This is the first book that really explains IFRS very well. The examples are understandable, it's comprehensive and helps on nearly every issue that might arise when dealing with IFRS.

Best publication on the subject.......2006-10-30

The Storey guides are the best and informative publications I have bought. Having bought expensive books that said the same thing as the Raising Game Birds: Storey Country Wisdom Bulletin A-93 (Garden Way Publishing's Country Wisdom Bulletins, Raising Animals Series, No a-93)
by Mavis Harper does I highly recommend this publication first and foremost. The information is easy to read, illustrations etc easy to follow. Save money as well by putting the money you would have put toward an expensive book on the subject, toward other game bird needs.
Have poultry and was interested in raising some quail and pheasant and made the mistake of buying a couple expensive books on the subject that I quickly returned. Then someone suggested Raising Game Birds: Storey Country Wisdom Bulletin A-93 (Garden Way Publishing's Country Wisdom Bulletins, Raising Animals Series, No a-93)by Mavis Harper so I bought it and was/am so impressed with the information, advise etc shared. All the information one needs.

Very thin pamphlet type book. Way too general in its information. Should be given away for free instead of having to pay for it..... Use the money you would have spent on buying this book/pamphlet and apply it to getting a good book on raising game birds.........

This is a great book, for sure the best and most comprehensive book on stochastic hydrogeology available today. It covers nearly all the fundamental and practical aspects of stochastic hydrogeology, with emphasis on both the theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline. The language is simple, with many examples and case studies. The book is a great reference for scientists who are familiar with stochastic hydrogeology as well as for students and/or practitioners who may get informed about the discipline and learn how to implement the various tools available. The book is at the same time a very good introduction to the matter and a reference book for people who are already familiar with stochastic hydrogeology and want to keep updated with the most recent developments. This is the kind of book to keep on the desk.

Applied Stochastic Hydrogeology is easily the best book of this century in its field. Its intuitive and down-to-earth style makes even the most intricate aspects of stochastic analyses readily accessible to both graduate students and active researchers. I found this book an incredible tale of the amazing situations John Simpson found ( and got ) himself in. He seems to be a tangible political history of the last 40 years.
He has a full and substancial knowledge on the big players in most of the worlds war-torn areas and explains them in laymanns terms for his readers.
Not only all that, it is an easy and enjoyable read.

An engaging and interesting account of a man at the top of international journalism.

To read his account of world events is very educative and he provides an insiders view of some of the key moments of the century.
It also interesting learning about the BBC, which seems to be a superb organization.

Required reading for all medical students.......2005-05-31

This brilliant man was a threat to all conventional pharmacologically-driven medicine in this country and I am not surprised that they shut him down. His research found the answers to many of the major systemic diseases which are bankrupting this country such as: cancer, heart disease, diabetes and multiple sclerosis and his cures are still standard in Europe and Japan where Big Pharma has less power than here. Medical students owe it to themselves to investigate his thinking before they are sucked in to the blind, uncurious, dogma-ridden, superstitious and ineffective world of conventional medicine.

RIVALS ED BARTHOLOMEW'S BEST EARP BASHING.......2007-06-23

Based on his "well-known" record, found in the charges against him in Tombstone, and later when he was a Federal Employee, the title could more aptly have been Johnny Behan: Scumbag. It's sales would also have been larger.

Is this book worth reading? Hardly, until you've read a lot of the other evaluations of Behan in books. He was a drukard, philanderer and crook by any standards. But likeable.

The "Sacrificed Sheriff" is an excellent and well documented read. It provides a wealth of factual information about John Behan, the Sheriff of Cochise County, AZ. Behan's reputation, has too long been outright lies and innuendos. The footnotes in this text indicate it is well researched and make for easy confirmation of Alexander's story, unlike the so called auto-biographies of Wyatt, Virgil and Josephine Earp. Behan is nothing less than a partiot who served his country well while the Earps were seeking personal wealth and self-agrandized fame. Good facts, poor history.......2002-04-08

I truly would like to recommend "Sacrificed Sheriff" more strongly. It provides a wealth of factual information about John Behan, the Sheriff of Cochise County, Arizona, when the city of Tombstone reached its pinnacle of fame as the site of the so-called Gunfight at the OK Corral and the surrounding events. Behan's reputation, as Bob Alexander vehemently protests, has long been assailed through innuendo and an unfairly selective use of evidence, painting him as a weak and corrupt opponent of Wyatt Earp and his brothers. In Alexander, Behan has at last found a very sympathetic biographer, perhaps a biographer too sympathetic to objectively view the historical questions involved. While Alexander repeatedly (and rightly) protests the negative assumptions and interpretations of evidence used in the past against Sheriff Behan by various writers, Alexander himself falls into the same trap, seemingly never missing an opportunity to paint Wyatt Earp in the darkest colors, repeating sketchy rumors and always promoting the most negative answer to any question.

I confess a particular personal aversion to some stylistic choices made by Alexander, most notably the lavish use of italicized words and exclamation points throughout his text. Reading this, I could not help but feel that the author is displaying an unseemly indignant petulance not at all appropriate for anyone attempting an objective history. In the end, I think that Mr. Alexander has eroded the effectiveness of his own book by such devices and through a blatant display of partisanship in his unceasing attacks upon Wyatt Earp at every opportunity (extending to creating such opportunities even where the narrative text about Behan, supposedly the focus of the book, does not logically involve Earp at all). At times, Alexander seems to confuse the opinions of earlier authors of an "anti-Earp" bent with actual evidence, citing with relish almost anything unflattering ever written about the man whom popular history has chosen, instead of Sheriff Behan, to be at the center of Tombstone's story. I believe that "Sacrificed Sheriff" would have benefited greatly from a strong editor who would have toned down Mr. Alexander's all too evident antipathy towards Wyatt Earp and kept the book's focus more clearly on its supposed central subject.

Do I encourage persons interested in the controversies surrounding Tombstone in its glory days to read Alexander's book? Yes, I do. But I caution them to read it for the facts given about John Behan's life rather than for the interpretations the author makes about Behan's opponents.
