Introduction to E-Commerce, 2/e, by Rayport and Jaworksi, can be used as the principles book for e-commerce. Introduction to e-Commerce gives present and future practitioners of e-Commerce a solid foundation in all aspects of conducting business in the networked economy. The text focus is on what a manager needs to know about Internet infrastructure, strategy formulation and implementation, technology concepts, public policy issues, and capital infrastructure in order to make effective business decisions. This is presented in a framework for the study and practice of e-Commerce with business strategy at the core surrounded by four infrastructures; the technology infrastructure that underlies the Internet, the media infrastructure that provides the content for businesses, public policy regulations that provide both opportunities and constraints, and the capital infrastructure that provides the money and capital to run the businesses. Within this framework, the authors provide a deep exploration of core concepts of online strategy and associated enablers enriched by a wide variety of examples, case studies, and explanations culled directly from practice.

Dazed & Confused.......2002-04-30

This text was required reading in an Internet marketing class I took. As an about-to-graduate business major, I felt the book often strayed off it's subject matter (e-commerce) and too often went into excrutiating detail about how businesses operate. Although I did not read every chapter, the sections I did read were repetitive and confusing to follow. For example, the concept of "catalog content management" is defined and discussed at least three times in one chapter. To say this book is thorough is an understatement. There are many sections that could have been deleted with no loss of meaning to the subject matter. The book is probably OK for beginning business majors who have yet to take lots of business classes. However, for those who are more familiar with business, you will probably find yourself skimming over this text looking for the information you want. If you're looking for a general overview of e-commerce, this is not the book for you. If you want more detail than you thought existed . . . well, I'm selling my copy in the used book section of this site :)

On the science of multiple identities.......2004-05-04

I am a former student of Professor Spanos and worked closely with him and Dr. Lorne Bertrand at Carleton University to formulate his approach to understanding the phenomenon of multiple personality disorder during the mid-1980s. MPD or DID
(Dissociative Identity Disorder) as it is now called remains a very controversial diagnosis. If you are interested in learning more about this bizarre condition and you are skeptical by nature you will enjoy this book. Nick was one of the most analytical and clear thinkers whom I have ever met and worked with. In this book, he systematically develops the argument that a variety of social, cognitive, and other psychological and situational factors account for how and why some people present this way and come to think of themselves as having multiple identities--rather than some kind of elusive dissociating of the mind.

If you are tired of reading hocum and "pop" psychology and are looking for a truly scientific review of this phenomenon by one of the greatest and most prolific social psychologists who ever lived I highly recommend this book to you.

Check out Nick's other work on hypnosis, witchcraft, and demonic possession. By the time of his death, Nick had developed an enormous bibliography of scientific articles, chapters, and books. Many of his research designs and methodologies were truly brilliant.

A MUST READ.......1998-06-01

Dr Nicholas P. Spanos was an excellent researcher, a prolific writer and an incredible scientist. Dr Spanos provides a cogent, credible and a scientific explanation for multiple personality disorders and false memory syndrome, among others. His convincing, documented accounts return analyses to a scientific realm rather than the halls of medical sooth sayers with special insights.

Excellenct source of information on the basic principles in conducting the psychotherapy of MPD/DID and the tranference and countertransference in the overall treatment of MPD/DID. For both health providers and caregivers.

Issues of Multiple Posttraumatic and the clinical approaches to the Intergration of Personalities is really informative and helpful.

Tactical integrationist of and the treatment of DID/MPD and the aids to the treatment of on a General Psyciatric Unit are a must read for providers and caregivers alike.

Section 3 deals with the issue of Dissociation within the Inner city, Deinstitutionlization of patients with chronic MPD/DID and the use of Amtyal interviews in the treatment of the exceptionally complex caes of MPD/DID. The role of transional objects and phenomena in patients with MPD/DID, Play therapy with minors with MPD/DID, and Ego state therapy with patients and the use of sand trays in the beginning stages of treatment.

The last section is about MPD/DID consulation in Public Psychiatric care, Eating disorders in survivors of Multimodal childhood abuse, be it physical or mental/emotional. Eating disorders in the MPD/DID patient and finally an overall history of MPD/DID and how the treatment has evolved and matured.

Very complete guide to golf in Scotland.......2002-02-27

I bought this book "on site" in Scotland in 2000. A really great book. I agree with the descriptions of the courses, at least the dozen of the I've played. A funny thing is that the chapter about scottish players, the players of the future does NOT include Paul Lawrie, who soon after the book was printed became the first Scot to win the Open for a long time. But despite that, the book is great. You will find all the inspiration you need here.

This is the first story that I came across about the Delaneys. I absolutely love Iris Johansen's books and I was thrilled to read this! It is one of the best and it has made me interested in finding all of the books that cover the Delaneys. An awesome read, I couldn't put it down for a second and when it ended, I wanted more. I recommend this to anyone!

This is a lovely 3 in 1 book of the Delaney's: "Christmas Past", "Christmas Present" and "Christmas Future." A lovely mirror carved with holly was supposedly given to Shamus Delaney by the gypsies. Succeeding generations have discovered that it is a magical mirror enabling only Delaneys to see past, present and future. Don't miss Dominic and Elspeth's story in "This Fierce Splendor"--the one that started it all!

I loved Iris Johansen's "Christmas Past" because here we get a glimpse of how Silver Savron is doing, as well as the love story of Rising Star's son. Zara St. Cloud is outcast even among her fellow gypsies. She is desperate to prove she has Delaney blood in her by searching for the mirror. Kevin Delaney is bored. When he finds a housebreaker at Killara, he is determined that she will be his Christmas amusement. Hot!
