this book is the excersices presented to reinforce topics. Most of the excercises are just plug and chug or are descriptive problems that really only require one to read the previous section. more problems and problems that require more thinking would be benificial but the author already aknowledges that this was a week point of the book.
Over all the book was written very well and was easy to understand. It is a great tool for anyone interested in atmospheric radiation, either on an introductory level or as a complement to ones library. Given the other books available for a course on radiation this one ranks near or on the top.
And as a University of Oklahoma Meteorology alumni, I must say, Boomer Sooner.

Book Description
Jimgrim and Allah's Peace is another of Mundy's highly exciting adventure stories featuring James Schuyler Grim, better known as Jimgrim. Jimgrim is an American secret service agent employed by the British and stationed in the Mid-East. His adventures, protecting British interests against the French and other countries meddling in the region following World War I, comprise one of the most interesting creations from the pulp magazines of the early 20th century.
Download Description
I am no man of iron. I haven't iron nerves. Not one second of that descent was less than hell. I could hear the thunder of some kind of battering-ram on the door at the foot of the stair. I could imagine the rope chafing against the sharp edge of the parapet as they paid it out hand over hand. The only thing that made me keep my head at all was knowledge that Abdul Ali had had to do the trip feet-upward, with his head in a bag. When they let go too fast it was rather like the half-way stage of taking chloroform. When they slowed up, there was the agonizing dread of pursuit. And through it all there burned the torturing suggestion that the rope might break.
Customer Reviews:
Super Reader.......2007-08-30
Jimgrim is Major James Schuyler Grim. He is in Jerusalem, and is doing his heroic best to keep a lid on things. With all the factions and religions and races floating around the place, he definitely has his hands full. Enlisting the aid of an amateur or two, he wants to stop a nut that possesses a large amount of TNT before he destroys something historic.

I had been there a couple of times before the World War, when the Turks were in full control. So I knew about the bedbugs and the stench of the citadel moat; the pre-war price of camels; enough Arabic to misunderstand it when spoken fluently, and enough of the Old Testament and the Koran to guess at Arabian motives, which are important, whereas words are usually such stuff as lies are made of.
