"A great guide to self-improvement in your business life".......2004-04-01

This book offers advise to help one stand out in almost every area of business, from seeking work, to moving up from your present position. As stated in the title, this book deals with our relationships with supervisors, customers, co-workers, suppliers, etc.. I agree with the author, however, there are probably more than 330 ways to improve. Even changing a few of our bad habits can make a world of difference. We can all improve our attitudes as well as the impression we give to others.

One small gripe about this book: The author cites examples for every situation. I would rather recieve more detail rather than examples. Mr. DuBrin must have done a great deal of research, as there are a lot of big names from business he has included. If the examples were left out this book would have only been about 150 pages.

This is a well-written, easy to read book. There is a lot of great information within its pages. I highly recommend it.

An outstanding book on investing that stands out from the crowd.......2007-05-02

I've been on a quest for the last 3 years or so to educate myself on the area of investing (I have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and develop commercial software development for a living, but prior to a few years ago, I knew almost nothing about investing and finance). Over the last three years or so, I've read some 47 books in the area of investing and finance, and this book is one of the very best of the entire lot; it really stands out. Prof. Branch's book covers numerous topics that none of these other books cover, such as the nuts and bolts of bidding, the practical use of options and margin accounts, etc. It has a lot of extremely practical information that for some reason is not even mentioned or discussed in other books. It's really an outstanding book, and now I'm hoping that now I can put the knowledge I gained from the book to good use. [...]good this book is and how much it stood out from the other investing books I've read.

Although Edith Meiser was the most prolific author of Holmes radio pastiches, the team of Dennis Green and Anthony Boucher was the best. This collection contains one original Conan Doyle story ("The Speckled Band"), one story from Holmes' retirement days as a beekeeper ("The Living Doll"), and one from the time while he was in hiding after the fight at Reichenbach Falls ("Murder Beyond the Mountains"). Nigel Bruce and Basil Rathbone star as Holmes and Watson, but the final tale in the collection ("The Stuttering Ghost") is the first broadcast starring Tom Conway as Holmes. When Rathbone left the series at the end of the 1945 season, Tom Conway stepped into the breach, and the Green-Boucher team wrote the series for one more season. Conway does a creditable job as Holmes, but after Rathbone's departure, they gave Nigel Bruce top billing.

Fun, but with a lot of small errors.......2004-10-04

This is an enjoyable book, with a lot of interesting information. It also has many small scientific errors that a professional scientist would never make - almost every page has some small error of wording or description. I'm just a layman, so I don't know what a professional would find. There is enough new and interesting material to far outweigh the errors, but you should not assume that everything you find here is repeatable as truth.

A Facinating Book!.......2000-10-26

I found this book to be quite facinating, and very well written. It should be a must read for anyone interested in the subject of science and weather. This book covers all sorts of anomalies of weather and nature from 'frogs rains' to tornadoes, thunderstorms and sun spots! All sorts of interesting bits of information are compiled here, that make it a page-turning read from start to finish. There is great information about comets and stars and all sorts of oddities of the heavens as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The information is conveyed intelligently, but with an undercoat of wit and humor. You will really enjoy this one!

I love it. I received only a few days ago and I already finished it. I must read it again and again. It is well written in an easy style accessible to all and nicely illustrated. The contents seem to be more science fiction thatn science facts, they are so incredible. I love it as I already wrote and you willl too. Don't wait, buy it now.
