I confess I bought this book with a lot of worry that I would waste both my time and money and was really surprised that I got interested so quickly. I highly recomend this book. It is a wellwritten account of what happened {I live in Oklahoma} It is really a moving book. I actually cried and it takes alot for a book to make me cry. It also made me stop and think about my relationship with god.I'ved read alot of the bombing books and this is one of the best.

This book is very wonderful and inspirational. It tells in full detail about one family's loss on that fateful day in Oklahoma City. It's great for people dealing with a loss or even for people who aren't going through a loss.

I started this book thinking it would take me a while to read it, but I read it over two days because I just could not stop reading. Kathleen Treanor's story is very personal; it's not just what you know from the news. And much of the book focuses on her healing process.

She offers hope to anyone who has suffered a tragedy, not just those affected in Oklahoma or New York.

I never realized how much the letters from school children meant to victims of a tragedy.

Kathleen talks about how one day everyone else seems to go back to a normal life, and you can't understand how they possibly could after what has happened. Yet she eventually heals, and her journey is truly inspirational.

This is a wonderful book.

On April 19, 1995, the lives of the Treanor family were forever changed by the tragic loss of their daughter and parents. The author describes through heart-breaking detail their struggle to survive and eventually triumph over this horrible chapter in their lives. As an Oklahoman, I started the book believing it would speak to all of us who experienced this terrorist act in our own neighborhood. By the time I finished, I realized this book speaks not just to Oklahoma, but to the world.

The authors give an updated view of the basics about information systems (computers and networking, if you will). This field keeps changing so fast that new texts are continually needed.

The book ranges from descriptions of one computer to that of networks of computers. What you get from it will vary, depending on your needs. The discussion on globalisation is very topical. And throughout the book are questions that help raise awareness in the student about IS issues.

Nice Overview.......2007-01-25

For a coffee table-type book of less than 200 pages, this does provide a pretty good overview of the history, structure, and operations of major organized crime groups throughout the world and also offers a wonderful photo collection. Documentation is sparse, a few common legends are recirculated, and the sidebar on the Tommygun contains some inaccuracies but it's still a much better book than I expected.

Good overview of all organized crime........2006-11-17

This book does a good job of covering all organized crime groups in the world.

The book starts out by giving a brief history of organized crime from the Blackbeard pirate days to the American Mafia. The book then goes into the illegal activities that are the bread and butter money makers for these organizations.

From there the author dedicates a chapter to every type of group covering, The American Mafia, Sicilian Mafia, Drug Cartels, Yakuza, Triads, and Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. Also listed were groups that I never heard of or did not know much about like Sacra Corona, and Camorra.

The book has very good pictures and graphics. If you want to know about any of the groups in great detail, this is not the book for you. Just a good review of all organized crime in the world, and an excellent brief history on these organizations.

When Albert Anastasia sat in the barber's chair and then gets shot by his mob opponents, it touched off decades of gang infighting. This book deals with some of those incidents and skims over others.

Dale Rosengarten spent hundreds of hours working on a marvelous exhibit. If you were fortunate enough to have seen the exhibit in Charleston, New York, Columbia or Charlotte, I know you'll agree that it was superb and this book will keep your memory fresh. If you didn't have the chance to see the exhibit and you're interested in the history of Jews in America then this is the book from an exhibit that has sparked a new era of interest by historians to rediscover southern Jewish life from the mid 18th century to the present.

Facinating History of a Dynamic Jewish Community.......2003-08-15

At important times in early American history, the largest and most important Jewish Community was in Charleston, South Carolina. Unlike many parts of the world where Jews were then treated as a dispised or distrusted minority, relegated to the fringes of community life, these Jews (like their neighbors in Georgia) were an integral and valued element in the colony form its earliest time. The were truly "a portion of the people." Here Jews blended in and prospered and Judaism flourished. The first Jew was elected to a legislature in modern times in the Revolutionary War period there. Jews fought along side their fellow citizens as colonists, in the Revolutionary War, and in the Civil War. A number of nationally prominent Jewish figures (including one of the first two Jewish Senators, the first Jew nominated to the US Supreme Court, prominent business men and cabinet officials) trace their heritage to this part of the South.
And the authors tell of the cradle of Reform Judaism in Charleston where the first prayer book and hymnal were written. The reforms that were to make Reform Judaism the largest denomination, such as services in English, an important role for women, and full integration into the community, were established there. Beth Elohim, the oldest synagogue in continuous use in America, is located here.
The authors have put together a good set of photographs of people and places and interesting text on this little known chapter of American and Jewish history.

The Best Introductory Textbook of Logic.......2000-10-13

I am surprised to be the first one to write a review about this book. However, I can see how this happened - the author himself writes in his preface to this last edition: "Publisher's samples of fifty-five logic textbooks have accumulated in my office, all introductory and in English. Quantification theory or the first-order predicate calculus is covered in one way or another in most of them. Forty years ago it was covered in none." Forty years ago W. O. Quine published his "Elementary Logic" and set some standards in Logic. I would only want to stress the fact that the good thing about this book is not only that it was the first of this kind, chronologically speaking, but that it still is the first, from a logical point of view (this is the title of another one of Quine's books). Usual readers may not realize that the standards that Quine set forty years ago are still the best that one can find in his attempt to learn Logic. I haven't read a better introductory textbook of Logic and I recommend it to anyone who really wants to understand how the Science of all Sciences (as the medieval philosophers called Logic) works.
