I am a banker by profession and also a postgraduate research student for the MSc in Internet Banking. I have read several books and articles on this subject and I would recommend, this book if you want a concise coverage in the area of Internet Banking. The book is unique in the sense that it is the only book I know which covers the use of Portal model in online banking. The book is based on the authors' analysis of 1,753 banks in the US and dicusses areas of Internet Banking which I have not seen elsewhere. For example, chapter 14 of the book discuss exclusively on reasons why a successful bank web site must be entertaining.

In addition, the book is geared towards designing customer effective online banking portals and I would recommend it to banks that are planning to enter into Internet Banking.

However, the major draw back of this book is there is no biographies! I just cannot understand how the authors could have completely forgotten this important area especially as they are all professors. Hence, a student planning to do research or expand his knowledge will be disappointed with the book. (I am!)

So unless you can get your company to buy it as a reference book for Internet Banking, I suggest you glean the Internet for similar material. However, I must inform you that you may not be able to find all that is covered in the book

Marnie Green has written a well laid out and easy to use guide for anyone who performs employee performance evaluations. As an HR professional, I am constantly looking for ways to coach the management teams on performance management. Marnie Green does an excellent job of outlining an efficient and truly 'painless' evaluation process. Doing a performance evaluation on an employee can be a real pain. I know from years of supervising employees and then from teaching the process in human resources management classes at universities for many additional years. That is why I really enjoyed finding "Painless Performance Evaluations" by Marnie E. Green. This book makes the performance evaluation process understandable and as painless as possible. In fact, after reading and studying this book, you will probably never dread doing performance evaluations again.

What I found important about this book was that performance evaluations are detailed as a central part of the whole human resources management process and not as an isolated event. By learning all of the aspects of working with employees, you can more easily deliver an accurate and helpful performance evaluation.

The book is written in a textbook format although geared to every supervisor, manager, and executive who has faced doing performance evaluations. The explanations are very clear about what to do while working with employees so an effective evaluation can be given. Exercises and case studies provide ample practice situations so the real thing won't have to cause a lot of stress. I found this book made a usually mundane topic actually quite interesting. It would be a great addition on the shelf of any professional involved in a human resource capacity in a business or corporation and would also be a great supplemental text for the college level class on human resource management.

When Voyager 2 flew by Uranus in January 1986, our knowledge of this mysterious world expanded immeasurably. New minor satellites were found, and high-quality images of the already existing ones were obtained. One satellite in particular - Miranda - surprised the astronomical world with terrain of a kind that had never been seen before, or imagined. It was time for another installment in Hunt and Moore's "Atlas of" series.

For those who own the "Atlas of Jupiter" and "Atlas of Saturn", the thinness of this book might be disappointing at first. Where the first two atlases dispense a wealth of information, theories and pictures on Jupiter and Saturn, the third one predictably cannot do so, based on the results of only one robotic encounter as compared to several.

Within these limits, the "Atlas of Uranus" gives as complete a picture as possible. It features spectacular, full-page reproductions of the images taken by Voyager 2, a technical discussion of the spacecraft itself, and a historical overview of the discovery and subsequent telescopic exploration of Uranus. I can fully recommend this book to any amateur astronomer or other interested layperson.

I am the student of one of the author. The writing style of this book just like the teaching style of my advisor, very clear and precise. The home work at the end of each chapter helps students understand the fundmentals of polymer engineering better. I am very lucky to be taught by one of the authors.

best ever UFO book.......2006-01-27

I've read a lot of UFO books, but this one was by far the best. Providing info on Ancient astronauts I have never heard before that caused me to do google searches for more info. I have read a mess load of ancient astronaut books and most just regurgitate each other. this one has a ton of original material and some on stuff that has yet to be explored further. Like the pyramid they found 75' underwater near Japan. Check out some photos on Google, there is no way this was formed naturally, and no other explanation can be given.

Michael Kurland (author) of this book happens to be my mother's first cousin. I have met the man, his efforts towards writing this book were more than outstanding. He has had an interest in ET's for many years. And this book allows him to tell each one of the stories he has ever heard + some. He has filled this book with comedy mixed up with 'real' alien encounters. It is a pleasurable read.

not as good as other Osprey Modelling books........2006-09-10

The major factor in my rating is the lack of "How-to" included. The book is full of great photos and does give ideas but assumes you know how to paint and weather and gives no recipes or photos of how to do it. If you are already a master modeler you don't need this info but than you also don't need this book either. As a contrast the Osprey modelling book about the SdKfz 251 halftrack not only has great pictures but lots of directions and photos of how to paint and weather. That is what the T-55 book lacks. You can find much better build articles on the many online AFV/armor websites.

A must have for T-55 modellers............2006-08-15

.....actually the skill exhibited in this title makes it a must have for any fan of modern Soviet armor.

There are actually three contributers to this book and each one showcases their talent in unique builds based on the T-55. Shown in the publication is a burned out Iraqi vehicle that combines both the Tamiya and Trumpeter kit, the Tamiya kit upgraded with AM kits to represent a Kladivo version, a heavily modified 1/72 scale T-55 and a hybrid tank combining the T-55 chassis with an M-36 turret as seen in the Balkans Conflict.

The hybrid build is alone worth the price of the book. Cortese adds through scratchbuilding a complete interior to the vehicle and it has to be seen to be believed. I still find it to be one of the most extraordinary examples of modeling I have ever seen.

While many find fault in the Osprey series for not having "beginner" builds, I still find that each title, including this one, has a wealth of information that can help both beginner and advanced modeller alike.
