I really enjoyed this book, and it has dramatically affected the way I look at the world. That said, at times I wished it had been written better. Often I felt that it repeated itself or stated facts without explaining them or placing them in any sort of context. A good start.

After recently realising that a small, traditional boat can have many advantages over today's 'dream boat', it was a delight to discover others that share the experience. As I learn about the capabilities of my 18' gaff yawl, this book provides inspiration for fit-out, handling, rigging and, above all, the immense capabilities of a variety of well-designed small craft. This books owners tell about their experiences with 8 small boats. If you think you must buy a big boat, read this and you'll see it's not so. Just depends on your application and how squished you're willing to be on a longer passage. The different writing styles and perspectives of the various owners is a pleasure.

I work for an organization listed in the book, and we do not distribute "Free Money". We provide small business loans at a rate between a mortgage and a credit card, and I honestly feel bad for the people who contact me because they found me in this book.
If you're looking for resources for a small business, there are plenty of names you can get without spending whatever this book costs. [...]
This book must provide incomplete information, given that 90% of the inqueries I receive do not qualify due to location. As a neighborhood based group in an north-east inner city, we focus on our neighborhood and do not lend outside of city limits, let alone Tennessee.
Save your money. Please do not buy this book. It will only make you look foolish to those you tell about it.

As a successful grant writer I know how hard it is to get into the spirit of writing a good document. I'd highly suggest getting books that are more realistic like "Government Funding and You" or the "Grant Workbook". Both of these books walk you through realistic scenarios to get grants and they simply aren't hype books like this one!

Free Money to Change Your Life.......2006-11-27
This book has a tremendous amount of information on how to obtain money and it could possibly change your life. However a lot of the programs or information are state specific or in a special category, meaning not all programs are available to every state or to every individual for that matter. If you can find a program that you fit into and it works then great! Otherwise this book gives you other options about different things you can do to obtain "Free Money to Change Your Life" including possibly moving to another state or changing your profession.

I believe that if you go to the library like most everyone have said, you dont need to buy the books. The library has most of Lesko's books and DVD's. The information is pretty basic and like everyone said that it does require alot work on your part, so don't give up. I think that Lesko would or should have a program set (or maybe he does) in his company that can write grants for people that need or want to apply for grants, because if you are going for a grant you would need a professional to write it for you, simply as that. If you are single parent, poor, college student, or the elderly the programs are there. It just the poor working class that pretty much have to "pay" in order to get free monies from the program. I guess that has always been the case......And if one thing that Lesko has taught us, why buy the book, when you can check out free ( at the library)!

This book involves classic moments like when Jessica won Ms. Teen Sweet Valley, her inclusion of the Good Friends' Cult and others. Mostly it covers up Elizabeth's involvement with Sam Woodruff behind Todd Wilkins' back. One would know how important is to make a decision and how it affects other people around you.It is amusing to note when Elizabeth subbed Jessica in a tv show guesting as well as in the swimsuit competition of Ms. Teen Sweet Valley. This only goes to show the strong bond of the twins despite of their differences. For me this is an OK book... so if you want to buy this book, I think it's worth it.

I really liked this book. Whilst it was slightly out of date, some of the concepts were highly relevant for today. In the UK, relationship marketing hasn't taken off as well as it has in the States, we are slightly behind in applying these great concepts.
A UK or European reader would benefit from reading this book in conjunction with a UK-oriented publication, for example Residual Dream. www.residual-dream.com
Book takes "positioning" to a new level.......1997-02-03
This is a must read for anyone in technology related marketing. McKenna brings about the concept of relationship/industry "infrastructure" marketing. He clearly outlines the steps in taking techonogy products to market. It turns a little "salesy" near the end (i.e. this is how Regis McKenna, Inc. consults with its customers), but the gems you will find on nearly every page justify the book

Susan Strange offers an excellently argued understanding of how the recent emphasis on national and global market forces has ham-strung political actors. However, as recent events in Russia and S.E. Asia have shown, political actors may still have the upper hand. While the book is marvelously presented, its thesis places too much emphasis on the here and now in its efforts to understand the future of political systems. My three star rating belies the great joy that this book must bring to economists who gain an opportunity to see the world as their domain.
