Absolutely do some research first.............2007-02-28
A few months ago, I went through super pages and other internet sources looking for stock brokers, brokerage houses, financial planners and so on. When I called some of the numbers listed. guess what happened? Most of them are disconected. Most were closed down. Even during the Bush Bull markets, stock brokers and other so called financial experts went broke and went out of business. Then I looked for lawsuits and I found that financial companies head the list of people/companies being sued. Just watch CNBC to check out the number of companies being fined.
My point? Why pick on Wade Cook? We all know that a certain left wing liberal lesbian attacked Trump recently with similiar charges that he had gone bankrupt a couple of times. Funny how t hat basher forgot to mention that Trump came back and is still a billionaire. Perhaps that same left wing lesbian is theo ne bashing Wade? No doubt she will be attacking Wade's hairstyle next too right? Ha, ha, ha.
The fact is that Wade is back. Forget those old website that lead you to a competitor of Wade who also runs seminars for around $3500 and publishes a newsletter that is pretty expensive.
Wade's Stock Picking Handbook is actually two books in one. The information was current up to the times that it was written (pre 2005) andi t contains information that you won't find anywhere else.
While Stock Picking Handbook is an excellent book and jam packed with information that you won't find anywhere else, I also recommend Wade's newest book, STOCK MARKET MONEY MACHINE. This one is all about covered calls and generating exciting rates of return.
Wade's newest book is also indicative of the readership that Wade has and that nobody is really taking Wade's one and only detractor seriously. In fact, the more this guy posts his garbage, the more Wade succeeds. Ditto for Robert Kiyosaki, Robert Allen, Donald Trump and Dolf Deroos.
By all means, do five minutes of research!.......2006-10-22
Just read the book, run the charts on the stocks Wade recommends and you'll see that Wade is right. And to go on step further, do a google on brokerage houses, see how many brokers have been sued and how many brokerage houses have been shut down. Check out how many fund managers have been fined and had their licenses revoked. Should take less than five minutes.
By the way, despite this 1 star reviewers unending pessimism and outright lies about Wade Cook, Wade is still here isn't he?
I urge all of you to do just 5 minutes of research..........2006-08-31
before buying any of Wade Cook's books. I won't go into all the transgressions, but lets just say you'll quickly realize he is someone you want to stay far away from. Now, I know Wade or his minions who have stacked the ratings with phony, 5 star ads will call me a "basher," but remember: I don't want any money from you whatsoever---I simply want you to educate yourself on Mr. Cook before having anything to do with him. Thats it.
Why won't all the 5 star reviewers encourage you to do the same? Do they not believe in you being an informed consumer? What exactly are they trying to hide? Either way, If I were Mr. Cook, I'd worry more about my upcoming tax evasion trial than trying to hype up my silly books.
Constant Cash Flow - Thanks Wade!.......2005-05-30
I have been using Wade Cook's rolling stock and covered call strategies for quite some time and have been generating constant cash flow. Using the advice espoused by Wade in this new and incredible book, I have been able to avoid the really bad stocks and select winners.
I have also been following Wade's advice in Real Estate Money Machine to create real wealth in real estate. Also recommend Nothing Down for the 2000's by Robert Allen who I understand also endorses Wade.
Disregard those paid brokers who hate Wade..................2005-05-29
Take a good look at the the four 1 star reviews that are several posts below mine. Isn't it obvious that they were all written by the same person who has an agenda?
Many brokers, especially those who work for deep discounted brokerages or boiler room type organizations hate Wade and hope you never read this or any of Wade's other books. Why? Wade teaches you that you can do this yourself and that it is less expensive to use a full priced broker who can hunt the best deals and the best prices for you.
Discount brokers will sell you what their manager wants them to sell you and whatever offers the highest spiff, weekend getaway, commission etc. Want to have some fun? When these parasites call you, ask them how much they own of the stock they are trying to unload on you! What will be their answser? That's easy, it will be ----CLICK!
By contrast, Wade shows you how to find the best deals for YOU, not your broker. Stocks that will help you creat cash flow, buy new cars, take vacations, pay off your mortgage and for your childrens college education. Wade shows you how to make money for yourself, not your broker.
Before writing this review, I went to other websites here on Amazon and browsed over the various reviews on Wades books going all the way back to 1997. Interesting how the basher (s) haven't really changed that much. Same dead material, same lies, same person. But guess what? Wade is s till h ere stronger than ever.
I wonder when this guy will realize that nobody is listening to him??? This guy is entertaining, if nothingelse and perhaps his endless negative posting is theraputic for him. Lucky for this guy that Wade is a nice guy and doesn't go after him. Also interesting is that Wade doesn't have these stupid posts deleted as some other authors with far less character and integrity than Wade do.
Another reason that I support Wade. He let's everybody sound off, even those negative paid bashers and brokers who are struggling to hold on to there jobs because of people like Wade.
I don't know about you, but I would rather listen to Wade than some paid broker who wants to make money for himself. And isn't it true that the real reason that these guys are called brokers is because they are broker than you? Think about that next time they give you a "hot tip."

Consultants Fons Trompenaars and Peter Prud'homme thoroughly explore issues in corporate culture, and focus on managing change across different cultures. They first analyze existing corporate culture analysis models highlighting their shortcomings and offer their new model for analyzing and assessing corporate culture. Yet another model for more accurately assessing corporate culture will primarily interest academics while general business readers will find more use for the brief but interesting case studies of companies that successfully managed cultural conflict while becoming global leaders: Nokia, Ikea, Applied Materials, Acer and Suez.
Like many other books in this genre, this book equates culture with the boundaries of the nation states and all countries are treated as monolithic cultures. This may lead readers to assume that once I learn about American of British behaviour, I can predict how any American or Brit would act in a certain situation.
Recommended to anyone who must resolve cultural issues in the wake of a merger or acquisition.

They offer a unique model for analyzing and assessing corporate culture, though that will primarily interest academics. General business readers will find more utility in the very brief but interesting profiles of companies that successfully managed cultural conflict while becoming global leaders: Nokia, Ikea, Applied Materials, Acer and Suez. The book's style sometimes veers into the numbingly academic but, for the most part, it speaks comfortably to the general reader, despite grammatical errors. We recommend this to anyone who must resolve cultural issues in the wake of a merger or acquisition.

This book changed my life!.......2004-03-31
This has to be the best book ever written. It is just soooo full of emotion. Like when Maddy, the little girl with spaz attacks, got out of her wheelchair and walked... I sobbed like a little be-otch. I also love the way the author compares water management to the historic fight for equal rights for inbred hillbilly amputees. And the way he uses Fargo as a metaphore for the universal quest for spiritual truth, blending traditional Christian principles with Eastern religious archetypes is simply Salingeresque in nature. This book is food for the soul! You will never look at Irrigated Agriculture the same way again...

In 1645 the Japanese samurai Musashi Miamoto wrote A Book of Five Rings, which described the attitudes necessary for individual success. Though he was a swordsman, his book was not limited to combat but addressed the much broader question of how to achieve excellence in life through study, discipline, and planning. It is still avidly read in Japan today.
Arthur Kornberg's book is a modern-day Book of Five Rings that replaces the medium of swordsmanship with that of biochemistry, particularly enzymology. As Kornberg describes his successive research problems, the challenges they presented, and the ultimate accomplishments that resulted, he provides us with a primer in the strategies needed to do scientific work of great significance. Moreover, these strategies are played out in the context of solving some of the great biochemical problems of the twentieth century.
The ability to manipulate and alter DNA fired a revolution that forever changed the nature of biology. Arthur Kornberg is a primary architect of that revolution, arguably one of the two or three most important biologists of this time. Prior to Kornberg, genetic information and later DNA were imbued by biologists with an almost vitalistic aura. Kornberg demonstrated that DNA is a molecule synthesized by enzymes, like all other chemical constituents of the cell. More important, he trained a school of scientists who focused on and discovered many of the enzymatic activities that act on DNA. It is these enzymes in particular that allow modern "genetic engineering."
For the Love of Enzymes does not describe a single lucky or hard-won accomplishment. Rather, it is the story of thirty years of decisive campaigns, nearly all of which led to insights of major significance. In relating his story, Kornberg never avoids the difficult question of "why": why he felt classical nutritional studies had reached a plateau, why he turned to enzymology as a discipline in which the important answers would be found, and why he believes the study of enzymes will grow ever more important as we face the new scientific frontier of brain function.
This book will challenge students of biology and chemistry at all levels who want to do important work rather than simply follow popular trends. It will also delight and inform readers who wish to understand how "real" science is done, and to learn of the values that guide one of our greatest researchers.

nice book, but doesn't quite live up to the hipe.......2007-07-25
This is a nice, well-written scientific autobiography.
It has some quite entertaining anecdotes, some social message, and a lot biology from the forefront of enzyme-research that should not be forgotten.
It also has a couple of verbatim repetitions withing the book, which are a bit odd.
On the other hand, it has managed to convince me of something that I have already suspected - that purifying and studying enzymes must be one of the most boring lines of research on the face of this planet. Kronberg makes a very valiant effort trying to show the opposite, and it's obvious that he loves his research with passion, something that I truly admire.
I recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of entering enzymology - I believe it will give them a reasonably realistic estimate on whether they will like the work or not (in my case the answer was no, but it's personal taste).

Learning to think, not just hit.......2005-02-26
This is the story of Bill, your average duffer. He has no idea why his game is better on some days, worse on others, and is sick of it. He's ready to quit. Then, our narrator, Tommy Armour, steps in. He tells Bill that all this time while he may have been playing golf, he hasn't got it into his head that he is playing it on a golf course.
Far too many of us forget this, too. The narrator and author then takes Bill through nine holes, guiding him on some and letting him think for himself on others. The result is exposure to elements of the game Bill probably always knew were there, but never actually thought about, and certainly never figred to work into how he approached play.
Overall, Tommy Armour gives the reader (as well as his playing partner) a simple, strait forward look at playing a golf course. He limits this scope to 9 holes rather than a full 18, but fits in virtually every variety of hole the average golfer will encounter, from the simple dogleg left to the forced carry par 3. If you have filled yourself up with swing instruction, wash it down with this before you try to apply it to your actual game. As Bill learns, it can mean more mental wear, but far less stress and much more enjoyment out of golf.

The very best book about "thinking" your way to better golf........1998-04-14
I am an avid golfer, handicap-12, who is amazed by the innate ability of Tommy Armour to disect and summarize the proper thought process towards playing better golf. This book is primarily about how to use your BRAINS while playing a round of golf. Part of the book will talk about basic swing fundamentals and proper techniques, but mostly this book excels at teaching a golfer how to use his head during a round of golf. Far more than a text on course management, this book shows how to correctly asses, analyze and execute the best methods of play during a round, shot by shot, hole by hole. The scenario is one in which the author helps a common weekend golfer, (like most of us are) and by getting him to THINK correctly about shot assesment and execution, turn his game around from one of desperation and near resignation, to one of confidence and cheer at his new found enjoyment of the game. Tommy Armour plays 9 holes with his struggling partner in this book and by pointing out the man's errors in thinking, actually makes the reader think that HE is the one to whom Armour is referring. Every time I read this book I feel that Armour is talking about me when he points out the many mistakes that most golfers take in their approach to the game. The book is not long on technical analysis, but is strong on proper mental discipline during a round of golf. By showing how the student's game unfolds over 9 holes, Amour is really holding up a mirror to the reader and challenging him to accept the fact that many of the mistakes being made by his playing partner are the same ones most of us make when we play the game.
The book is an easy-to-read, quickly moving recollection of a 9 hole round of golf. It reads more like an interesting short story than a dry, instructional book. Because of this somewhat different approach, I highly recommend this book as an addition to any golfer's instructional library. The only negatives that I can think of are the illustratons for the brief passages which deal with! swing technique: they are somwhat dated by modern standards. I have re-read the book many times and each time I am reminded of the importance of THINKING during a round of golf. Armour was an exceptionally keen witted man with an unusual gift for human insight. His Scottish humour is also a delight. This book should be read by all golfers. I only wish that it were still available in hardback!
