Okay..........2006-11-06
I first saw the anime, which I loved, via fansubs (I hope it gets licensed) so I asked my for and received the first three volumes of this series for my birthday. It's okay... but I thought that the anime was much better. This manga has gorgeous, adorable art, but aside from that it feels a bit rushed and the characterization is kind of shallow compared to the anime. This manga is cute, but the anime even pulls off cuteness more convincingly... it's hard to describe (and kind of strange sincew this manga spawned the anime). ^^;; I would recommend the anime in a heartbeat, but I just don't care for the manga version. There's much better shoujo manga out there. Two excellent titles that I recommend are Ouran High School Host Club and W Juliet. Even though it's not shoujo, I still must recommend Fullmetal Alchemist! XD
A Cute Story.......2006-08-02
Aishiteruze Baby was a manga I never expected to like, love, or even read. But I was bored one day at the local bookstore, picked this book up and started reading. I was amazed on how sucked in I was to this story.
It's about Keppei who is a highschool playboy who has just been volunteered randomly to take care of his five-year-old cousin Yuzuyu (who's mother disappeard and left yuzu alone). Strangely enough Keppei and Yuzuyu become great friends! It's a cute and touching story than spands seven volumes (but the first three are the only ones out yet).
This story is worth every penny and you'll fall in love with it!
Aishiteruze Baby.......2006-06-16
Aishiteruze Baby is a very lovely and cute manga, which I started reading the first time it came to America. It is a story of the high school boy Kippei Katakura and his 5-years-old cousin, Yuzuyu. Yuzuyu is so cute and beautiful.
I kinda wish that Kippei will fall in love with her eventually but she is way too young to be his lover. Sometimes I feel that his feelings for her go beyond fatherly or brotherly love but it seems that nothing will happen in the end.
I am watching the anime now. I don't think it has been licensed in the U.S. yet, though. The anime is so good with some additions that we didn't see in the manga.
I don't like Kokoro and I hope that Kippei will end up with Yuzuyu instead.
Give it a shot and you won't regret it.
uber cute manga.......2006-04-09
Aishiteruze Baby which basically means "I Love You Baby" in Japanese it an incredibly cute manga series. 17-year old playboy Kippei Katakura is put in charge of taking care of his 5 year old cousin Yuzuyu after her mother has disappeared. Now Kippei must learn the difficulties of raising a child instead of tending to his girlfriends. This volume depicts the changes in Kippei's life as well as Yuzuyu's. Yoki Maki is a genius for depciting the reasoning of a 5 year old. Yuzuyu thinks her mother left b/c she must hate her for not finsihing all of her bento (lunch). Yuzuyu thinks that by drawing pictures for Kippei, he will always praise her and never leave her. She tries to take crayons from a store after something happens to her old ones. She thinks that those crayons are what will help her so nobody else would hate her. Yoko Maki defiantly knows the mind of a 5 year old child.
Though this series may be mostly about Kippei taking care of Yuzuyu, it is a story of love. A story about the fatherly love Kippei shows to Yuzuyu although he's just her cousin. And a story about the love a family can have. Plus there's also a high school romance (can't have a shoujo manga without it...lol.)
The story may seem childish but it is rated T for Teen. I've read the whole manga through scanlations and there are some mature parts in later volumes. However I think a 13 year old would be able to handle these just fine. The story though is incredibly touching. Some parts will make you laugh, some cry. This series, scheduled to be released every other month is well worth it. So go ahead, give volume 1 a try and enter the world of Kippei and Yuzuyu.

Book Description
"I heard one [presidential] candidate say that what this country needed was a president for the '90s," Ronald Reagan once said. "I was set to run again. I thought he said a president in his 90s." Abraham Lincoln, in one instance, was able to put a serious injury in a humorous light; in response to a young woman's question about where a soldier was wounded, Lincoln replied, "Ma'am, the bullet that wounded him would not have wounded you." Presidents often bring a sense of humor to the White House with them, allowing the American public to catch a glimpse of their not-so-serious sides. This book examines how five of the nation's funniest chief executives-Abraham Lincoln, Calvin Coolidge, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan-used wit and humor to their advantage during their terms as president, and how their management of the Executive Branch was thereby enhanced. As a bonus, the effective use of humor by several unsuccessful presidential candidates is surveyed.

Book Description
Student Cultural Diversity provides practical advice and solutions to the many K-12 teachers who ask themselves how to address an increasingly diverse student body.
The book's unique framework explores the social, cognitive, and communicative roots of diversity, discussing how children learn to think and communicate within their home, community, and school environments. The responsive teacher theme found throughout the narrative empowers new teachers to take an active role in creating meaningful classroom situations for diverse students. A pertinent focus on the educational needs of linguistically diverse students provides crucial information for communicating in the classroom and teaching all content areas.
- In response to the nation's increased emphasis on standards and assessment as indicators of performance, the text provides new coverage of the ways linguistically and culturally diverse students can be fairly assessed.

Student cultural diversity.......2005-03-29
In Student cultural diversity: Understanding and meeting the challenge by Eugene Garcia (2002) address the issue of linguistic and cultural diversity among students in American schools. Based on a robust amount of empirical research, the author persuades his readers to adapt new learning strategies to provide English Language Learners (ELL) students with equal educational opportunities, such as understanding the students' cultural and individual development, building partnerships between home and school, and implementing appropriate teaching methods that enhance diversity. To further persuade his readers, Garcia introduces a new perspective on education called a new pedagogy, which allows for respect and integration of the students' values, beliefs, and experiences. He stresses the importance of enhancing learning through providing instruction in a context that is socio-culturally, linguistically, and cognitively meaningful to the learner (p. 19).
The author's ideas and thoughts are well articulated. He doesn't merely offers his opinions and views, but instead, he refers to the findings of many studies in the area of linguistic and cultural diversity. Although his writing style is rather complex at the beginning of the book, as the author incorporates many sociological, psychological, anthropological and cognitive studies to elucidate individual development theories and the many aspects of culture, his writing alters to a simpler form towards the middle of the book. He incorporates studies that more directly pertain to the issue of linguistic and cultural diversity, and therefore are easier to be understood.
Furthermore, the use of tables and real life experiences are most often utilized to bolster the author's effectiveness of presenting information. Characteristics of direct instruction and instructional conversation, or schooling transformation: what is and what ought to be, are presented in a table form which ensures better visual understanding. In addition, the author also includes "becoming a responsive teacher" sections, which incorporate real life experiences of students and teachers in American schools.
Information provided through this book provides immense contributions to educating linguistically and culturally diverse students. It provides educators with teaching strategies that effectively meet the educational needs of these students, such as integrating students' culture in the curriculum or mediating instruction by using the student's native language and English for instruction. Moreover, the author stresses the importance of providing linguistically and culturally diverse students with a learning environment that addresses and enhances their differences. Factors that would contribute to creating such environment include various school practices such having a vision defined by the acceptance and valuing of diversity, treatment of classroom practitioners as fellow professionals in school development decisions, and elimination of policies that apply categories to diverse students that render their educational experiences inferior or limiting for future academic learning (p. 121).
Personally, I have found this book very informative. Garcia not only presents the challenges associated with educating linguistically diverse students, but also offers an array of solutions to effectively meet the educational needs of these students. This book also confirms my beliefs about the American system of education. As the author states: "schools practice a subtractive accumulation, often identified as assimilation, aimed at replacing the old culture with the new" (p.79).

Customer Reviews:
Out of Date material.......2007-06-18
This book is out of date and is not suitable for the current PMP certification.
Maybe I am a dummy.......2007-06-12
I figured this book would be a good companion to the PMBOK, but it is a little dated (for previous exam) and there are some glaring errors and omissions in the text that made it hard to follow. I guess I was looking for lots of helpful hints, found only a few. The chapter tests are OK (one did not actually give the answers) so this gets a 3 out of 5.
Not PMBOK 3rd Ed Aligned.......2007-02-11
I bought this book last year when I started studying for the PMP. Buyer beware that this book is not based on the most recent PMBOK version and some of the information is incorrect. This book is OK for getting an idea of what the test may be like and the information covered, but it should not be used as an authoritative source of information. I even question if the the practice tests can be trusted since I have already found some of the answers to be wrong. At a minimum, get the latest PMBOK as well so you can see where there are differences.
Start With This Book.......2006-12-10
The PMP (Project Management Professional) exam, based on the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge), is by no means an easy test. Furthermore, it's importance overshadows its difficulty. What this book brings to the table is the 'For Dummies' style and treatment of the material. This style has been prepared carefully over many years and (I guess) thousands of titles.
My recommendation ...
Start with this book. Go through it twice. The first time go through it rather quickly so that you get an overall grasp of the material. Second, go through it more slowly to pick up the details that you skipped over before. Third work the practice test and other material that's on the CD.
After this, read the PMBOK.
Then get another, harder test preparation book, perhaps the Chu/Altwies/Walker book. Basically you'll have the background that you need from this book, and from the next book you get a dose of the same material but worded differently so that you'll see it from a different angle.
Don't be a Dummy - don't buy this book.......2006-09-08
I used several high qulity PM books to study for the PMP exam.
I thought this book would be helpful - especially the CD ROM for test practice
It was a complete waste of money - the information was weak and the cd was useless
Highly recommend the Heldman and Mulchay books they are the gold standard for passing this test the first time
PS - this is a serious exam - you need to know the PMBOK cold - don't waste your time on this book
