Must Have For All Coaches.......2006-03-10

This is a must have book for soccer coaches, especially coaches of girls soccer. I also recommend it for coaches of boys since 98% of the material translates over. The book not only details performing specific skills, tactics and team management, but also covers team and individual motivation and correction styles. This is where the book becomes a little more specific to females then males, which is a good thing because there are a lot of male coaches that coach all girl teams, and they need to understand what motivates boys doesn't work with most girls. While boys tend to be motivated by accomplishment, girls are motivated by relationships. Understanding that will be rewarding and help you bond with your players and develop them as a team.

Read this book and you will dramatically improve your coaching!

Not just for girls.......2003-03-04

After coaching, reffing, and helping to run leagues for 15+ years I am always on the lookout for ways to keep myself fresh and relevant to the kids I have the pleasure to deal with. If every coach could start with this book the world of soccer would be a funner place. This may not be the only book you ever need as you advance, but the broad range of advice, attitude, basic knowledge, and practical tips make this one a "must have". My only gripe is the title, there is some information specific to girls but so much of it is just plain good I hate to see someone miss it because the only coach or have boys.

I find this guide very useful in terms of choosing the resorts. It has good descriptions of all the resorts in terms of facilities, clients, food served and activities. The resorts are in different chapters according to the different atolls. So, it is a good guide for choosing the right resort according to one's taste

A good place to start..........2002-08-26

There are four main tour books for the Maldives, and this one is a good place to start. (Another good one is the Michelin guide.) This book gives a general overview of the islands and many of the resorts. Divers will want the Divers' Guide to the Maldives to fill out the information here.

It was a good book about an overview of Maldives but did not focus much on the interior travel within Maldives and getting around its myriad of islands

If you are planning a SCUBA diving trip to the Maldives I would recommend this book for some useful information and eye candy in preparing an amazing underwater experience. I also recommend it because the photographs have been taken since the El Nino damage to the reefs so they portray a realistic view of what you will encounter. While the reef damage is unfortunate and visible, the Maldives are still an amazing for the variety of life that you can experience; whale sharks, mantas, hammerheads, napoleon fish, etc... can all be found in various location in the Maldives. Once, in the Maldives though, I would rely on the advice of the locals and the local dive shops. These people know which sites are best under the current conditions and where the sorts of things you would like to experience are to be found at that moment. So the book is not really a necessity, more something to wet your appetite for the trip. My experience included diving with a whale shark, being surrounded by giant mantas that swam in circles around me, seeing many sharks, and a very friendly sea turtle that seemed to think my camera might be an edible treat!

I thought this book wa rather depressing, although i highly recommend you read this. Not only because it makes you think but also because it is fun and insightful.The authors and stories in this book were portrayed just right.

Consumption takes place in settings or environments which have both direct and indirect effects on its dynamic path. Direct effects of environments on activities in consuming can occur through constraints that environments impose. Environment can also have indirect effects on consumption through enduring modification of internalized constructs which enter heuristics for decisions on activities. The importance of environments to consumption is increased by the definitional dependence of status on the judgements of others. This study examines microprocessing in consumer activities for status as it interacts with structure in the environments of these activities.
The importance of environments in status activities provides the basis for a seperate, but related inquiry into observed differences in the form they take across societies. Conjecture on the consequences of differences in the structure of environments for consumption that typify a society is studied in the narrative statements by members of comparison societies and in the content of print advertising in these societies. Evolutionary processes which could establish observed differences in structure across societies are also considered in both their systematic and random components. I review models of random drift and stochastic resonance as candidate forms for generating observed structure in environments. Directions for the subsequent study of status through consumption are discussed.

Written in a dry and logical style, this informative and well researched book provides a university like thesis on a very interesting piece of corporate history. The book sticks to documented facts and fortunately avoids rash opinions and hysterical conclusions. The situation in which General Motors found themselves with the purchase of Opel just before the Nazis took power is still relevant today.

One of the most contentious and high-profile aspects of European Community competition law and policy has been the regulation of what may be described as serious antitrust violations, typically involving large and powerful corporate producers and traders operating across Europe, if not also in a wider international context. Such 'hard core' cartels characteristically engage in practices such as price fixing, bid rigging, market sharing and limiting production in order to ensure 'market stability' and maintain and increase profits. There is little doubt now in terms of competition theory and policy at both international and national levels about the damaging effect of such trading practices on public and consumer interests, and such cartels have been increasingly strongly condemned in the legal process of regulating and protecting competition. Indeed, a number of legal systems are now following the American lead in criminalizing such activity. This may therefore be seen as the 'hard end' of the enforcement of competition policy, requiring more confrontational and aggressive methods of regulation, yet also presenting considerable challenges to effective enforcement on account of the economic power, sophistication and determination of the typical participants in such cartels. The focus of this study is a critical evaluation of the way in which European-level regulation has evolved to deal with the problem of anti-competitive cartels. It traces the historical development of cartel regulation in Europe, comparing the pragmatic and empirical approach traditional in Europe with the more dogmatic and uncompromising American policy on cartels and asks whether a fully-fledged criminal proceeding (with its attendant level of legal safeguards) is the most appropriate approach to legal regulation .
