Too many ideas for such a small book.......2007-05-22
Money making process is a very wide area. Author tried to mention all the ingredients that make a successfull money making formula. In doing so the book is more a list of things, then practical ideas how to accomplish them. Also I do not like how he goes very deep into psychology. Rich Dad's series are much better if you need to change your way of thinking about money.
Practical and Empowering!.......2004-10-28
Money is my friend is a wonderful "how to" guide on how to achieve financial freedom. It is built on sound principles that show you how to eliminate you financial fears and reprogram your conscious and sub conscious mind with affirmations of riches and success. One of the prerequisites that are required in order for you to achieve mega riches is to believe you are worthy of mega riches. This book shows you how to reprogram your mind to believe that you have what it takes. Highly recommend!

Great Money Management Formula.......2003-10-16
This book does a great job of explaining the reasons for commonplace hang-ups about money and offers a very workable solution. I actually struggled with being an "over saver" - and there aren't many books written for us. Laut outlines a great way to live for today (spending what you have) while also saving for the future. It's easy to read and easy to implement.
MONEY IS MY MISTRESS.......2000-05-28
I first read this book in my early twenties when I was a lost soul living on welfare (not a difficult thing to do in this town). The first word that comes to mind is PHENOMENAL.
Money Is My Friend explores the philosophical, psychological and emotional aspects of wealth. The purpose here is to eliminate Poverty Consciousness and replace it with Prosperity Consciousness. Money is a force beyond good and evil, neutral as electricity and powerful enough to rival even the forces of love and war. It is a creation of the human mind. All currency simply consists of symbolic representations of a mental construct that cannot be clearly defined. Therefore, poverty and wealth are merely states of mind which manifest themselves on the physical plane. By altering the contents of your mind you alter the contents of your bank account, so to speak. In order to do this Phil Laut takes us through exercises of self exploration and reprogramming which REALLY WORK. Also, his guidelines for managing money are unsurpassed and he devotes an entire chapter to the art of salesmanship (which should be a basic life skill for everyone). I seriously believe this book should become a standard in High School curriculum.
I am now in my late twenties and well on my way to earning a 6 figure income. This book should have been entitled The Magical Secrets of Wealth Creation.
`Money is My Friend' is indeed my best friend!.......2000-04-20
I read `Think and Grow Rich' when I was 23, and in the ensuing 25 years had read most of the how-to books on success and wealth (including Magic of Thinking Big, The Greatest Salesman in the World, Spirit of Appollo, The Richest Man in Babylon etc.). However none of them did me any good in improving my financial situation.
So when I came across this gem of a book, it was like a breath of fresh air. For once I found something that did work - for me! While the other books left me feeling guilty (I had not persisted enough, I did believe enough, I had not visualized properly etc.), Money Is My Friend did just the opposite! It explained that there could be hidden mental blocks within my subconscious that caused negative results, and not just the lack of proper application of principles. Furthermore it helped me uncover and clear some of these mental blocks.
The breakthrough came for me when I was on Chapter 4 and reading about `Parental Disapproval Syndrome'. It suddenly flashed upon me just how the tutelage of my parents and my teachers had helped me make the strong subconscious association that MONEY IS EVIL. That was the reason why I found it difficult to attract money.
The affirmations given in this book are wonderful. Within a few months of my writing my first affirmation `My income exceeds my expenses', my financial situation began to improve.
But this book is much more than about money. The ideas in the book may seem controversial at first glance, but are in fact true. Some examples just to whet your appetite: `Financial problems cannot be solved with money!' `All human wealth is created in the human mind!' `Anger is intention contaminated with the idea of helplessness' `My wealth increases daily, whether I'm working, playing or sleeping!'
Read the book before you dismiss or condemn any of the above statements. I can only end with the words of the author `Make a special note to re-read the sections that make you angry, skeptical or afraid!'
I believe you will be glad you did. After 25 years of religiously studying hundreds of books on attaining success and wealth, I think Money is My Friend stands out as the ultimate.
I still buy copies of MIMF to give to my friends.

Favorite book!.......2007-08-06
This has been my favorite book for so many years! I read the covers off this book because I read it whenever life is somewhat dreary! This is my newest copy. It always gives me butterflies in my stomach at the end!
Enchanting!!!.......2003-02-25
I read this book when I was younger and picked it up again and just fell in love with it all over again. A wonderful blend of fantasy and romance. This book definately tugs at your heart and makes you laugh out loud! Highly reccommended!
*Absolutely Magical*.......2001-05-20
This was my first Christopher Stasheff book and I thought it was fantastic. I am not going to tell you about the plot, because the other reviewers do a good job of that, but I thought that it was filled with adventure and humor. It is true that it is a story of romance, but it added that extra depth and intrigue to the book. There were some great battles of wits, and of courage, even if the monster was made of which moss. Fantastic read. I recommend it highly.
Enjoy--but use your head!.......2000-01-29
M'Lady Witch is charming, a blend of adventure, intrigue, and (of course) a healthy dose of romance. Cordelia Gallowglass, daughter of SCENT agent Rod Gallowglass, has been targeted for destruction by the enemies of democracy on her native planet of Gramayre. Now emerging into womanhood, she has always thought she would marry Prince Alain. Yet Alain seems disturbingly prissy and overbearing, and Cordelia herself is not sure whether she loves him. When he, desperate to prove himself a capable suitor, decides to take lessons in gallantry and romance from her errant brother Geoffrey, she knows she's going to have to stop the two fools before enemies none of them were aware of begin to close in... I basically liked this story. It's fun to get a glimpse of the Gallowglass children as they've grown to maturity, and I have to say that the discussion among the Gallowglasses about what is and isn't love is very important. It isn't Stasheff's best. The characterization is probably better than that of Quicksilver's Knight or (especially) the Spellbound Scholar, but suffers at times from a bit of laziness. I do think it rather silly that Alain should have to stoop to such depths to escape the onus of "arrogance" or that Cordelia should have to make a fool of herself with low-cut gowns and dalliance to catch her man. Come on! What disturbed me most was not Geoffrey's wenching, but the fact that Alain seems to have to participate in it to be considered a true "man." You don't have to stretch that far to loosen up. And is Alain ever honest with Cordelia about his dalliances? Stasheff is going to have to be careful or his characters' behavior is going to end up undermining anything truly valuable, wise, or most of all honest he has the chance to say--and if I've valued certain parts of his work, it was above all for their honesty. It's a light, pleasant read, but misses the mark by a measure in my book.
M'Lady Witch - Fantastical Sci-Fi Romance.......1999-12-30
An excellent read, if romance doesn't turn you off, though there is plenty of action and Stasheff's brand of witty dialogue present. Cordelia and Geoffrey Gallowglass share the spotlight in this one as Geoffrey tries to soften Prince Alain's character so that he will be worthy of Cordelia. It makes for a fun-filled, romantic adventure.
Book Description
Written in Q&A Format, A Gynecologist's Second Opinion answers all the questions that patients actually have but that most doctors often don't have the time or the patience to answer. It addresses women's concerns while providing the facts needed to get appropriate care. The book was written with the idea that a woman should be a partner with her doctor in her health care, and the more information and understanding she had, the better off she would be.
Presented with the stories of women who have actually had these experiences, this authoritative guide provides detailed information on fibroids, ovarian cysts, hysterectomy and the many alternatives to hysterectomy, common bladder problems, contraceptive options, endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian cancer screening tests, abnormal pap smears and cervical cancer, menstrual bleeding problems, pre-operative and post-operative instructions and concerns and more. There are diagrams to make the anatomy and possible surgical procedures clear and understandable.
Numerous treatment options and alternatives for each gynecological problem are described, as well an overview of the type of diagnostic tests required to make a definitive diagnosis. With completely up-to-date information on the latest surgical procedures, drugs, and tests, this must-have reference will find its place on every woman's bookshelf.

Most "accessible" book on female issues I've found.......2007-06-22
I've read a LOT of books on women's health - seems they are often written too casually by laypeople (with lots of anecdotes that may or may not be true). The ones written by doctors are often too long and too technical. This book bridged the gap perfectly! The Dr answered not only many questions I had, but many questions I didn't know I needed to ask. I was at first disappointed that my library system didn't carry this book -- but after I bought it from amazon.com, I was glad I had. I was surprised to find it an interesting read: definitely a keeper!
Covers various female problems, diagnosis, and treatment. .......2005-01-02
A very useful book. It discusses various gynecological problems and bladder problems, diagnosis, and treatment options. Unlike many books on the subject, this book includes newer treatment options, for example, totally laproscopic hysterectomy techniques that can preserve the cervix, and allow faster recovery. Discusses the risks of various options; even includes a few statistics.
An owner's manual for your female parts.......2004-07-09
I love this book. Its like having an owners manual for your female parts. It was easy to read and covered all the problems a woman faces with their reproductive system. I bought lots of books when facing a hysterectomy, and this book was clear and to the point without scaring me to death. It will stay on my shelf because it covers common problems like fibroids, embolization, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, common bladder problems, hysterectomy options. Its written clearly and helped me talk to my Dr.
Good information, clearly presented.......2003-09-18
I bought this book several years ago, and it remains a favorite recommendation for others. Information is presented clearly and is easily understandable. Furthermore, Dr. Parker has a website that you can visit to reinforce the information in the book and contact information if anything needs clarification.
A must have for women and ob/gyns alike!
New Edition.......2003-04-16
The second edition of this book is now available with entirely updated information about fibroids, embolization, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, new techniques for endometrial ablation, laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy and many other alternatives to hysterectomy. A new chapter about contraception and another about common bladder problems have been added to the updated information about other common problems such as abnormal pap smears, endometriosis and pelvic pain. When you order this book, be sure to ask for the new, SECOND edition. We think you will find it an invaluable resource.

Waste of money.......2007-04-04
There are many web sites with better information. Take a look on them.
if you already have photoshop training... look to better books.......2007-03-04
The book is ok for what it is. One to two pages of how to do different tecniques to your photos...but if you have any training in basic photoshop you will know most of this stuff. Changing contrast? Making a picture dark enough to look like it is at night? Using layers to import one picture into another and masking out other parts? Using the clone tool to copy from one area and cover up another area? getting rid of red eye using the 'red eye tool'? Very simplistic stuff...and I am only a novice at photoshop. They do cover a section on using raw pictures from your digital camera... I think that covers about 10 pages. For the cost you could find great books on using photography and photoshop. Although visually filled with information with big pictures and small amounts of print...it is great in that area of display...but for the money I would suggest you get "Photoshop CS2 - One On One" by Deke (it will teach you all these tecniques (and comes with a CD of the artwork so you can work with what you are learning) plus teach you how to use PhotoShop. If you want to get a good book on Photo Retouching with Photoshop... I would reccomend "Commercial Photoshop Retouching - In the Studio" by Glenn Honiball. He has been doing Phtoo Retouching for 20+ years and teaches you to use tried but true tecniques that moset every professional uses without all the bells and whistles (you can use just about any photoshop program for these) These two books are a better bang for your buck.
Fantastic Photoshop Book From O'Reilly.......2006-08-15
O'Reilly hits another ball out of the park with this solid Photoshop book. I love the layout and paper chosen with this serious and the tutorials and examples are just as good!!
Employing a slick design, great writing, and nice, tight size, this book is useful for Photoshop users of all levels who want to learn how to take their images and photographs taken and make them shine!!
If you are a photographer on the level of a newbie/amateur or a seasoned pro, I highly recommend this guide so that you can learn how to make your pictures all the better for any purpose.
Wonderful book and easy to recommend!
***** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Ok, but I expect better from O'reilly.......2005-12-28
Its often been said that there are several ways to do the same thing in photoshop. This book just gives you a few ways of doing them. My biggest complaint is that it appears noone proofed the photos. Some photo are of poor quality on 1 page and then fine on another. Another photo of showing a whitening effect shows someone with pink teeth. O'reilly is the best usually when it comes to IT books but this effort is subpar.
This is the book I've been waiting for!.......2005-12-05
At last! This is the book I've been waiting for! I've been on the hunt for a book that goes over practical photo editing with Photoshop-you know, how to alter colors, fix over/under exposure, remove distractions, etc. Most books I've come across are either designed for the Photoshop professional (meaning they leave out all the steps between A and Z), or they're too basic. This book is it-a step-by-step guide to Photoshop editing for the casual Photoshop user.
The author does an excellent job in identifying all the Photoshop tools you should be familiar with right off the bat. This introductory material is a great crash-course in Photoshop tools. This basic material forms a foundation for successfully understanding the rest of the book's material.
While there are tools and editing methods the author did not identify, I felt satisfied that the most important tools were not only identified but demonstrated in action. In my own photo editing attempts, I felt like I should be using certain tools, but didn't know how. Using some very illustrative photographs, the author works his way through using the curves tool, the levels tool, masks, layers, etc. The author provides the reader with the tools s/he needs to successfully complete the most common photo editing assignments.
I would highly recommend this book for digital photographers. Huggins' book is now the favorite among my digital photography books.

Good choice of an activity/experiment book .......2007-01-12
I bought this for a 3 year old girl who needs variety and this was a good choice. I think her father was just as interested in the experiments so it will be more fun for him to actually use the book with his daughter. I saw it on the food network and it became a 'have to have'. A little pricey as books go but definitely worth it as it will be around for a lot more years. I am even going to copy it so it doesn't get wrecked with dirty hands.

Step by Step.......2002-02-17
Some of the techniques described are for outside of the darkroom, a definite plus if you're just starting out and don't have one set up. This book is like a cookbook, full of recipes for different photography techniques. Easy to read and understand and the price is right.
More than your regular photography how-to book.......2000-05-11
This book is great for a beginning photographer or a professional artist who wants to get beyond traditional photography. Some of the techniques outlined in this book, such as magazine transfers, are accessible to people without darkrooms or cameras because you use magazine pages to create images. After reading this book, I began looking at photographic materials more creatively.

This book was ok........2007-10-18
This book was ok. Worth the read and the time it took. But a ton of contributing authors. Not sure if I really like that or not, but it has some valuable lessons/reminders of the obvious. But it's easy to miss the obvious.
Joyner is the Mad Scientist.......2007-06-05
One part chemistry, one part marketing and one part humor, Mark Joyner is the mad scientist who puts it all together in a must-read handbook for selling more of absolutely anything! The book is a quick read, but that doesn't mean it isn't meaty. On the contrary, Mark doesn't write fluff, but has a way of getting right to the essence of what you need to know. Grab The Grab Formula and begin concocting your own "second glass" to dramatically increase your profits. - Joel Comm, Author of The AdSense Code: What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense
THE GREAT FORMULA.......2007-05-21
I LOVED THIS PRODUCT IT DELIVERS REAL TIPS AND A TRUE FORMULA FOR SUCCESS.
WARNING: "The Irresistible offer" and "The Great Formula"..........2007-05-18
WARNING: "The Irresistible offer" and "The Great Formula" are the same book in different words. My guess is a business move to milk more money out of the same cow by changing its name and painting it's patches on in a different pattern. Buy one, not both... your welcome ;-)
Another great book by Mark Joyner.......2007-03-23
First of all, I am a big fan of Mark Joyner so this may be a little biased. I want to point that out to everyone. Not only because his books are very informative, but because of him, I am able to improve my business and personal life hundredfold.
Second, this particular book is one of my favorites. I just finished reading it and I have to say: WOOW!!! I read this book with a notebook next to it. There is so much meat in there that you have to write it down. I especially like the marketing gurus' input in the second part of the book. These guys gave me some great ideas, especially Rich Schefren and Tellman Knudson.
I suggest you buy, read it, take notes, re-read it, and highlight it. It's that good.
And third, if you want to know more about Mark Joyner, you don't have to look far. You can look him up through my profile, click on the following link Simpleology: The Simple Science of Getting What You Want or do a simple search on the internet. That's it.
Ohh, as I write this, Mark has another great book coming out. I can't wait. Here's that link again Simpleology: The Simple Science of Getting What You Want
Book Description
Profit from a powerful, proven investment strategy
The Little Book That Makes You Rich is the latest book in the popular "Little Book, Big Profits" series. Written by Louis Navellier -- one of the most well-respected and successful growth investors of our day -- this book offers a fundamental understanding of how to get rich using the best in growth investing strategies. Navellier has made a living by picking top, actively traded stocks and capturing unparalleled profits from them in the process. Now, with The Little Book That Makes You Rich, he shows you how to find stocks that are poised for rapid price increases, regardless of overall stock market direction. Navellier also offers the statistical and quantitative measures needed to measure risk and reward along the path to profitable growth stock investing. Filled with in-depth insights and practical advice, The Little Book That Makes You Rich gives individual investors specific tools for selecting stocks based on the factors that years of research have proven to lead to growth stock profits. These factors include analysts' moves, profit margins expansion, and rapid sales growth. In addition to offering you tips for not paying too much for growth, the author also addresses essential issues that every growth investor must be aware of, including which signs will tell you when it's time to get rid of a stock and how to monitor a portfolio in order to maintain its overall quality. Accessible and engaging, The Little Book That Makes You Rich outlines an effective approach to building true wealth in today's markets.
Louis Navellier (Reno, NV) has one of the most exceptional long-term track records of any financial newsletter editor in America. As a financial analyst and editor of investment newsletters since 1980, Navellier's recommendations (published in Emerging Growth) have gained over 4,806 percent in the last 22 years, as confirmed by a leading independent newsletter rating service, The Hulbert Financial Digest. Emerging Growth is one of Navellier's four services, which also includes his Blue Chip Growth service for large-cap stock investors, his Quantum Growth service for active traders seeking shorter-term gains, and his Global Growth service for active traders focused on high growth global stocks.
Customer Reviews:
Good for Beginners, .......2007-10-20
This small and easy to read book provides a good introduction to the fundamentals of growth investing. However, the experienced investor will find little inspiration in reading that stock valuation is based on earnings and sales growth as well as other Finance 101 parameters such as betas and alphas. The book doesn't go into much detail on how the 8 parameters for growth investing fit together so you can calculate your own valuation score and tweak it for your own needs.
To find a stock's valuation score, you'll have to go to the book's companion Web Site where you'll find a carefully crafted set of pages that feel like they were designed by a marketing consultant. The stock database is interesting but of limited value to an investor. The registration process is done in two steps: first you sign up and get a generic account that doesn't let you save a portfolio, then two days later you get an email that allows you to create your own username which can then be used to save a list of stock picks. Why is this necessary? This feels like it's part of a marketing campaign that aims at increasing your hunger for more. Once you get to the database, you'll notice that many A rated stocks are overvalued and at the peak of their hype cycle. Blindly building a portfolio of A rated stocks seems like a good way to loose your money.
In the end the book leaves you with a hunger for more. How do ratings evolve over time? How do you weight the 8 fundamental indicators? What is the "Quantitave Grade" that mysteriously appears in the stock database but never gets explained in the book or on the site? It's hard to believe that all of these open ended questions are not part of a more elaborate strategy: Give the reader a taste of Navellier investing and then let them eat the full meal by buying into his funds.
A Quick Read for Quick Money.......2007-10-19
As a new investor I found Mr. Navellier's "Little Book" very helpful. His PortfolioGrader Pro system comes off as easy to use, very smart and just the tool I need to succeed in this ever-changing market. I've only just begun to check it out on-line, but so far I'm very impressed. How excellent for Mr. Navellier and his subscribers that the market appears to have made a great shift into growth stocks, which he strongly endorses. I really can't wait to turn this quick-read into some quick-money and am glad that there's a book out there to show me how.
Great book!.......2007-10-18
Great Book! I cannot believe his secret stock database is available to the public! Navellier's performance quotes are from The Hulbert Financial Digest, which is an independent service that rates Navellier's newsletter. Apparently, Navellier also has no-load mutual fund called Fundamental A (NFMAX) that is in the Top 1% and up well over 34% YTD! There is no Morningstar rating yet, it is apparently too new. The book talks about A-rated stocks a lot. Obviously, these stocks have great performance! His Blue Chip Growth letter is also having an incredible year. This book is a must read for all serious investors.
Growth vs Value.......2007-10-18
Most people I know (including myself) spend more time assembling their Fantasy Team than finding good ways to invest their money. Putting their money on hands of professionals that unfortunately haven't been able to produce better results than the 8 ball has been the choice of many but the results haven't been acceptable.
I have always found myself to be more a Value Investor fan but for those who like faster rewards investing in Growth stocks can be a better alternative, people should invest in a style that fits their personality. I have seen tons of studies that suggest that Value is better, while as many that say that Growth is the thing, so my conclusion is that both are good, you can do well if you stick to one style, but stick to it because people get killed in the switches.
Navellier will provide you good foundation in Growth investing in a friendly style with no pompous words and must add that he is very good at explaining concepts that might be terribly complex for many like alpha, beta, standard deviation and accounting terms. An incredible plus is that he will give you free access to his website in which you can rank stocks in diverse categories.
This book can be well complemented with "How to Make Money in Stocks" from William O'Neill
Marketing Hype.......2007-10-16
In 1999 I invested $225,000 in a Navellier Private Investment account at the advice of my broker. Following the same advice descibed in the little book, 18 months later my investment had shrunk to $108,000, my broker made $10,000 in commissions and I cashed out. As described, Navellier trades frequently. I have continued to follow Mr. Navellier and check his stock grades on his website. His marketing and book only lists the winners. After reading the book I noticed he does not mention his sudden changes in strategy like when he moved to a GARP (Growth At A Reasonable Price) strategy in 2001 because of the failure of his previous investment strategy, see actual results above. Looking on Morningstar, his funds are rated only two or three stars, yet he touts beating S&P 500 4 to 1. Navellier is great at marketing. Follow the advice in this "Little Book that" and it will make you poorer...and wiser.

Customer Reviews:
Simple and Effective.......2005-11-07
`I'm impressed by the way that this book forces you to really explore what you want and why. You feel the author is your partner as you progress through the book and you get a real sense of his support along the way. As someone who often reads this type of book straight through, i.e. without stopping to complete any exercises, some of the questions really made you stop and think. This book is described as' a simple and effective formula for success' and I couldn't agree more. `

Book Description
This is the first book on the best-known of the Weill-Brecht collaborations to explore the extent and significance of the composer’s contribution. After a detailed reconstruction of the work’s genesis and continued revision over three decades, Stephen Hinton examines the spin-offs on which Weill and Brecht participated: the instrumental suite, the film, the law suit, the novel, and the musical and textual revisions of songs. In a survey of the stage history, Hinton pays particular attention to pioneering productions in Germany and Great Britain. Kim Kowalke provides an exhaustive account of the history of The Threepenny Opera in America, Geoffrey Abbott addresses questions concerning authentic performance practice, and David Drew analyses large-scale motivic relationships in the music. Among the earliest writings on the work reprinted here, those by Theodor W. Adorno, Ernst Bloch and Walter Benjamin appear for the first time in English translation. The book contains numerous illustrations, a discography, and music examples.

Book Description
As I walked into the building (the Childrens Memorial at Yad Vashem) the tape relayed a girls name, adding: Nine years old, from Berlin. I stood rooted to the spot. All I could hear was my own voice echoing back down the long, long years:
My name is Susi. I am nine years old. I am from Berlin.
I lifted my eyes to the sky of the dome and gazed on the myriad of twinkling lights that made up the memorial.
I had been spared. But some became stars.
But Some Became Stars is a moving memoir by a truly remarkable women. From her life in Germany before the war to her abundant achievements since, Bradfield supplies us with pertinent anecdotes while suffusing us with a strong, and sometimes bitter dose of history.
Through Bradfield, we come to know not only the characters who have made up her world, but we begin to identify with and understand the stories of the million plus children whose lives were taken in the Holocaust.

But some became Stars.......2000-02-23
Beautiful book of snapshots of Susi Bradfield's life, arriving in the UK on the Kindertransport, all the joys and sorrows leading up to the present day, where she is still more than evidently surrounded by her loving family. A must read!
