I really liked this book. I usally am pretty low on cash, but ilove to read, and am always asking my rents' to buy me books, but lasttime i asked my mom put her foot down she said she spends almost 200 DOLLARS on books for me every month. and she told me that if i wanted anymore books i would be the one to pay for them. so i won this award for attendance at school ($15), and went shoppin. since it had been like forever since i had bought any books i wanted to get a long but good won, i love reading books that are set up as personal narritoves, and when i saw this i had to get it. I really got into the book, i was afraid if i put it down luc would go to the party without me nd i woulld miss out. the book made me bite my nails, i just kept wishing, if only i had 2 twins and could be in 3 places at once withoput anyone noticing !

The use of image stabilization has grown to the point that it is now a common component of modern optical systems for imaging, communications, and remote-sensing applications. The benefits of image stabilization to astronomical research alone are so rich that it is common for astronomical telescopes, built over the last century, to be retrofitted with fast steering mirrors and tip-tilt sensors to extend their useful lifetimes.

This text provides the basics of image stabilization starting with a consideration of the cause of image blurring and an introduction to the components commonly used in constructing a stabilized imaging system. With this foundation, an example image stabilized system is described and used to introduce some of the important parameters in evaluating the performance of image stabilization systems. As image stabilization systems are key components of adaptive optics systems, the more sophisticated sensing and correction devices used in this area are briefly addressed. Rather than being a mathematical, rigorous treatment of image stabilization, it provides the basic ideas in an easy-to-read format.

This is a must read for professors of optics, and all students interested in the science of optometry. The diagrams are extremely helpful, as is the comprehensive glossary at the end of the text. It is a valuable book, for beginners and optics professionals alike.

The book is dedicated to the undergraduates and undoubtedly, it seems to be an ideal book for an electrical engineering student to get familiar with the basic concepts of modern optical engineering. The book provides an excellent coverage of basic phenomena encountered in optics together with technical advances in the field of telecommunication, signal processing, fiber optics, optical detectors and spatial light modulators.

There are 12 chapters and each chapter has its own list of references as well as problems related to the topics concerned. Moreover, almost every chapter includes a few worked-out examples in tune with the theoretical principles explained so as to guide the reader to solve the problems supplied at the end of the chapter.
