The Rediscovery of Ed Wood.......2002-01-24

Unlike so many of the sequels which receive awards in this work, this sequel to the "50 Worst Films of all Time" exceeds the original. The Medveds have the huge advantage of having tapped into the huge underground "bad film" cult and discovered a motherlode of new bad films, of which Ed Wood's "Plan Nine from Outer Space" is the standout. (In turn this inspired the Tim Burton film.) Others include Night of the Lepus (a rabbit monster movie), Airport 79: The Concorde (winner of the worst romantic dialogue), and "Him" (the least erotic adult film ever made). When I was young I read this book from cover to cover and am still wondering whether the final claim, that one of the films exposed therein was a hoax, was itself true, and if so, which one. Surely not "They Saved HItler's Brain?" (Actually, that WAS real....)

Medved's Only Good Book.......2001-02-15

The Golden Turkey Awards is a well-written, funny review of some of the most inane and stupid movies that Hollywood has ever produced. Michael Medved was onto something here, but in later years he sold out by becoming somewhat of a whiny right wing critic of Hollywood. It's hard for me to decide between him and John Stossel (of ABC's 20/20) which one is in more dire need of a sharp blow upside the head with a 2 x 4.

Hilarious. A must for movie buffs..........1999-06-09

This is one of the most hilaroious books i have ever read. The only ones that have made me laugh as much have been by the same authors. If you are a film buff and know some history of film making, you need this book. I reccomend to people who enjoy witty comments, dialogue so bad you laugh, and inane plots. Sorry, to say it is out of print. But get it if you find it.

This is an excellent resource on cannabis genetic's and how cannabis genetic characteristic's are utilized from the male and female plants.. IT IS NOT FOR THE BEGINNER wanting to learn how to grown cannabis, it is for experienced growers and designed for the advanced grower or anyone interested in cannabis genetic's to create their own variety of cannabis. Very comprehensive!.......2006-08-18

I Lightly read part of this book when i first began to read about cannabis. Boy oh boy was it a handful. This is a very advanced book. If you are simply a toker then i wouldn't suggest this book, but if you are an advanced grower/breeder this is for you.

I would suggest reading other grow material and particularly greens grow bible before diving into this book.

I will have to read it again now that i am a little more knowledgable.

To have gone through this book and come out the other side is a profound experience, like some sort of a futuristic biology class that specialized in the stuff that gets you best baked. I would not hesitate to force any kind of plant lover to gravitate towards this book like it was about a rose bush or an apple tree. This is one of the best books about the cannabis plant I have read. It is dedicated to the science of the cannabis plant. There is some advanced growing material in here also but the cannabis plant is talked about for nearly 300 pages without getting boring. You will reference this for life.

This book is a very deep marijuana learning experience.

It is exactly right for anyone who wants to know everything about the marijuana plant. This is a scientific book but not so hard to understand. I would think this book is not just for growers but for anyone interested in the plant.

It has advanced growing information and some really interesting facts and seed banks, cloning and maybe things not really talked about much outside of private circles. I have seen stuff in this book that I have not elsewhere. It is a gem if you really want a unique understanding of marijuana.

I say it is the 2nd Book on your list because like the other reviewer said you should get his other book first if you want to grow. But I see many owning this one also. It is well worth the price for the amount of information.

The three authors of this book have written at least 19 books on business between themselves. I have a feeling they may know what they are talking about.

The book focuses on what you need to do to start your own business. It covers the main excuses most people use as to why they have not started their own business yet, and what you can do about it. Lack of money? Lack of health care? bad economy? I'm scared? There is a way around all of these issues and the authors talk about each of them and more.

One section in the book I liked was "what if I want to start a business but do not know what kind of business I want to start?" I did the exercise listed in that chapter and came up with two good ideas that I had never thought about before. Now I need to follow the book and put them into action.

Feeling job stuck and investigating the need to go out on your own? It's time to just stop all the theorizing and get started... Over the years I have bought scores of entrepreneur/business books and most of them, more or less, teach what they claim. Additionally, I rarely ever write reviews. Confirms my decision to 'be my own boss'!.......2003-04-01

I have been my own boss for several years and compared to the 20+ I spent wokring for someone else, this is heaven! When I decided to take the plunge and work at home, one of the first books I read was The Edward's Making Money With Your Computer at Home. In their new book I found the boost to my self confidence that every beginning or experienced business owner needs now and then.

I particularly enjoyed the many tried and true words of wisdom and found reassurance learning that others make some of the same mistakes I have. Over the years, I read a variety of books about being self employed.

I loved this book even more than her first, as it was more complete and honest. However, I still question whether or not Loretta was so faithful all those yrs knowing her husband was always cheating and she had so many opportunities. It seems like maybe she left something out, making her look a little too perfect, maybe because of her children. I did really enjoy the book.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was hard to put down. I bought it in West Virginia at one of her shows. I hadn't read her first book but after reading this one, I also bought it. She had a facinating life and I still enjoy going to see her shows when I can.

This is the third Loretta Lynn book that I've purchased. I first got "Coal Miner's Daughter" then I got, "You're Cookin' It Country." Both of those books are true Loretta and this book is no different. It's sort of "Coal Miner's Daughter" Part Two. She tells stories in an easy to understand way and the book flows as if Loretta is in the room telling you the stories face to face. It is a really great book

Couldn't Put It Down.......2006-08-17

Having read Loretta Lynn's memoir, "Coal Miner's Daughter" and seeing the movie, Coal Miner's Daughter, and having recently visited her Ranch and also her homeplace, I couldn't wait to read her latest memoir, "Still Woman Enough". I honestly could not put the book down. Loretta Lynn proves she is a pillar of strength as she describes the trials, tribulations and secrets of her marriage, and the demands of show buisness, much of which she did not mention in her first book. She is friendly and down to earth throughout the book and is an inspiration to many women.

The author finds a lot to praise in R's performance. That alone disqualifies this as a serious book. Rumsfeld is the man who had no plan for an occupation of Iraq. He expected the population to be grateful to an alien army in their midst.

he fired the Army Chief of Staff who tried to tell Rummy that occupation would be challenging and troop-intensive.

sent in troops without adequate body armor or armored humvees.

a guy who is so abrasive that most generals who work with him find him impossible.

Rumsfeld is not only a disgrace to the American Nation, rather he is a disgrace to humanity and all that it stands for. Apparently the author fails to confront any actual news sources, instead taking tiny tidbits that the idiot Rumsfeld had accomplished (believe it or not, he was able to "assassinate a terrorist"), and blows them to epic proportions, portraying Rumsfeld as some sort of mythical god. This book is a digrace to the American Nation. If the crap this author wrote is considered "factual", than apparently the War in Iraq is going just as planned, and believe it or not, the Iraqi insurgents love us! This book is absolutely disgusting. Resign Rumsfeld, resign now.

Revolt of the Wimpy Generals Explained.......2006-05-25

Though Rowan Scarborough wrote this book a good two years before a half dozen retired generals decided to publicly reveal their lack of the necessary intestinal fortitude to bandy sharp words with a septuagenarian, his book makes the reason for their incessant whining crystal clear: as a boss, Donald Rumsfeld is a real hard-ass.

He doesn't suffer fools, he won't tolerate public disloyalty, he figures that anyone younger than he is can work his hours, and if he doesn't think you know what you are talking about, he will call you on it. Now one doesn't have to universally endorse this style of management (I doubt that I'd enjoy working for him, and he'd clearly be a disaster managing a bunch of sensitivity trainers) to realize that if it can work anywhere, it ought to work at the Pentagon. Rummy's direct reports are people whose job description involves sending people out to fight and kill and die; if they're too intimidated to defend their positions in a meeting, why should we believe them capable of defending their country on a battlefield?

To his credit if you think Rumsfeld is wrong and are willing to stick to your guns and show him where he is wrong, he'll not only back off, but he'll respect you for it. As Scarborough quotes Newt Gingrich saying, "I think that one thing that made Tommy Franks so successful was that Franks figured out in the second or third meeting that we just got to go toe-to-toe and disagree or I'll never get anywhere with this guy. And as a result they developed a very good relationship."

All in all a fascinating read. Defects? If you take away the Acknowledgements, the Index, the blank pages, and the 65 pages of blatant padding labeled Appendix, you have a total of 164 pages of fairly large type laid out in such a way that there are about 10 less lines per page than in books of comparable size. I don't remember if there were any prepublication excerpts printed in newspapers like Scarborough's Washington Times, but if they weren't careful, they could have accidentally printed the entire book in less than a week! Frankly there is more biographical material about Rumsfeld in James Mann's Rise of the Vulcans: The History of Bush's War Cabinet despite the fact that it covers five more people than this slim volume! Maybe sometime in the future, Mr. Scarborough will get around to expanding this glorified feature article into a full biography of arguably the most influential SECDEF in US history.
