I have read the book 4-5 years ago, and it sounded like science fiction to me, far future, but it did made lot of sense. I have also put my own money where my mouth is. I made my software development team 'Virtual'. Currently we have several people work on 2 continents, from own homes and doing a great job. Thanks to this book that gave me the great insights in change in emplyment and production patterns.

Avoid this book. It is a 'virtual waste' of time........1998-04-20

This book does not deliver any new insights or even clever examples of new business structures. I believe this book was written only for the intention of writing a book, and not to educate the reader. I even remember Andy Grove of Intel scoffing at the title when the book was publshed.

Still the standard.......1997-06-16

I have read this book 3 or 4 years ago the first time (in its German translation). There is still (June 1997) no better book for the strategies an philosophies of Virtual Corporations. It belongs to the 5 best and most often used business books I own

When I started my postdoctoral work at Stanford University I wanted and needed to learn more about cell cycle. This book helped me to understand the regulation of the different cell cycle phases. The chapters on mitosis, retinoblastoma and E2F are very clear and complete!

My dad wrote this book........2000-05-15

...and it's dedicated to me, so I kind of had to read it. Still, I'm glad I did. It was more interesting than I expected, discussing the evolution of settlers to being "native" to North America and the Antipodes. About a chapter into it, I stopped reading out of fillial duty, and kept going because I was interested. (How could I resist the events on-board the H.M.S. Bounty being described as "a crisis in labor relations"?)

Now, I'm going to have to read his other books. So, in my unbiased opinion, buy lots of copies so that I can go to grad school.
