Off & on for 14 years... love it.......2005-01-07

I've found that I'm really picky about datebooks and calendars -- this one meets all of my criteria:
1. 5x7 size - I like the space because I scrawl.
2. 1 page per week - never more, never less.
3. The left side is always the picture of the week (stunning, a conversation piece).
4. The right side is always the week and Sat. & Sun. are never scrunched.

Another splendid edition.......2004-12-01

This calendar's purchase and examination is always a pleasurable event, and I have saved them for some 20 years. The 2005 edition measures up well. There appears to be a bit more emphasis on close-up photography in this year's edition, but the subjects chosen are very beautiful and some of the finest photography anywhere, I daresay. Another splendid work. Bravo!!!!

I began playing guitar in the early seventies, when the hippie generation had helped to bring folk music to the forefront of the popular music scene. The major forces behind the success of folk music at that time -- finally reaching all across America on the radio waves -- were Peter, Paul and Mary. They sang songs that they loved, and became part of our lives; these are the songs you will find in this book. The ones you remember, half-hummed snatches of tunes for every mood and moment. The book features both piano and guitar accompaniment. If I were to find fault with the book, it would be that there were still so many songs I wanted which were not included here, and that it did not have a spiral binding, and so my first copy split and finally needed to be replaced after many well-loved years. This book is the right place to start as you begin learning the best songs to know in the folk tradition.

Quantum Leap A to Z.......2000-01-29

Quantum Leap has been one of my favorites TV shows ever. Altough in Mexico it wasn't released completely, I even get cable to have the chance to see it in it's "real" format.

A to Z, is an excelent choice for those of us who really want to be in control of everything of the show. It includes everthing you need to know about every chapter. This book is "a sure thing". Trust me.

This book is the ideal book for every Quantum Leap fan, young and old, from new fans to true Leapers. As a (self-proclaimed) expert on the show, I found I still learned a thing or two from this book. Not only that, I enjoyed myself. When was the last time you enjoyed a reference book? If you only buy one book in your life, make it this one

This is a good book for learning. There are some parts in the book that are not easy to understand. When completing some of the assignments, one should have an instructor or a tutor. The book is promising for classroom students. However, for the self learner it is not a walk in the park.

Hich Cost Hand Holding.......2003-05-08

If you have never worked with WORD, have no clue how to cut and paste, and are generally clueless about fundamental editing technicques with MS products, this book might help; others will find it sophomoric in its techniques, useless in its organization, and a waste of money. Apparently, it was written for classroom student; not for active users trying to solve a particular problem. For the former, it might be ok; for the latter, its utility is at negative infinity.

Helpful Guide for Anyone Inexperienced with MSPublisher 2002.......2003-04-30

If you haven't worked on Publisher much and need to for your work or school, etc. I would definitely recommend this book. It teaches about many different features in Publisher that I didn't even know existed. However, don't spend the money if you don't use Publisher much. ...

You can learn how to design all sorts of print materials... you can even post what you have designed in Publisher on websites... I think that is one of the nicer features. The instructions in the book are very easy to understand and give you step-by-step instruction for working hands-on on your computer.

A Magazine Not a Book.......2003-01-20

The content of this book is OK, but the poor physical quality of this book makes it feel like a magazine instead of a book. The cover, the binding, the thin paper are actually less substantial than some high quality magazines. This book set a new LOW standard in this respect.

Idris (Taff) James was a driver in the Royal Army Service Corps and one of the thousands of young British soldiers taken prisoner by the Japanese in early 1942. He was ordered to become a 'medic' by his Company Commander, who must have been a very shrewd judge of character. His account of the conditions and suffering endured by his fellow prisoners and himself makes for the most extraordinary and disturbing reading. Taff suffered from dysentery, malaria, beri beri and cholera but, unlike so many, he survived. His description of the courage of his fellow captives and, regrettably, the failings of some in authority, give grounds for serious thought. If you only read one book by a POW of the Japanese, this is the one.

Excellent Book, Amazing Man.......2006-02-11

Idris Barwick was married to my dad's cousin. He was a great man...I'm sorry that I was so young when he passed away and I didn't have the opportunity to know him as an adult. I remember him telling his story to my parents, but I was young and didn't really care. I wish now that I had listened. His life and story are amazing...how he lived through all that he did. This book should be required reading! A true story of courage, strength and faith from a wonderful man I called Uncle Id.

My Dad wrote this book so I am biased........2005-12-14

This book has been a part of my life since birth and it holds a special place in my heart. My father wrote it during the late 1940s while trying to recover from a nightmare. He hoped that one day it would be published but died in 1975 without seeing that dream come true. I took up the cause and finally that day is here. In the Shadow of Death is a brilliant, shocking and deeply inspiring account of one man's struggle to survive a very dark period in British military history. We are incredibly proud of our Dad and his story. It is one that needs to be told and we hope you have an opportunity to read the book. Barristers constituted the most powerful and prosperous professional group in early modern England. In the half-century before the calling of the Long Parliament in 1640, this branch of the legal profession grew rapidly and underwent profound structural change. Wilfrid Prest systematically examines the effects of these changes on the barrister's working life, along with the changing balance between supply and demand for his services during this formative period. Patterns of professional recruitment, training, and mobility have been reconstructed from the social origins and careers of some 500 individual lawyers, and separate chapters explore the participation of barristers in the cultural, religious, and political life of Elizabethan and early Stuart England.
