The author collected many branches of modern physics abouut path integral.
It included many references for advanced reading.
Anyone wants to go into Feynman's path integral should read it.

Readable coverage of a broad range of applications........2006-12-14

The first line of chapter one reads, "The best place to find out about path integrals is in Feynman's paper." This is the paper "Space-time Approach to Non-relativistic Quantum Mechanics" (Rev. Mod. Phys. 20, p. 367 (1948)),
which is included in "Selected Papers on Quantum Electrodynamics" edited by Julian Schwinger, also reprinted by Dover. So you may want to start there first.

The current book has many short, readable chapters on various applications of path integration, each with copious references. The author's bias is toward non-QFT applications, which is fine as there are plenty of books on QFT.

This Dover reprint includes a 60 page supplement with notes, errata, and further references.

I am a LPE engineer and doing biz with LPE grown epitaxial wafers for various kinds of applications. Especially for opto-devices. In this book I hoped to get some information for GaP:N and GaP:Zn-O for green and red color LED during my developing stage. I hope to get some information in the next edition of this book about mass producing recent industrialized LPE technology and state-of the-art growth concept and technology.

Good Stories.......2006-04-22

It has taken a long time for this volume to come out and make it to mass market paperback. I have mixed feelings about this fifth collection of Chicks in Chainmail stories.

This series takes the artists' ideas of women warriors, mainly chainmail bikinis, and pokes fun at the whole concept. Or it used to. In this volume the reader is treated to a very nice selection of stories involving women warriors. They are very-well written and quite entertaining. But the humor aspect is missing. A couple of the stories are a little lighter but most lack the digs of the early collections.

If you are looking for more of the type of humor found earlier in this series, you might be disappointed. But you won't be disappointed in the quality of the writing presented here. An excellent collection of stories but I miss the humor. There were some jokes (some even repeated by more than one author) but not like there used to be. There was also a larger percentage of transgender and transvestite issues than in previous volumes. I personally did not find this as a flaw but was just surprised at some of the similarities of issues amongst the stories.

I'm forced to give this 5 stars simply because it's so good........2005-11-16

The story Mightier Than the Sword by John G. Hemry alone is worth the price of the book. As usual a great series of short stories. A BUY and KEEP book at any price.

Quite funny.......2005-10-22

I got the original "Chicks in Chainmail" in high school, and it is one of my favorite fantasy books. "Turn the other Chick" is also quite good, continuing one or two stories from the original. This is "amazon humor" with strong women, tons of puns and some sexy scenes (making some of the stories PG). I had a lot of fun with it.

Don't know why I ordered this book but am so glad I did. Once I started reading, I found it very well written, entertaining and in parts, hair-raising. It captures the zeitgeist of the crew when the eerie sound of a torpedo rushes past the hull of the boat, or the shattering thunder of an exploding depth charge shakes the sub, barely missing blowing it up in the sea as well as the urgency of mechanical problems that seriously threaten the submarine and the lives of those on board. The horror is mixed with humor and the crew is presented in such a way that you are able to relate to what they must have felt in their darkest moments of terror as well as in their great joy when victorious over enemy vessels. Also well done, the foibles and dilemmas of getting it to that landlocked bean field in Oklahoma where it finally stands as a proud memorial to the WWII battles at sea and the incredibly brave men who fought them. Do put this one on your "must read list". It's a winner!

My main fodder is nonfiction historical, both European and American, so this book is right up my alley. Entertaining and well written with lots of detail, the way I like it. Yes, I'm female and read a lot of Jane Austen romance etc., but my favorite movie is Hunt for Red October..... go figure. You'll like this book, too.

Don Keith has captured the history as well as the personalities of the crew of the Batfish. His writing style perfectly complements the events of her service during WWII and the remarkable but quirky way she wound up in Muskogee, OK. at War Memorial Park. A fun read as well as an emotional one.

Over many years, I have read ever book on the boats that I could get my hands on. Without reservation "In The Course Of Duty" is
in the top three of the best. The book takes you through some of the most daring situations that a reader will ever experience.
And, the placing the boat in an Oklahoma Bean Field gives you an insight on the guts and wisdom of Submariners past and present.
