I had major trouble with a landlord. I was able to use the book to help know my rights and determine Colorado law regarding tenant rights when dealing with problem landlords. I suggest tenants read this book, so they know how to deal with renting and how to avoid problems!

Right level of detail for non-lawyers.......2003-02-05

This book showed me exactly what I needed to do in order to properly serve papers for delinquent rent. It is written at the right level for non-lawyers. It has detailed explanations for each line of each form that you have to fill out.

Plant virology is a relatively young scientific discipline that has developed rapidly in the last decades. Consequently, there appeared an urgent need to prepare a dictionary that would include precise translations of equivalents in various languages.

In the general part of this dictionary 2089 English entries are included. These entries, in addition to equivalents in the other four languages contain an interpretation of every entry in extent of 2-4 lines in the English and Russian languages.

The special part of the dictionary contains in five languages 2522 common names of the viroid, virus, mycoplasmic and rickettsial diseases of higher plants (Bryophyta, Pteridophyta and Spermophyta). The order of diseases is given according to the contemporary scientific (Latin) names of the most important host plant.

The book isn't about the Colt Armory at all. It's a rambling travelog of life and times in 19th-20th century Hartford, with almost no mention of Colt or the Armory. I returned it.

Excellent book on this extraordinary man, Samuel Colt, who gave us the ultimate revolver. A book which reads as a novel and does not just give "dry" facts. Highly recommended!

The Colt Armory.......2006-04-16

I just finished reading the Colt Armory a 232-page book by Ellsworth S. Grant.

This book features the complete manufacturing history from Samuel Colt's first attempt at starting his own firearm business under the Patent Arms Manufacturing Company in 1836 all the way through the leadership of president Ronald C. Whitaker in 1994.

This book entails quite a bit of information about how it all began when Samuel was a young man and came up with his first idea of the repeating revolver. It describes his family that was a little troubled back in that era. For example how his older brother killed a guy with a hatchet then tried to dispose of the body by stuffing it in a packing case and later tried to ship it to New Orleans.

The book paints a picture of how life was back in early Hartford, CT and how much Colt played in the economic stability and grow of the city.

It also goes through the struggling times of natural disasters (floods, hurricanes) and the battles with the manipulative and power hungry unions.

I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to gain insight of the history and survival of the Colt

This book provides a multi-level introduction to Bayesian reasoning (as opposed to "conventional statistics") and its applications to data analysis. The basic ideas of this "new" approach to the quantification of uncertainty are presented using examples from research and everyday life. Applications covered include: parametric inference; combination of results; treatment of uncertainty due to systematic errors and background; comparison of hypotheses; unfolding of experimental distributions; upper/lower bounds in frontier-type measurements. Approximate methods for routine use are derived and are shown often to coincide — under well-defined assumptions! — with "standard" methods, which can therefore be seen as special cases of the more general Bayesian methods. In dealing with uncertainty in measurements, modern metrological ideas are utilized, including the ISO classification of uncertainty into type A and type B. These are shown to fit well into the Bayesian framework.
