Office spells is a HOOT- fundie Wiccans, chill out!.......2002-11-15
I love office spells!
It is clever, hilarious and full of actually very useful and fun spells....that WORK!
I noticed another reviewer, a fellow Wiccan (yes, I am- really) is bent out of shape by this- sounds pretty puritanical to me! To me, magic is fun and free- like this excellent book- worried about what others think? Avoid ALL magic then!
I highly recommend this book!...

Helped me alot.......1999-12-19
This book helped me a lot at work and let me let off some stress I recomend it to everyone that has office stress.
Horribly detrimental to real witches.......1999-11-01
Nothing wrong with the writing of this book, just the content. I don't know if Sophia is a real witch or not. It would hard for me to imagine her as one after reading this book. It's fluff. Offensive, unethical fluff. Worse yet, Christians in my community are holding this book against real witches and Wiccans as a perfect example of how we are "casting evil spells" on them. This book is a huge set back for those who follow the Goddess. I would never ever cast a spell for someone else without asking permission first, and only then if it were for healing or very positive purposes. To leave a book on your desk to make your co-workers nervous would be unethical for most witches and just serves to reinforce faulty, scary ideas about witchcraft. Witchcraft is not about revenge or hokey Hollywood powers but about getting in touch with Deity through nature. If this author really is a witch, then she has sold out her sisters' cause, in my opinion, for commercial gain. I find that heinous.
Book Description
Important lessons and key investment strategies for trading stocks, options, and futures
Sniper Trading helps readers fine-tune their trading to the point where they know exactly where the market will go and when it will get there. With thirty years of experience, George Angell shows readers how to trade successfully on a consistent and informed basis. Sniper Trading is a complete guide to trading everything from stocks and options to futures. Readers will discover how to price trading, identify buy and sell zones, place spread or seasonal trades, and, most importantly, how to win at trading by overcoming common pitfalls and mastering common learning curves. Angell offers the individual trader the inside track on his most successful investment strategies, so they can profit like the professionals.
Customer Reviews:
a reader .......2007-08-29
I have read and studied many trading methods over 10 years. I am curious about this author so bought a few books from him to read. It's a waste of time and money. Totally agree with those who voted 1 star for this author. Trading today is not so easy and too general as this author described in his books. So, newcomers be aware!
Helpful book.......2006-04-25
I find the book enlightening. It can be a bit repetitive, and some of the information is not that well organized. However, the content is there. Some of the pages have very concentrated content, you have to read them several times because there are so many concepts presented. Apparently the pay-by-mail LSS system he sold was marketed somewhat dishonestly, but that doesn't mean he's not an excellent trader. I find this book helpful in identifying mistakes and broadening my understanding. It is worth noting the book focuses primarily on futures trading in its examples, however the concepts apply to trading in general. This book is definitely not a waist of paper as some of these reviews seem to imply. I purchased this book after reading in it in a bookstore, if you doubt its content read in it first. Just my thoughts.
Not a very good book.......2004-05-05
1. There is obviously a credibility issue with Angell getting nailed for telling half truth in marketing the LSS system in the late 90s. The book is not entirely about the LSS system though. I always take the cautious track when someone try to sell me a profitable system.
2. I agree with the other reviewers on the contents. The book is rather unorganized(in many chapters) and there is a lot of cliche repeating through the book. Yes, market wizards are better read if you want something along that line.
3. Many of the claims were not backed up with tested results. If that doesn't raise your suspicion, I can sell you the Brooklyn bridge at a pretty good price.
4. There are the momentum forumulas one reader suggested. Yes, play with them and learn anything you can before risking any real cash. I am not certain it offers more insight than other existing indicators but I keep my mind open on that one.
5. As to the simplicity of a two legged move, yes, I laughed when I first read it. However, you shouldn't take something for granted just because it is simple (Many successful traders use simple system which they have lots of insights on). The key in this matter is how well that two legged breast work in action which the book didn't offer any solid evidence.
And some of his rules are leaning towards the discretionary side which makes the system less repeatable and objective.
Top 10.......2004-04-16
This book is one of the top ten books on trading & investing that I've ever read. Mr. Angell has given the retail trader a real gift in terms of being able analyze the market based on price action (which is the final arbiter of value). If you work with the methodologies and formulas in the book, lay them out in a spreadsheet, track the market by its Oscillation in combination with increasing or decreasing Momentum while keeping an eye on the 5 and 1 day Strength measurements and initiating trades in the buy envelope, sell envelope or at the pivot point (long or short based on market momentum) there is a very high proability that you will learn to trade extremely well. This of course, will lead to making a substantial amount of money.
I recommend purchasing this book and the workbook, setting up your spreadsheet formulas and tracking your commodit(ies) for a period of a month via paper trading while you figure it out - You MUST keep good records and track the information in a spreadsheet so that you can create a good historical understanding of the market's price action in relation to the differnt value measurements. (I'm using it with the E-Minis, but I'm sure it will work for any commodity).
Note: (It took me a total of about 6 months of sitting in front of my screens and analyzing the market movement to put it all together-so, there is a learning curve, but believe me, it was worth it).
Good Trading and Good Luck!
Very, very poor book.......2003-12-03
This book is unfocused, and what little information there is only describes a simple "two-leg" trading system. The author claims that this system is proven by historical data, but doesn't give this data. A publisher like Wiley should be ashamed to put out such trash by an author who has been sanctioned for scamming investors in the past. For the cliche (but true) trading advice given in the book, you'd be better of just re-reading Market Wizards.

Customer Reviews:
For the megacities of the world- Tall Building Checklist!.......2000-08-03
for investors, managers, and inspectors of tall buildings, this is an exceptionally useful book. Mr. Graighead combines his Australian roots and his California experience in a clear guide to fire safety and security management of these "vertical villages." I have quoted from this work in forums around the world, and have made this book a special present for colleagues in the fire service and architecture and "authorities having jurisdiction." It is a how- to and why guide to active systems. I recommend it highly. And, given that so many skyscrapers are now being built in Asia and in Latin America, I hope this is translated into Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese. - Richard A. Book Description
The objective of the Springer Handbook of Enzymes is to provide in concise form data on enzymes sufficiently well characterized. Data sheets are arranged in their EC-Number sequence. Each volume comprises one enzyme class, sometimes the enzyme classes have to be divided into several volumes. Considerable progress has been made in enzymology since the publication of the first edition (published as "Enzyme Handbook"): many enzymes are newly classified or reclassified. In the 2nd edition each entry is correlated with references and one or more source organisms. New datafields are created: "application" and "engineering" (for the properties of enzymes where the sequence has been changed). Altogether the amount of data has doubled so that the 2nd edition will consist of approx. 30 volumes. This collection is an indispensable source of information for researchers in biochemistry, biotechnology, organic and analytical chemistry, and food sciences.

The Geography of Urban Transportation, Third Edition
ASIN: 1572308486 |
Book Description
This comprehensive text provides an authoritative introduction to transportation geography. With a primary focus on the United States, the volume also examines problems and trends in Europe and other parts of the developed world. Students gain a solid grasp of the history, definitions, and core concepts of the field, as well as models for analyzing transportation networks and flows between regions. Environmental, economic, and social issues in transportation planning and policy are addressed, and the uses of geographic information systems in transport (GIS-T) are discussed in detail. Written in a clear, straightforward style, the volume emphasizes real-world applications of the concepts discussed and identifies promising directions for future research. No advanced mathematical knowledge on the part of the reader is assumed.
Book Description
This digital document is a journal article from Journal of Transport Geography, published by Elsevier in 2006. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Media Library immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser.
Description:
A majority of statistical methods used in the analysis of land use and transportation systems implicitly carry the assumption that relationships are constant across locations or individuals, thus ignoring contextual variation due to geographical or socio-economic heterogeneity. In some cases, where the assumption of constant relationships is questionable, market segmentation procedures are used to study varying relationships. More recently, methodological developments, and a greater awareness of the importance of geography, have led to increasingly sophisticated ways to explore varying relationships in land use and transportation modeling. The objective of this paper is to propose a simple probit model to explore contextual variability in continuous-space. Some conceptual and technical issues are discussed, and an example is presented that reanalyzes land use change using data from California's BART system. The results of the example suggest that considerable parametric variation exists across geographical space, and thus underlines the relevance of contextual effects.

Book Description
C. P. Snow once remarked that not knowing the second law of thermodynamics is like never having read Shakespeare. Yet, while many people grasp the first law of energy, "Energy can neither be created nor destroyed," few recognize the second, "Entropy can only increase." What is entropy anyway, and why must it increase? Whether we want to know how a device as simple as a refrigerator works or understand the fate of the universe, we must start with the concepts of energy and entropy. In The Refrigerator and the Universe, Martin and Inge Goldstein explain the laws of thermodynamics for science buffs and neophytes alike. They begin with a lively presentation of the historical development of thermodynamics. The authors then show how the laws follow from the atomic theory of matter and give examples of their applicability to such diverse phenomena as the radiation of light from hot bodies, the formation of diamonds from graphite, how the blood carries oxygen, and the history of the earth. The laws of energy, the Goldsteins conclude, have something to say about everything, even if they do not tell us everything about anything.

The real explanation of the I and II law of thermodynamics.......2006-06-16
In the U I had this rather old professor who said that we should not be discouraged by the difficulty in thermodynamics for many great men of science found it difficult too.
If I had to go back and teach those course I would start by recommending this book.. first sound principles well grasped.. anything can be done after that
Useful introduction to, or review of, thermodynamics.......2004-08-01
The book presents the three laws of thermodynamics: the first law (conservation of energy)in chapters 1-4, the second law (dispersal of energy) in chapters 5-9, and the third law (low temperature behavior) in chapter 14. Other chapters apply thermodynamics to light, chemistry, biology, geology, and cosmology. The authors present thermodynamics using both classical and statistical mechanical arguments. References are listed for further study of topics.
Although the book is intended for a general audience, the book will be interesting even to a reader who already has some familiarity with thermodynamics because the book probably treats at least a few applications with which he is unfamiliar. The book also makes a number of refreshing admissions about the limits of thermodynamics; for example, thermodynamics can't be strictly applied to living organisms (p. 297), and in general relativity, energy need not be conserved (p. 370).
The book requires a knowledge of simple algebra and logarithms; however, a tutorial on these subjects is presented in an appendix.
The laws of entropy in the most elementary terms.......1998-01-13
This book is truly a gift to thosewho desire to understand in depth the making of that which exists. The thinking and aggressive searchfor understanding behind this workhas brought the laws of entropy toits most basic level. Knowing thatthe breakup of order does not designate disorder but instead order to a higher degree, seems tobe the rudimental step in discovery. The question seems to merely be what phase of order is one looking at and through what psychological belief patterns is one viewing the order? Martin Goldstein and Inge F. Goldstein takes one through the phases of development with simplicity and ease. Knowing that order is the framework by which visualization takes place and that disorder fragments vision until the loss ofvisual effect becomes total, surely gives one a different way by which to understand an environment and its connecting forces. Does change in its most elementary meaning then bring about disorder to an ordered system? Perhaps ordered systemscan expand connecting additional knowledge to itself or expand and break apart, all governed according to the forces feeding it. Martin and Inge have certainlybegun a cycle of reconsiderations and reevaluations of one's basic pattern of thinking.
