This volume is the eleventh in an annual series in which top economists provide a concise and accessible evaluation of major developments in trade and trade policy. Each annual volume examines key issues pertinent to the multinational trading system, as well as regional trade arrangements and policy developments at the national level. Each volume also provides assessments of the World Trade Organization's current Trade Policy Reviews.The 2004 volume considers Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) between Sub-Saharan Africa and the EU, and the role for EPAs in the Caribbean. It assesses the WTO Trade Policy Reviews of Burundi, Canada and the Maldives, and it includes special features on: trade reform and the Southern Mediterranean; the liberalisation of services trade in Tunisia and Egypt; rules of origin and the EU-Med Partnership; and the extent to which the quality of institutions is limiting the Middle East and North Africa's (MENA) integration into the world economy.

This book was loaded with information on history of the big island of Hawai'i. A must if you are traveling there. Once you get past the first chapter it is easy reading. Due to the unfamiliar names this chapter, while extremely important in the history of the island, was somewhat slow reading but well worth the effort.

Not the greatest.......2000-07-28

I personally feel Benton's book leaves an abundant more it be answered. The book does have such good points like as to the photo's and diagrams presented in the text, but the book is written with a higher learning in mind that might leave the common reader wondering what they just read. I have read far better books than this one , and I recommend it only for students of paleology or seasoned veterans in the field.

Excellent book for beginners or those interested in Tae kwon Do. Detailed explanation of Tae Kwon Do history, belt levels and Korean terminology with English pronunciations. Informative overview and pictures of each basic kick,counter attacks, blocks and tournament experience. Highly recommended from beginners to advanced.

Right-to-the-point explanations of TKDo techniques.......1999-02-25

Great book on training.......1998-09-11

This book is based on mostly training for competition, and some for self-defense. It shows one form(tae geuk 1) but that wasn't the intended purpose of it. It shows falling and rolling, stances, arm strikes, kicks, blocks, and even things like stepping. It also has good sections on conditioning and competition. The conditioning section has plyometric training, various ab workouts, kick and hand strike resistance training, and a very good sectiong on mental toughness(various imagery, meditation, and focused breathing exercises). The bad side is mostly a small lack of information. I felt the kicking and stretching sections could have been better. The kicking section doesn't show any jumping and advanced kicks(like the spinning hook kick), but overall it is a good book. It also has a nice price too.

The religious pilgrimage center of Nathadwara is home to a large community of traditional artists, who retain sketchbooks and other materials handed down in their families for generations. Exquisite study of a little-known sacred art .......2005-07-10

This book is a thoroughgoing, well-rounded study of the artists of Nathadwara town in Rajasthan, India, and of their various art productions and practices: a rigorous and innovative ethnography of living and deceased painters and painting in the Pushtimarg tradition of Vaisnavism. The book design is a delight, with its miniature drawings from Nathadwara art motifs placed on the pages and also at the end of each chapter, plus the beautifully printed color (and B&W) illustrations-a true feast for the eyes.
In her Introduction the author situates the art in relation to previous scholarship, then briefly surveys the history of Pushtimarg and how it became settled in Rajasthan, the role of the picchavai in this tradition, the question of whether it is art or folk art, and the scope of the study.
The next nine chapters intensively discuss the following topics: Mural paintings by Nathadwara artists; artists' workshops at turn-of-the-century; a glimpse of the temple in old Bombay based on an artist's sketchbook; artist families as frameworks for the evolution of style; an artist's eye to the future as exemplified in a sketchbook; the influence of British stylistics on an England-returned master artist; the women artists of Nathadwara; artists' histories and myths of caste and kin and location, and the genealogists who maintain and also invent them to please their patrons; and a conclusion that surveys issues of religion in relation to art and life in Nathadwara, artist views on aesthetic excellence, and younger artists' experimentation with other kinds of painting.
Throughout her in-depth examination of art and art making based on interviews, photographing art on location, studying rare artist sketchbooks, and extensive travels to important sites in and away from Nathadwara, the author reveals the many ways in which the artists of Nathadwara experience and fulfill their religious devotion in their works.
I highly recommend this beautiful as well as impressive book as a resource for Vaisnava studies as well as for historians of traditional arts on the Indian sub-continent.
