I'm keeping this book!!.......2006-07-21
this book teaches you the foundational truths with regards to finances. It's doesn't water the Bible down, nor does it make financial provision an impossible thing, but the authors chart your through and in the end you're left with principles that are rooted in the Word of God and relevant to our lives. I was thoroughly encouraged by the book. This book is not a happy-go-lucky, nauseating, comb-over of how to deal with finances, but there is meat in this book. This meat will cause you to read and re-read this book. This is a book that I'll keep for years to come
A Massive Resource!.......2005-12-04
Will the word "fantastic" suffice as a review? Probably not, but it certainly describes this huge resource produced by pastor and leadership guru Frank Damazio. In this day and age of rampant materialism and self-serving doctrines that present God the Father as some divine sugar-daddy, Releasing Financial Provision is a welcomed relief.
The book is divided into seven "keys" for opening the heavens and obtaining the favor of God in your personal and business life. Each key is expounded upon by 20 or so biblical principles concerning finances. Really, it reads like a daily devotional: Each principle includes specific verses of scripture and a short teaching on the subject that is always practical and often pleasantly insightful. In addition to the 98 or so principles expounded upon throughout the book, there are at least 100 pages of scripture references on anything and everything financial and an excellent bibliography of printed and electronic financial resources.
This book is a must-have for anyone who's serious about understanding and applying a Biblical approach to finances.

This has to be one of the worst casebooks I have ever read. The biggest complaint I have is that, for some reason, the author feels compelled to reveal the entire legislative history for every statute or immigration guideline. So if you are studying INA 237(x)(x)(x) you will not only get the very recent changes that led up to the statute, but the last 30 years of history. For true scholars of the law who have nothing better to do with their lives than read irrelevant legislative history I am sure this will please them. For actual law students who think succinctness is a virtue, stay away. Another minor problem is that the author has failed to label his notes. Labeling notes is a very common practice and is very helpful in summarizing what the note is about without having to first read it. Of course, I find the very subject of immigration law to be about as boring a class in law school as I have ever taken so maybe this casebook is just making the best out of a bad situation.

Biomedical Engineering Technology aims to educate future professionals that will work with medical equipment ensuring their correct calibration and safety.
This book is an excellent introduction to this profession at the same time that provides a good overview of the basic measurement principles and techniques. The book covers important issues such as safety, transducers and the analysis of the main pieces of medical equipment.
However, the book does not go in-depth into the details of the medical instrumentation. Some of the topics analyzed in the book, such as oscillators, power amplifiers, etc.,, can be found in any general electronics book and their space could be better used by more detailed explanations focused on medical equipment.
Nevertheless, Aston's book is a good introduction to the field.

Section on regulation very disappointing.......2001-05-23
I bought this book because I recently joined the in-house legal department of a telecom company and wanted to know more about telecom regulation. I saw the book in a bookstore and, seeing that it had about 150 pages on regulation, ordered it through amazon later. Big mistake. The regulation section is a series of almost completely random articles on the subject of regulation - whatever they could get a contributor to write about, I guess. I wanted a structured intro into US telecom regulation. While there is some coverage it is not presented as a guide and there is a lot of utterly useless stuff - for an example, a discussion of the Gambian experience in deregulation (I wish I was making this up..). I had planned to read the rest of the book for general industry reference, but assuming it is of similar quality, it is hard for me to work up the energy to do so.
