This is very good start for learning about taxation and tax planning. The language of the book is very simple and it is very easy to read and remember. The author goes through all the important areas of taxation. The problems after each chapter are entertaining to solve.

New model for outsourcing.......2004-08-04

This book was a fascinating compilation of history with an international company (iosnet.com) as its featured case study. It offered the opposing view to recent negative media coverage of outsourcing and had a chart comparing the methods of traditional outsourcing and Laborgistics. Though it's written in textbook-style format, I was able to understand the big picture and learn about how a new way of outsourcing is potentially helping American workers, and providing jobs overseas to people who wouldn't otherwise have jobs, according to the author. I'll be interested to see if the media covers this side of the outsourcing debate.

In "Lethal Laws," author Alix Fano does an excellent job presenting the scientific argument against animal testing and how it affects us and the environment. It is an eye-opener filled with facts. This book is thoroughly footnoted, and often times let vivisectors contradict themselves. This is one of those books showing the opposition biting their own tongues. "Lethal Laws" can be a reference guide which you can refer to from time to time. Most notably, it will give you insight into the science, controversies, and politics relating to animal testing. It is a great idea to read the book several times because of the need to absorb all of the information. I highly recommend this book for activists and non-activists alike. This book will be another "Silent Spring."

In 2001, the Nobel Foundation celebrated the 100th anniversary of the first Nobel Prize, and all previous Nobel laureates were invited to attend the Nobel ceremonies in Stockholm. This gave an excellent opportunity for arranging jubilee symposia with topics that would attract several of the laureates. The chosen subject of "Condensation and Coherence in Condensed Systems" attracted sixteen Nobel laureates and another thirty-five leading scientists.

The idea was to bring scientists together from several related subdisciplines: atomic physics, quantum optics, and condensed matter physics, for cross-breeding of ideas, concepts, and experience. Subjects like phase transitions in strongly coupled systems, Bose-Einstein condensation in weakly coupled systems, macroscopic quantum phenomena, coherence in mesoscopic structures, and quantum information were intensively discussed from different points of view. Coherence phenomena in condensed systems were emphasized. A special session was devoted to the emerging field of quantum computing, with experimental and theoretical results reported for different types of qu-bits. The 2001 Nobel Prize awarded to Eric Cornell, Wolfgang Ketterle, and Carl Wieman, "for the achievement of Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute gases of alkali atoms, and for early fundamental studies of the properties of the condensates," gave an extra flavor to the theme of the Centennial Symposium.

I expected more; I exepect a "this the Sun-Tzu paragraph; this is how and why is applied to martial arts".
It has good content, and reflects the Sun Tzu work and martial arts.. in a dissasociated way. I found the book like the author says: I read the book of Sun-Tzu, lets take the subject of each of the 13 books, and let me develop it from a martial view.

This is an excellent text on military strategy and use of tactics to control people. It is over 2500 years old and is still relevant today. It is a book studied world wide by most military forces and some police agencies. As a police officer survival skills instructor I teach many of Sun Tzu's techniques and tacics for dealing with crowd control and riots. It is also serves some purpose as a practical guide for use in self-defense training. Author has done a simple and effective job translating and presenting the ideas and concepts of Sun Tzu.

Stephen F. Kaufman does an excellent job explaining the brutal and merciless strategies of war. Like any warlord, Kaufman refrains from the usage of unnecessary metaphors and allegories, and makes a deliberate attempt to explain Sun Tzu's classic as bluntly as possible. Definitely a guide for any warrior attempting to achieve and maintain an alpha male/female ranking in society.

The book is very easy to read but is missing some very important background information about Sun Tzu. This is not for the military book reader.
