Complex way to do a simple task........1997-10-03

The amount of detail is this book drowns out any overall message on the proper way to create operating procedures. No plant could ever actually follow all the recommendations, steps, and layers listed. (A collegue stated that his calculus text book was easier to read.) However, the mind numbing detail is basically correct and properly focused on what plant workers should have in a useful procedure. Too much clutter with peripheral issues like how to get your boss to approve your project. A big weakness is the focus on document formats and document production methods optimized for printing on paper. Process plants are moving en-mass to computerized document management and delivery systems. This book does not explain how to format documents for optimum presentation on a computer screen. Also missing is any useful discussion of management of change methodologies to keep documents current.

Stochastic differential games represent one of the most complex forms of decision making under uncertainty. In particular, interactions between strategic behaviors, dynamic evolution and stochastic elements have to be considered simultaneously. The complexity of stochastic differential games generally leads to great difficulties in the derivation of solutions. Cooperative games hold out the promise of more socially optimal and group efficient solutions to problems involving strategic actions. Despite urgent calls for national and international cooperation, the absence of formal solutions has precluded rigorous analysis of this problem. The book supplies effective tools for rigorous study of cooperative stochastic differential games. In particular, a generalized theorem for the derivation of analytically tractable "payoff distribution procedure" of subgame consistent solution is presented. Being capable of deriving analytical tractable solutions, the work is not only theoretically interesting but would enable the hitherto intractable problems in cooperative stochastic differential games to be fruitfully explored. Currently, this book is the first ever volume devoted to cooperative stochastic differential games. It aims to provide its readers an effective tool to analyze cooperative arrangements of conflict situations with uncertainty over time. Cooperative game theory has succeeded in offering many applications of game theory in operations research, management, economics, politics and other disciplines. The extension of these applications to a dynamic environment with stochastic elements should be fruitful. The book will be of interest to game theorists, mathematicians, economists, policy-makers, corporate planners and graduate students.

Larry Garza's book describe his risky and expensive experiences with Far East, Middle East and South East Asian cultures, religions and civilization.
Coming from Nigeria, I know and have seen what misguided fundamentalist Muslims have done in wrecking havoc to that country, especially, Northern Nigeria.
The stories and experiences of Mr. Garza accurately portray Islamic beliefs and the truth about Islam that needs to be known.
While in the USA, we have room for everyone because of democracy, freedom of religion, tolerance and inclusiveness.
However, our Government and peoples must exercise caution in not allowing Islamic fundamentalists a foothold or the introduction of Sharia Laws as in some Northern States of Nigeria.
Many of the Islamic leaders secretly like Western Civilization and freedoms, yet they continue to repress their people and disallow freedom of religion in their domains such as Northern Nigeria, Iran or Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Garza's personal experiences of several Eastern Religions, historical accounts from Islamic countries he visited decribe a transformed man with geniune Christian love for all peoples.
I highly recommend his book (The Destruction of the Veil of Islam) if you really want to know the facts about Islam and it's violent dispositions.

Revealing the truth about Islam.......2005-01-18

This truly is an incredible account of a human life. Larry Garza reports his life testimony, and tells of his travels across Asia. At the same time he dispels any misconceptions about the religion of Islam. He relies on the FACTS not on personal opinion, which lends this book credibility. Through this work, I have come into a greater understanding of the misunderstood religion. There is a reason why this book is called "The Destruction of the Veil of Islam". A truly fascinating and captivating book. Larry Garza is a hero of Democracy. I promise that you won't be disappointed if you invest in this masterpiece of historical Literature.

MUST READ FOR ALL WHO WANT OBJECTIVE TRUTH.......2005-01-09

This is truly one of the greatest writings of our time. This book is a combination of both thrilling accounts of the authors journeys into forbidden lands and eye opening truths about Islam,its history, foundational teachings from its founder Mohamed and its agenda in the world today. This is a must read, the most captivating book I have ever read.

A Wake-Up Call To All Nominal Chrisitans.......2005-01-07

I found the account told by Mr. Garza to be accurate and compelling. Anyone interested in learning more about Christianity as a 'practiced' belief and the desire of the Islamic world to resist the Christian ideal of democracy, will enjoy this front-line account.
It appears to me he is one of the true doers out there - pushing forward, using peace and love as his motivation.
I saw the author on the O'Reilly Factor January 4th and found his historical knowledge to be consistent with the context of his book.

I would ask anyone who wants to know about Islam to not read this book. This guy has no idea what he's talking about. I saw him on the O'reilly Factor and he made a fool of himself. I am muslim. I know about Islam. Nothing this guy said made any sense and he had all his facts wrong. Books like this are destroying America. Instead of this book, read Inside Islam

A Maverick Senator.......2002-01-15

This is a great book about a Texan who refused to compromise with big oil, big banks, and big business - the forces that shaped politics in Texas in the 50s and 60s - and was still elected to the US Senate. In the Senate he devoted his career to "putting the jam jar on the lower shelf," so that the little people could reach it. He came from populist East Texas and remained true to the Populist tradition long after it had died in the rest of the country. Dr. Cox has made use of Yarborough's personal papers and his public papers to tell the lively story of an American who had the courage to go against the grain. The book is well-written and is essential for anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of natiuon politics in the '60s.

Feuding Giants. Lasting Legacy........2002-01-14

Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, with Senator Ralph W. Yarborough riding shotgun in a limousine through the streets of Dallas on November 22, 1963 were both ordered by a secret service agent to hit the deck. History-altering shots were being fired at the motorcade into the lead car carrying President John F. Kennedy, Governor John Connally and their wives. This book was a delight to read from start to finish. For political junkies this is pure 100% oxygen. But the novice should enjoy the ride as well. In Ralph Yarborough: The People's Senator, Patrick Cox has unearthed a giant of the 1960's and breathed life into a great American. Ralph Yarborough deserves our attention and appreciation.

Bio of Texas Legend Long Overdue.......2002-01-07

My only regret about this book is that it didn't get published while Yarborough was still alive to enjoy it.
Yarborough was LBJ's peer & frequent rival but they buried the hatchet when JFK was killed and, together, created a massive record in civil rights, education and the environment. To understand the legacy of the 60's it is essential to understand Yarborough. It is doubtful that there will ever be a more thorough or more readable treatment of Yarborough's amazing roller coaster career than this one. Highly recommended.
