A fantasy romp.......2004-09-04

This book picks up where the first five left off. Volumes 1-5 collect the short pieces from the comic book originals. This is a new story, and the only XXXenophile book with one story end to end. It is a fantasy quest, in search of a god's missing libido. The questers find it, and it works its god-like power over them, in pairs, threesomes, and moresomes.
It pays to have a versatile attitude towards what passes between adults when reading this book. That may not matter too much, though. The cartoony couplings (and triplings, and more)are hard to take seriously, even when the participants are seriously hard. Still, it's not for people with tender sensibilities.
The good news is that this is a central chapter of a much longer story, so there are prequels and sequels to anticipate. The sad news is that Foglio has not yet given us the rest of that story. I, for one, can't wait.

For all those "What's New" fans who waited reasonably patiently all those years for "Sex and D&D" to finally get addressed, here's your answer. Wierdly Interesting.......1998-09-02
The whole book sits on a premise that it is easy to manipulate the media. Interesting paradox as you start to wonder if the whole book is a media hoax!!
Stories vary from hoaxing the European press by announcing a performance artist had gone missing to planning the downfall of society by going shopping with credit cards!!
All in all a very interesting read.

Certain that "I knew the Bible," I received a copy of this book and was stunned by how little I knew. But I learned. The clues are interesting, most are straight, some are funny, and often are worth looking up to see how the clue fits in with the verse. Mr. Kannen must have a sense of humor. I really liked it

Not Tailored for Mac Users.......2005-08-04
This book has been a bit of a disappointment since all of the screen shots and commands are from the Microsoft Windows version of Quicken. I have discovered several features and commands that are not included in the Mac software that I own. Hopefully Quicken will correct this deficiency in future editions.
Excellent Reference.......2005-02-06
This book is a must have whether you are new to Quicken or already a Quicken owner. The extra tips and new sidebars are worth reading. Quicken has so many features, you need a guide to truly get the most out of your software. Whould you know that Quicken Dexlue and Premiere come with a Household organizer and Emergency forms without the book? You don't have to read cover to cover, you can reference the sections covering the differing financial centers. I bought last year's edition and when upgrading for 2005, this was a must read. If you have Quicken or are considering purchasing, this book should be read. Maria covers all features in an easy to read format, and the screen shots are very helpful. The Dummies editions for Quicken can't compare.
Not much depth.......2005-01-29
As an "official" guide, you would think that this was a definitive source of information to help with the many esoteric challenges that Quicken presents. As powerful and mature as Quicken is, it still suffers from an enormous number of quirks, particularly as it relates to on-line connectivity with banks and brokerages. This books simply does not proceed past the basic operation of each function and does nothing to help you fix or mitigate problems with share balances or, for that matter, how to really move to paperless financial management. You either need to endure Quicken's minor irritations, find another source of information, spend money to talk with someone at Quicken, or tinker endlessly. I was looking for some in-depth help and insight. It's simply not here.

This book has information on tons of things related to World War II. It is really good for looking up random things with out having to keep changing books. The only drawback is that there is not enough information on some topics, which can be disappointing.

The real story behind left brain / right brain psychology........2000-04-03
Gazzaniga conducted some of the first research on split-brain phenomenon, from which popular culture got the whole left brain - right brain thing. If you are interested in that and think you know what it's all about, take the time to read this short explanation of how the research was conducted and what the author himself makes of it. It's really worthwhile. There are a great many misconceptions and overgeneralizations out there about left/right-brain issues. Gazzaniga debunks some of those and offers his own conclusions -- just as fascinating as the usual pop stuff, but better grounded in reality.
Gazzaniga argues that our brain is a conglomerate where several processes go on separately, and he then asks (and ventures an answer) how we manage to perceive just a single unified experience for ourselves.
