Disappointing Rehash.......2002-02-16
This book is simply a rehash of quite a bit of past recollections of the great Vince Lombardi that are culled from previous works. Anyone who is a Lombardi affecionado will learn very little that is new. Also, in several passages of recollections there are no mention of Lombardi at all. Strange to say the least. Disappointing book. I guess all there is to be remembered about Vince has been said and done.

A very "readable" book which covers every medium used for film and television: From the differences , advantages and disadvantages in the various equipment that is available. Covering titles such as film, video, light, sound, filters, underwater and others. Written by a man who has made his mark in the industry, the book taught me, informed me or put into words what I already did but couldn't explain. As a video assistant, and now as a cameraman in news, I am better. All the knowledge you need is in the book, how you use it is a matter of taste.

Better start early!.......2006-08-01
Someone told me to get this book as it is an easy book to comprehend. However, that was not the case. This book is definitely NOT recommended for beginners. It is a highly technical book. Those who know the basics of film, light, waves, optics, etc will get this book. I will, though, not discourage beginners from trying it out. If you're in this field and want to stay in it, someday you'd be required to know these things. Better start early!

Scenarios, templates, and "modern" Discworld.......2003-04-01
Discworld Also picks up where GURPS Discworld left off and includes information on the more modern innovations that have occurred on the Disc in the books Pratchett has written since GURPS Discworld was published, such as the communications explosion and the opening of EcksEcksEcksEcks, and also offers more information and help to the game master and players. There are also new racial packages and character templates (including one for creating an Igor!).
It also includes 3 full-blown adventure scenarios and 3 adventure seeds. I've only run one of the adventures, Lost and Found, twice at conventions. This adventure has always run beautifully with both those familiar with the Disc (even those more familiar with it than I) and those who are not. Warning, though, the laughter that erupts from time to time at the table tends to distract those at the surrounding tables who opted (silly people that they are) to play something else!
This book is a joy to read, even if you're not planning on running a game in the Discworld setting, but is, of course, primarily intended for those interested in running a game in the setting. I would note that you really need to own GURPS Discworld (or the Discworld Roleplaying Game, as it's now being called) to use it.

This is the 80's edition, and mentions mostly faded sports starts. INteresting, and useful, but dated. Try "What they STILL don't teach you..."
Don't be fooled.........2006-03-13
If you are in the business, this book can be a little educational.
The main point in the successful of a business is the PR and have a vast (or worthy) business net and the reputation.
Negotiation is important but you will have nothing if you cannot start a negotiation. You think that can make a deal with a famous? Mark H. Mccormack amass a fortune not only following this instructions in this book, also with their contacts and he say nothing about it. ;-) Of course only a dumbass can success in the life and talk about their secret to how to obtain it.
Anyways, the book is a little boring.
Is It Possible They Still Don't Teach It At Harvard?.......2002-10-22
Mr. McCormack reminds us of the fundamentals and basic goals of business in order to succeed and prosper. The book is quite clear and informative. It's the kind of book that you want to share with everyone, but on the other hand keep it to yourself because what you learn from this book will make you appear like a genius. This is a book that everyone from students to business managers and owners should read. It's a quick and easy read with long-lasting practical benefits. It is a must read.
A Must Read.......2001-08-06
I read McCormack's first book right out of college and use his advice daily. He has a no-nonsense approach to business and understands business is about common sense and relationships. This is an important book that everyone from the recent college graduate to the CEO should read. It is a must read.
How To Become a Successful Negotiator.......2001-02-07
This book applies by all circumstances and all field of our life to improve its quality. I would like to pay more attention to the following 5 points of view and learn how to control your bad luck.
1. In charge of host not guest. He says, "Do prepare the things they are never expecting at the meeting. This means surprised something always can enforce the relationship between you and them. Get ready? Go for it. 2. Know about your customer or client first before you let them purchase your produts. Keep listening and watching their body and oral language to understand what they want rather than emphasize your desire. That's the point. This may lead you high performance.
3. Avoid conflicting. Excellent negotiator can be able to endure until right time coming with perseverance to win finally.
4. More listen less speak. Open your ears and close your mouth toward others. It will lead to successful businessmen but difficult to do.
5. Remind the importance of time management Persuade your time or you will be conquered by it. Manage it minute by minute effectively. In this case, we don't need speed. We need depth.
His lesson is still available even though 13 years over from his writing time.

This book is hard to put down. I read it all in 1 night. It made me cry. I recommend this book to all of my friends to read. This is a book that the world needs to know about and learn from.

This volume tells of the Americans and there is also some account of the civilians affected by the Battle of the bulge as it touched on Luxemburg. There are many accounts of experiences during the Battle of the Bulge.

Samuel Katz investigates the law enforcement agency of the U.S. Department of State, the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). He describes in this book the efforts that DSS take to find Islamic radicals responsible for assaults on Americans and American interests, including the bombings of the embassies in Africa and the two World Trade Center Attacks.
Worth reading.......2007-08-23
I've read stuff by Katz before, namely one of his previous books "Soldier Spies," something of a crash course on Israeli Spec.Ops. and Humint communities. He's worth reading as is this book "Relentless Pursuit," which is about the State Departments small law enforcement arm and its pursuit of a master Jihadi. The author an IDF military intelligence veteran seems to have a knack for making many unofficial contacts in the counter terrorism and law enforcement community. He does not write in a very polished or scholarly way but in a style that makes you feel like you are looking over the shoulders of investigators. Much of what he writes unfortunately does come from non-attributable sources, but that is part and parsle of that arena. Worth picking up.
MAKE UP YOUR OWN FACTS AUTHOR.......2006-02-09
Samuel M. Katz gets it wrong! Pakistani intelligence arrested Ramzi Yousef in Pakistan due to a Pakistani informer ( a new terrorist recruit) decided to cash in on the reward. THE FBI, THE CIA, AND THE DSS HAD LITTLE TO DO with his capture! Ramzi was wanted worldwide for everything from trying to assasinate pakistani leaders to the WTC bombing and after his arrest Pakistani intel turned Ramzi over to the DDS and they flew him back to the U.S. for prosecution.
This book contains lots of unattributable interviews and sources, no index, no bibliography and the back cover reveals nothing about the author's credentials. It is unlikely that U.S. or Pakistani intelligence granted any interviews with this author and retired officials would not reveal any info. due to the current nature of the subject matter today. So the contents of the book can't be trusted.

Extraordinary page-turner...I would like to register my demand that a sequel be written immediately about the Diplomatic Security Service! The people of DSS are clearly heroes who do not get the credit that they so richly deserve for their incredible valor and sacrifice.
A Classic True Account of America's Global Heroes.......2003-09-05
This is the first book to truly talk of the efforts of DSS, the State Department's little known yet all-important law enforcement entity. While other books about America's war against terrorism have focused on the shortcomings of the CIA and FBI in stopping al-Qaeda in its tracks, this book focuses on America's first true victory in this bloody struggle--the capture of World Trade Center bombing mastermind Ramzi Yousef--and how the handwriting for attacks such as 9/11 had been on the wall for years.
Other accounts might pick and steal from this book's true stories of the federal agents who serve this nation in some of the most distant global outposts in the world, but Katz's amazing book remains an original and an American classic.

Recommended for Museum Docents.......2002-06-12
This book contains invaluable information for museuum docents whose presentations involve gilded objects of any kind. There are, for sure, technical discussions of the physics and chemistry of gilding, but these are the minority, and their presence should not deter. The history, process and restoration practices for gilding are carefully described in lucid prose. Emphasis is on English, European, and North American topics, with only the briefest mention of Spanish and inferential mention of colonial Spanish-American gilding, in religious or secular settings. This omission, of interest to docents in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas, in no way reduces the usefulness of the essays for them, or for others. Highly recommended.

If your looking for a resource guide for restoration of gilded surfaces this is it. This manual is very detailed and techincal. This is not for the crafter but for the professional. Endorsed by the the Society of Gilders.
