This year Current Legal Problems returns to a more conventional format, after the thematic issues of the last two years. The volume contains edited texts of lectures in the annual series, as well as four papers (those by Austin, Freeman, Rideout and Sarooshi) presented as part of the Facultys work in progress seminars. The first three of these papers, as also the chapter by Justice Santow (a Judicial Visitor to the Faculty) confront the implications of the new Human Rights Act. This is one clear theme to emerge in this years volume. Another is the place of ethics. Contributions explore among other topics the teaching of ethics within legal education; the ethics of lawyer-client relations with the eclipse of legal aid and the emergence of conditional fee arrangements; the role of virtue ethics; the ethics of international law; the issue of equality between husbands and wives; the virtues of reason-giving. Current Legal Problems has long ceased to insist that contributors take the title of the publication literally. But this years volume certainly has its finger of the pulse of the current---and perhaps most importantly the future.

The contributions in this publication are an outcome of growing concerns around the world about the prevailing inefficiencies in agriculture and agribusiness and the need to improve productivity, profitability, and financial sustainability of agriculture and agribusiness by privatizing state- owned enterprises and eliminating unnecessary government regulations.
It is in this context that an international symposium was organized on April 19-30, 1993, to address these policy concerns and thereby to improve the long-term prospects for productive and financially sustainable agriculture and agribusiness development.
The policy issues addressed herein were identified in a series of discussions at IFDC and with the authors. The main objectives were to focus on analytical policy issues that accelerate the process of privatization and market deregulation of publicly owned and operated enterprises and to provide necessary operational guidelines for policy reforms. This publication is structured around four main topics: (1) the role of agribusiness in economic development; (2) possible approaches and guidelines for privatization and deregulation of agribusiness; (3)the necessary enabling policy environment for privatization and deregulation; and (4) selected case studies. The views expressed in this publication belong solely to the respective authors and should not be attributed to IFDC, World Bank, or other organizations represented. Readers should keep in mind that when authors refer to `current' or `present' situations, they generally mean 1992/93 unless otherwise specified.

Good introduction - concise, practical and conceptual.......2006-06-06

Most introductory hydrogeology textbooks are massive books full of difficult math. The concepts behind the math can be easily lost. This book focuses on conceptual issues rather than mathematical modelling. At only 248 pages, it makes an excellent adjunct for students working off more difficult texts. It is also useful for beginning consultants as it covers such oft-neglected topics as report-writing and publically-available data sources.

Application of theory in the field........2000-10-13

Engineering applications of hydrogeology is a new subject in our country. As a research assistant, we had some problems to show the practical use of hydrogeology, especially field hydrogeology, to our students. This book may solve many of our application problems. Although, English is a foreign language for us and our students, this book can easily be followed. Most of the mathematical formula frightens students, but as this book was kept away from them, students will easily get the hydrogeological point of view.

This book is the only organic and organized review of plasmas involving particle formation. It provides you with all the basic equations needed to approach the most common phenomena in dusty plasmas. It has a place of honor on my desk and without it my life as a researcher would be much harded.

This a wonderfully concise, yet chocked full of information books on the stone that were left by the Picts of Scotland. Lot of graphic work showing pictish symbols and knots, photographs(black & white), and maps, this gives anyone wishing to study these stone the perfect guide to their location and all information concerning that find.
