A great guide to the US.......2007-06-19

This is a great source for maps and attractions for each state. The ring binding makes it easy to turn to the needed page but the gap it creates upsets the flow. It's a high quality reference/map which I find pulling out all the time. Very useful item!

Indispensable.......2006-11-19

I am an admitted map freak. I find it almost impossible to read a book without looking up a map of where the action is taking place, if I'm unfamiliar with the area. Rand McNally maps are, generally speaking, the best US maps you'll find, rivaled only by those produced by AAA or some local authorities. As the years have gone by, R-N has included more and more information in it's road atlases so, until you're ready to step up to the expensive (but deeply rewarding) world of professional atlases, I'd consider this a must on any bookshelf.

I found one error the first time I opened the book (an incorrect page number in the index), but that's the only one I found on a 2,000 mile road trip. Served us well, was fun to use. It's certainly oversized, but we'll keep it in our car and reference it freqently. Recommended.

Well done but not as good as in the past.......2006-02-01

This is better than the lower cost Rand McNally Atlas.
What we didn't like is that in prior years, their was more coverage of sites of interest in each state. Now, there are just some suggested regional tours in the front.
The book itself is of high quality and easy to read and use.

This is a road atlas designed for use while actually in a car. The spiral-binding is a must for ease-of-use. And, Rand McNally isn't one of the biggest names in map-making for nothing. An excellent product.

This isn't your father's road atlas! This one has RADICAL streets, AWESOME rivers, and COOOOL lakes represented in TOTALLY TUBULAR drop-down 2-D! I should warn you that you may LITERALLY BURST INTO FLAMES when you note the 6 - 6!!!! - main thoroughfares out of Gettysburg, PA. That is but one moment of potential spontaneous human combustion in the Northeast. Do not look at panel A-4 on the Vermont map, WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!

The perfect size to place in your rucksack in your cross-country trek, the Rand McNally Road Atlas will give you much "G Love". By which I mean that you will be grody to the max and will blind multiple people with science. Science. The sweet science of geography.

Delightful Book.......1998-10-28

Records the pithy sayings and jokes of Dan May. The aphorisms and witticisms are worthy of Mark Twain. For example, when asked how many people work at his factory, he answers, "About half." When asked, on another occasion, how many work there broken down by sex, he says, "None broken down by sex, but some by alcohol." May was an important figure in Nashville business and government in the mid-20th Century. A very amusing yet meaningful book.

Help!!!!.......2007-01-10

I purchased this book because there is no documentation out there anywhere for Works 2005 and I thought, "This might work!" This is a helpful book but Works has changed some since the 2005 verion so in some cases not helpful at all. For those who use the new version of Works, it would probably be extremely useful. My main complaint is why isn't there anything out there to help me with works suite 2005?

This book is full of short stories by veteranns about veterans. I must recommend this book for anyone that has any affiliation to a veteran, simply the best, short stores from all wars and conflicts that will cause you to swell up with love and pride. This book was given to me by a good friend. He thought I, as a Vietnam vet, would identify with some of the stories. It is one of the absolutely most enjoyable books I have ever read. I even slowed down my usual reading speed to savor the stories . Each day, in the sunshine of my patio, I read two or three stories. Every story got my full attention. I even found one story about a man I knew in the army. I adamently recommend this book to any veteran.

A truly wonderful book with numerous short tales about veterans.
Perhaps I am prejudiced, being a retired USN radioman. These
stories will uplift your spirits tremendously. Reading of the
selfless actions of veterans throughout our nations history may
add a new dimension to your life. What impressed me besides the
shear joy of reading these stories is that each and every one
was new to me. I suggest you keep some tissues nearby, this book
will truly tug on your emotions. I've sent this book to 3 others
so far. There's a huge series of Chicken Soup books. They all seem
to be written with the same care as this one.

Focusing on contemporary readings of the Eden-myth in Genesis, the book shows that the reconstruction of Paradisal marriage raised many problems of interpretation. How can the cryptic and contradictory elements of Genesis be reconciled? Was sexuality the `True Paradise' or the destroying serpent? Since Genesis pronounces knowledge and imagination `evil', how can the interpreter arrive at the truth? Is Paradise Lost forever, or can we `force through the Fire-sword' and regain the Edenic state? These questions, perennial sources of contradiction in the Christian tradition, come to a head in the turmoil of Milton's lifetime, and they were particularly urgent for the poet himself, caught up in the problems of a failed marriage but unwilling to give up his vision of Paradisal sexuality.
