Research on Professional Responsibility and Ethics in Accounting is devoted to publishing high-quality research and cases that focus on the professional responsibilities of accountants and how they deal with the ethical issues they face. The professional responsibilities of accountants are broad-based; they must serve clients and user groups whose needs, incentives, and goals may be in conflict. Further, accountants must interpret and apply codes of conduct, accounting and auditing principles, and securities regulations. Compliance with professional guidelines is judgment-based, and characteristics of the individual, the culture, and situations affect how these guidelines are interpreted and applied, as well as when they might be violated. Interactions between accountants, regulators, standard setters, and industries also have ethical components. Research into the nature of these interactions, resulting dilemmas, and how and why accountants resolve them, is the focus of this journal.

I got this book for an introductory Human Resource Management class I had to take at my university. No complaints with the book. I didnt read it all, but most of what I read was well written.

I was required to use this text book in my Human Resource Management class for my MBA requirements. I do not have an HR background so a lot of the information presented in this book is new to me. The authors do a great job of presenting the material in an easy to understand manner. There are a lot of real life examples and case studies that are interesting to read and help to put the concepts in to perspective.

This book will be a great reference in my professional life. It has employment laws, recruitment strategies, training and placement strategies to name a few. This is a must read for any HR professional and it really brings to focus the need for a stronger HR presence in companies to help them stay competitive.

This is a textbook for advanced students of Human Resource Management, but even old hands in this field can gain a new insight on different topics which are very often neglected such as career development or separation and retention. Beside the discussion on different subjects the editors are bringing in comprehensive bibliography as well as discussion questions and a modern approach by using the web for additional exercises.

An insightful and beautiful survey of life itself........1999-01-10

Although my initial interest in this book stemmed from a pursuit of amatuer paleontology, I soon discovered that Dr. Alexander had written a very general and succinct discussion of how and why bones are as they are. His presentation ranges from most interesting mechanical considerations to those of esthetics. The very well written text is supported by beautiful photography -- who would have thought that 'bones' could be so interesting?

My only regret is that I am reviewing a borrowed copy. Unfortunately, the book is out of print, and I cannot find even a used copy. I intend to contact the publisher and encourage a second printing.

Meanwhile, check you library resources. This book is well worth reading and contemplating.

The 'terror weapon' of the invasion of Poland, the assault on Scandinavia and the Blitzkrieg through western Europe, the Ju 87 Stuka had had its reputation severely dented during the Battle of Britain, where its vulnerability to fighter aircraft in hostile skies was savagely exposed. Licking their wounds, the Stukageschwader were sent south-east from their bases in France to the warmer climes of the Balkans in early 1941. In mid-1941, again frustrated at the inability of the Italians to defeat numerically inferior Allied forces, the Germans arrived in North Africa. Included in the force were Ju 87s. However, like operations on the African continent, their efforts were doomed to failure, and from mid-1942 onwards the Stuka proved to be little more than cannon fodder for Allied fighters.

This is an excellent book. The information over all is tight and well explained. The photo's are the book's real strength and the amount and the content are both very interesting. There are 12 pages of color plates at the back showing many different paint designs that the Ju-87 had in the regions. as well as some pilots. My only real complaint is that there was not enough information on the crews that flew there. But the book is still a riveting read, especially if you have not read much on the topic before.

Wonderful book.......2004-01-22

If anyone could possibly appreciate this book, it would be me. I too, am a phone sex operator just like the author of this book (except I really AM a woman and don't just pose as one).

I didn't realize this book would be written from a man's perspective when it was purchased for me, but I opened the book with an open mind. The author talks about his occupation as a male phone sex operator (well he actually played two people - a male and a shemale) I can relate to many points made in this book, yes men really say those ridiculous lines (the author made an actual list of those lines - and I can raise my hand and vouch for him). Yes, we have to be ready for every single line thrown at us. He gets into some of the redundancy we hear, the constant "yes I am always horny" lines - which made me laugh because there is no way in the world that people are horny 24 hours a day/7 days a week, yet people choose to believe it.

I think this book was heart felt and a very honest, realistic view from his perspective and a very enjoyable read. I would like to say though - one thing I didn't like was that he was very cynical about many points that I did not agree with. He laughed at these callers behind their backs (ok sometimes I do, depending on the content) but... he made a habit of doing this to even average nice callers who had off-the-wall fetishes. I think his unhappiness in his job showed as he wrote the book. He even admitted that he would write how he felt at the end of the call and actually type his comments into the book, which shows... because he uses a lot of sarcasm.

This book is not an upbeat one. He is not excited about phone sex. Most of the time he is just waiting for the call to end so he can hang up the phone. Although his view on the industry does not necessarily reflect mine, I at least admire his honesty. I am sad to hear this author has passed away, I read the introduction about his tragic death.

I recommend this book... not really sure who to recommend it to. Callers may not want to read it, because it may make them never want to call phone sex again. And fellow phone sex operators may not want to read it because it's almost a slightly depressing book. But I DO recommend it because - it is funny, it's realistic, it adds humor in the most off-the-wall topics... and simply because I never read a version of phone sex from the male's perspective.

I give it five stars.

Hey fellas, how would you feel if you knew that hot phone-sex operator you wasted $40 on last night was really a GUY? This memoir of life in the highly profitable adult entertainment industry can be funny, but overall it is very disturbing to read about all the horrible things callers make the "girls" say and do. Lots of mysogyny, horrible cursing, sadistic and pedophilic fantasies...but I guess it's better these losers pay some girl (or guy) to take their abuse over the phone than inflict it upon their loved ones or strangers. A very surreal read, not for the faint of heart.
