Very funny! This book will have you rolling in no time. Karen has a very interesting way of looking at feminine hygiene products. I never would have even thought of some of these things....very creative! This book is a very funny read. It has a great new way of looking at feminine hygiene products. This book is...F U N. I like the pictures of alternate uses which are a stich. This is a great book to have at your home for people to read while using the bathroom, cause let's face it that's where these products belong. The Author seems to touch on so many funny uses that it actually keeps you reading. I did not set the book down until I had read it cover to cover. It is easy reading, something the whole family can enjoy. Would love to see more from this Author. AAAAAAA++++++++

It gives us a cross section of the views of the great ( some not so great ) artists as to how they see the piano, pianist(s) and piano music.

So Gilels never quite recognised Neuhaus as his teacher; Bolet had high esteem for Moiseiwitsch other than Rachmaninoff; Arrau was an admirer of Edwin Fischer; Kocsis upholding Richter while despising ( and he is not alone) Horowitz for he made use of music and composers instead of serving them, he also refers us to the music of Bartok; Pogorelich telling us the fixing of the piano competitions result; Ashkenazy touching on the Russian artists' soft spot and a lot more... Amusing as well as instructive. Almost a must for all serious pianist.

This is a very good and interesting book for all pianists and lovers of piano music. Although all the interviews are by the author are polite and hardly provocative, each of the (very different!) personalities provide both entertaining comments and valuable insight.

Highly usefull.......2007-03-19

I have 14 years of part time 3rd party ACAD apps. It gets the out of the box program configured for use, teaches you basics. The LDD help is not very good for this (i.e I spent 5 hours going down dead ends, looking for menus not loaded etc). The book guides you through set up and creating lines, lots, surfaces, alignments and grading, tied into surveying. It is not a civil engineering text book, hence be prepared to spend a lot of time working on engineering problems to do small things in the program (yes, your bridge may end up 4 inches above the road alignemnt if you are not on your toes). I really wish LDD had engineering tools built in like terra model. Go get an ACAD class if you have the $1500(I do not work for them either), at least buy the coursware for $60 on amazon.

Harnessing AutoCad LDD.......2004-08-05

I did not care for the book. I did not feel it was written very well. It does not "read" well and is difficult to understand and follow the examples. I suppose, it is better than nothing and I keep it around as a reference only. Also, hardly and time is spent on the survey module only 1 example is given on runnning traverses.

Fully Comprehensive and an excellent reference........2001-07-08

I have more than five years using third party Acad applications for land development and I found this material systematic, well organized and easy to follow. The examples provided ( CD included) are sequential to the lectures which makes it an excellent didactic tool. On the other hand, the text does not cover the possible, or most common, types of reports that can be generated with the program in its differents applications.

If you are looking for a self-training course in LDD, the price for this book Vs. what you get out of it is worth every penny.

Harnessing Autodesk LDDT2i.......2001-05-16

The overall organization is quite good..., however, if you have been using LDD for a while and have accessed the online help to learn the program, you may find much similarity in syntax. If you are new to using LDD, then it is worth the price of the book. Keep in mind though, if you need to pick up the overall working mechanism of this LDD software and civil design in general in a rather short period of time, you best bet may be going to an authorized learning center. (No, I don't work for anyone of them.)

An Exellent Overview of a Historic Mission.......2001-05-17

In this book, the eminent historian Martin Caidin concentrates on one of the most brutal air battles in history-Schweinfurt. At a time when the B-17's flew with little or no fighter escort, and the German Luftwaffe had not yet been all but chased from the sky, the 8th Air Force launched a raid on the ball-bearing plants at Schweinfurt, Germany. The result is a story that is at once tragic and heroic. This is a well-researched book, full of first-person accounts of the battle. It reads like a good thriller and leaves the reader with a new respect and appreciation for the brave men on both sides who fought their war five miles above the earth not so many years ago. Highly recommended reading for anyone interested in the air war.

Fire By Night.......2006-07-25

I read this book hoping it would give me an insight into what it must have been like for my father who was an airgunner in Bomber Command during WW2. Whilst he completed some 49 missions and survived the war he must have shared some of the experiences written about in this book. As with most aircrew, little if anything was forthcoming from my father about what he saw during that time. It must have been as harrowing for him to live with the experience as it was for the author to pursue her quest. The latter part of the book is very moving and heartwrenching. The final outcome came as a relief after an emotional read. An excellent read.

A harrowing tale of your parent's generation, and how they lived, fought, and died to win WWII. The true story of the author's father, the sole survivor of a Pathfinder crew of seven flying a Berlin raid in a Lancaster bomber, and his experiences leading up to and following Black Thursday, December 16/17, 1943. Exquisitely researched and related, this may be the closest many of us will get to understanding the meaning of sacrifice.
