This book is jam packed with detailed analysis and synthesis of almost every facet of the office development process. The editor has assembled a package of 32 excellent contributions from experienced writers with backgrounds ranging from property appraisal, architecture, contracting, loan underwriting, and much more than can be listed here. When I first saw this book in the library I had to go out and get my own copy for continued reference purposes throughout my career.

It is startling to turn from the simplistic questions found on recent television game shows to this collection of truly challenging and interesting questions. Mr. Hamel has accumulated a wide variety of questions and categorized them in the most ingenious ways. Although the difficulty of the questions reduces the joy of getting them correct, the connections Hamel makes between the questions and with other bits of trivia more than compensates.

This is exactly what you'd expect. You've got a couple of letters and need an answer, they're all here. Granted, that's a bit to look through, but desperate times and all that. I found this book particularly good for crossword construction, if you're into that sort of thing.

This book, while perhaps being the most up-to-date card list when it was first published, is nowhere near as updated today. Perhaps the publishers will come out with a new book that truly is a complete (as of the time it is published) list of every card out there.

If you are like me and know NOTHING about this craze that's taken off with all children. This is the book to buy, it tells you heaps about the card game and gives you a list of all the cards, and also tells you what the rank of the cards. Such as if they are RARE, SUPER RARE, ULTRA RARE and SECRET RARE. A must have book for all YuGiOh fans.

True Yu Gi Oh TCG enthusiasts, prepare to be dissapointed........2006-08-06

I recently purchased this book under the false impression that it contained every card from the entire Yu Gi Oh series and the first season of Yu Gi Oh GX!; however, even though this book was published in 2004, it is far from "The Most Up-To-Date Card Catalog" it claimed to be. Not only did they fail to include more than 325 cards from the Yu Gi Oh! TCG (some of them may have only been used in the series itself), but also several cards from the Yu Gi Oh! GX! TCG as well (again, some are probably series exclusive), bringing the grand total to a mind- blowing 728 (more-or-less). Among the latter was what I believe to be the greatest injustice to true Yu Gi Oh! GX! TCG fans (myself included) done yet; there are currently 25 known Elemental Heroes (which are the staple of Jayden Yuki's deck), and this book only lists 6! So, in con clusion, True Yu Gi Oh! TCG enthusiasts, I leave you with this plea: don't waste your money on this insult to true Yu Gi Oh! fans everywhere; wait for an even more up-to-date issue. Hopefully they'll come out with one AFTER Yu Gi Oh! GX! ends and not make the same mistake they did with Yu Gi Oh! -releasing a "compilation on an unsuspecting fan-base NEARLY A YEAR before the series ended. Even though I'm rating this book 1 out of 5 stars, it is (in my oppinion) MUCH LESS DESERVING!

I am a HUGE fan of Yu-Gi-Oh (see my review for The YuGiOh Movie for more info) and have come to rely on Prima's strategy guides (especially this one) for many occasions. Prima's has done it again, cataloging all the cards you would ever need to build a supremely kick-ass deck and then a lot more. I actually built my deck based on the suggestions found in this catalog and have built, as I have previously mentioned, a truly kick-ass deck. In fact, the deck that I won my first tournament with was constructed from the Prima's guide. For both newcomers to the duelist realm and veterans of the craze, this is the definite catalog for you.

Authors don't understand the Yugioh Card Game..........2003-12-17

The book is a good reference for 'viewing' all cards available. If you want to simply view all cards and not go any further, this book is for you. This product seriously lacks the passion of the game. i.e Heart of the Cards.

If you're looking for a book to give a enlightened view into the current card playing landscape and how each card may affect the landscape or a particular deck class (beatdown, card control, exodia, ect) this book will make you un-happy.

The Authors of the book seriously show their ignorance of the game as a strategey guide. Prima thought they could push out another title and serously under-estimates the Yugioh card environment.

I play Yugioh with my son weekly. We laughed at this book. It gathers dust on my shelf. I would strongly suggest the 'Pojo' set of Yugioh book guides.

Could Be Better.......2003-11-03

The primary reason that I give a lower rating is that the text is not legible. For monsters, this is understandable and forgiveable. For others, it is not.

Some of the tips are useful, but many are trite. Still, that helped bring up the overall rating.

There are nine cards per page with each card having these:

+ card type
+ monster type
+ attribute
+ level
+ ATK
+ DEF
+ rarity
+ editorial comments

Add a brief set of rules, table of contents and index and that is about all there is. The other things that I expected were things that I mentioned above. I also expected a list of what constitutes the different rarity ratings. This certainly should be in this book, but was not. I will provide an estimate here:

C : Common
X : only in structure decks or starter decks
R : Rare (card name in silver foil)
SCR : Secret Rate (sparkling holographic image)
SR : Super Rare (images on foil background)
UR : Ultra Rare (card name in gold foil, image on foil background)
UTR : Ultimate Rare (embossed holographic image with foil lettering)

Regardless, it is a book that probably should be in your collection.

I think this is a great type of book for beginners at dueling.I also think it is good because it can help duelists who aren`t that good at it, they want to learn new strategies,or to beat that opponent that just keeps beating you that you can`t win against.

This book is supposed to be a master duelist's guide, but it's not very useful. For effect monsters, it usually doesn't bother listing the effect, and the pictures are too small to read the card print. If I don't have a card, and I'm unfamiliar with it, not telling me what it does or providing me with a well defined picture of the card isn't very helpful. It's got lots of typo errors, and in some instances, the wrong pictures listed for the cards. Not well proofed, and not very helpful.

Almost useless.......2007-02-04

This is not an 'a-z' of the Middle East, it is an a-z of the Arab-Israeli conflict and even in dealing with that it is biased, immature and weak reading. To give one example, in paraphrasing Nasser's life it says "the road that led to the seizure of power was a long one, marked at every stage by humiliation." This is not the way to write a short synopsis of a man's life, it is childish psuedo-scholarship and hagiography.

There is no mention in this book of noted minorities like the Bedouin or Christians or Druze. The sense of history is very weak. To give on example, the entry for Israel includes a half page diatribe about how the state is "false. Lies, rackets, speculations, fraud, string pulling, theft." In another paragraph the supposed informative entry states "the jewish state has sacrificed its chances of peace with the Palestinians and the Arab World. How can Israel fully take its place among the nations of the middle east rather than remaining a north American outpost in the region?"

Are quotes like that supposed to lead the reader to think that this is an encyclopedia of information of a propoganda pamphlet? In the section on Nasser their is no discussion of the Yemenite Civil war, where he sent tens of thousands of Egyptians to die. In the section on 'terrorism' there is an endless diatribe agains the "bush administration" and how "an honest government must admit that terrorism often highlights a legitimate grievance" and then there is no mention of Entebbe or the 1972 Olympics.

This whole read is disengenous. This is not informative or encyclopedic at all, itis desgined mostly as a primer for those who dislike Israel. Anyone looking for information, such as lists of leaders or policies or an actual history of the peoples in the region need look elsewhere.

Useful but beware.......2006-09-14

This book provides a useful source for newcomers to the field of middle eastern history and politics. The entries are well-articulated and concise. However, I would not say this volume is balanced.

Too many entries soft-pedal the truth. For example, Hamas comes off rather easy as a peaceful organization provoked into violence. Terrorism is always used with qualifying words such as "so-called" or "accusations of". The entry on Zionism ends with the accusatory words "Is this a positive outcome for the Zionist project?" Even the cover photograph showing a blurred image of the Dome of the Rock behind the sharper image of barbed wire was obviously chosen as a political statement.

Perhaps a later edition will bring some balance to the book.

A terrific study.......2005-06-05

Over the last few years I've read about 20 books on the middle east - roughly 15 of them on the Arab-Israeli conflict, and I still found this book hugely informative.

I don't know did the authors plan this, but the book exhbits the perfect balance of breadth, depth, and concision. Plus it's all done in a very readable style. Readers new to the region's history will find all the Arab-Israeli wars fully explained; a profile of each major country; a special section on peace conferences, oil, foreign powers who have influenced the region; religions and ethnic groupings (Kurds, Druze etc) and all of the major historical (and current) figures profiled.

In addition, they have taken the trouble to profile some lesser-know figures (Issam Sartawi, for example); and some issues that do not have a *direct* bearing on the middle east (e.g, the Nazi genocide). Each entry is at least a page in length and the book is very up-to-date: the assault on Jenin gets an entire entry, for example, and Marwan Barghouti's jail sentence is dicusssed.

This is easily the best one-volume book on the region you can get at the moment - perfect if you're a novice to the middle east, still useful if you know the details. I'm honestly surprised that I'm the first to review it here.
